Grayfur Tribe

Nix came from the Grayfur Tribe, one of more than fifty tribes south of the Great Swamp. The region’s inhabitants included Rabbitfolk, Civetfolk, and Shenglu Birdfolk, who sometimes traded with human kingdoms to the west. Neither Nix nor Lin Ke initially knew that the other’s people lived on the opposite side of the swamp 15.

An unidentified Professional attacked Nix’s tribe, defeating even its strongest level-five [Agile Walker]. Nix reported that he was the only Rabbitfolk left. Two bloodline-enlightened Deep Blue Giant Tigers subsequently pursued him, killing his companions and tracking his scent 12 15.

Becoming Lin Ke’s Follower

Hearing Lin Ke’s voice, Nix escaped toward the caravan, leaped onto a cart, and offered to become the young noble’s follower in exchange for protection. Lin Ke sheltered him while organizing the guards against the tigers. After both beasts were driven away, Nix swore lifelong allegiance 12 13 14.

Lin Ke recognized Nix as the system’s promised follower with exceptional potential and a guarantee against betrayal. He brought Nix to Azan Castle, where Billy arranged a room beside John’s. As a follower, Nix was permitted to dine at the family table under Garros’s rