India Captures the Jade Rabbit (Twenty-One)
However, the banquet ended unhappily, though the guests and hosts remained on good terms.
The meeting ended unhappily because the Sage Zhunti during the banquet that the Western Heaven was the land of the Buddhist Sect and asked Ao Tu to move to the Eastern Lands to spread the religion.
The Sage of Jieyin sat beside the Sage of Zhunti, showing neither joy nor sorrow, and uttered not a word.
The three saints, Yuqing, Taiqing, Nuwa, remained calm.
The Sage Shangqing took out a small sword, barely an inch long, from somewhere and pretended to scrape his nails to hide the smile on his face.
The Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother remained unmoved.
Shakyamuni, as expected of the Cult Leader chosen by the old monk, sat there very steadily. Behind him, many Western Heaven Buddhas, seeing the Sage Zhunti suppressing Ao Tu, all wanted to stand up and speak. Randeng Ancient Buddha, Medicine Buddha, and Maitreya Buddha could not stop him. But Shakyamuni had a way; he shed tears there and asked the Buddhas for the contents of their plates and cups.
Those old Buddhas were all great Supernatural Ability beings from the Western Heaven Paradise in Ancient Times times. They later entered Buddhist Sect with their spiritual cultivation, and their seniority was even higher than that of Shakyamuni. Therefore, they directly questioned:
"What kind of time is this? We wish to discuss important matters in the Western Heaven, yet you, the dignified World-Honored One, are here demanding worldly possessions?"
Shakyamuni sighed, "I am reminded of Mahakala Bodhisattva and Great Brahma King. Since you are about to leave, these offerings are unnecessary. I will take some back to offer to them."
These words immediately persuaded most of the people to stop and sit back down.
However, the old Buddha's Calamity Qi still entered his brain, and he insisted on getting up, so there was no way to save him.
In addition, several Western Heaven Supernatural Ability masters outside of the Buddhist Sect also rose up and challenged Ao Tu Ao Tu, urging him to go to the Eastern Lands or to change his doctrines.
Although Buddhist Sect dominates the Western Heaven, there are also several other Ancient Times masters of great supernatural Supernatural Ability residing there.
For example, Great Immortal Zhenyuan is one of them.
Of course, Great Immortal Zhenyuan did not make trouble for Ao Tu. He and Ao Tu had a very close relationship and addressed each other as brothers, so naturally he would not object.
Ao Tu actually recognized those Supernatural Ability individuals who rose up to cause trouble.
To be more precise, it was Ao Tu Ao Tu's Self Corpse- recognition that led him to this realization after he Attainment of the Dao.
There is one called "Holy Spirit Cult Leader" who will establish a religion and reside in the northern lands in the Future. He is accustomed to whipping his followers, loves hearts and livers, and is a fellow believer of Ao Tu's Self Corpse.
Because Ao Tu's Self Corpse- punishment of betraying believers involved skinning them, while Ao Tu's involved disemboweling them, the two had no conflict and both enjoyed whipping their followers, thus they often discussed doctrines together.
Good fortune comes when believers simultaneously adhere to both religions.
There is another being called "Lord of Wisdom and Supreme Goodness," who will also establish a religion and reside in the northern lands in the Future. He likes to burn offerings.
Ao Tu's Self Corpse was that his methods were too cruel, and he loathed him so much that he often suppressed him severely.
As for why these two people now live in the Western Heaven but Future moved to the North, Ao Tu had no idea.
Ao Tu didn't waste any words on these people.
He has Vice Sect Leader Minghe under his command.
Minghe, always arrogant, said everything Ao Tu wanted to say, even more harshly.
Those people also condemned the Minghe.
If it weren't for the need to save face, they would have insulted the Minghe.
The banquet ultimately ended unhappily.
Yet, the host and guest got along well.
Because Ao Tu, the Six Sages, the Jade Emperor, and the Queen Mother were all very satisfied.
After the banquet, Ao Tu immediately instructed Minghe to reorganize the Troops and attack Spirit Mountain in a few days.
As for inviting the Three Pure Ones to set up the formation, Ao Tu was not in a hurry to do so.
After all, secrecy is key to success, and it's inconvenient to have too many people at a banquet.
Upon receiving the order, Minghe led his men back to reorganize the Troops. Before leaving, he avoided the demons and privately instructed Ao Tu that the attack on Spirit Mountain was of utmost importance, and that he must not indulge in women in the next few days, lest he jeopardize the great undertaking.
Ao Tu casually agreed and sent Minghe away.
After Minghe left, Ao Tu looked towards a corner where there was a pavilion. Outside the pavilion, a Begonia grew quietly, its blossoms long since withered, leaving only its branches, which lay dormant due to the cold weather.
Ao Tu walked over.
Feeling ashamed, Begonia turned away to avoid her.
At that moment, a whirlwind of fire swept Heaven, and red silk ribbons fluttered in the air.
Ao Tu looked up and saw Nezha standing barefoot on top, with rolling wind and fire beneath his feet and a long red silk ribbon around his waist. Because he was small, he deliberately stood in mid-air and looked down at Ao Tu.
Looking at his arrogant expression, Ao Tu thought to himself that he had already Attainment of the Dao!
"Demon Dragon, congratulations..."
Before Nezha could finish speaking, Ao Tu grabbed the red silk and ripped it down from the Heaven.
Patting Nezha's hair, Ao Tu laughed and said, "Children should speak with their heads down!"
Nezha looked up at Ao Tu, his teeth clenching slightly, and said, "No congratulations!"
As they were talking, Wukong and Bajie came over and congratulated Ao Tu as well.
The two had been watching from a distance while the powerful Supernatural Ability were present, and only came over now that they saw the crowd had dispersed.
Wukong hit Bajie and taught Bajie to speak.
Bajie dared not speak.
Wukong had no choice but to speak up himself, "Dragon Brother, that Kasaya... I, the fool, have already offered up that Kasaya. Without the Kasaya, my master is afraid the Buddha will blame him, so he dares not go to Spirit Mountain and sent the two of us here to ask for it."
Ao Tu then realized that the Brocade Kasaya was still in his hands; no wonder the reward hadn't been settled.
He took out the Kasaya and gave it to Wukong.
Wukong was extremely grateful.
Ao Tu laughed and said, "Don't thank me. It was my plan to test Tang Sanzang. He has the heart to Attaining Buddhahood and is not afraid of Demon, but he still needs to be wary of worldly Mortal!"
Ao Tu actually said this offhand.
Wukong and Bajie, however, believed it and repeatedly said, "We have learned our lesson."
After Wukong Bajie left, Ao Tu asked Nezha to become his attendant. Nezha refused and argued a few times, only agreeing to come and help when attacking Spirit Mountain, and then left.
After Nezha left, Ao Tu prepared to rescue Hong'er.
Just then, a call was heard from a great distance.
"Brother!"
It turned out that Guanyin Bodhisattva brought the Golden-Nosed White-Haired Rat Spirit on a cloud. When they were still Three Thousand away from Ao Tu, the Golden-Nosed White-Haired Rat Spirit called out in advance.
Three Thousand can be covered in an instant.
The Golden-Nosed White-Haired Rat Spirit pounced on him with a fawning expression, only to be frozen in place by Ao Tu.
Guanyin Bodhisattva rebuked her from behind, saying, "You wicked girl, how could you forget to restrain your desires?"
The Golden-Nosed White-Haired Rat Spirit retorted defiantly:
"Brother, don't listen to her seriousness. She came 172 days ago and led me outside to watch you Attainment of the Dao. You see her face is so holy and compassionate, but actually her eyes are on you and her mouth is chanting your name. She's not much better than me. I wanted to go to you, but she wouldn't let me. So she secretly went back Three Thousand, riding on a cloud and pretending to have just arrived for you."
Guanyin Bodhisattva remained calm and unaffected by the words of the Golden-Nosed White-Haired Rat Spirit, turning to look at Ao Tu.
Ao Tu stepped forward and teased, "Why is Teacher avoiding me? I actually knew Teacher were coming, but after Teacher left, I thought Teacher didn't want to see me! Does Teacher really think of me often?"
Guanyin Bodhisattva rarely changed; she seemed slightly hesitant to speak, but changed the subject, saying, "My disciple, you have now attained the Great Dao. We are no longer master and disciple. Although I have guided you on some the Path, it was only a minor one. From now on, you should no longer call me Teacher."
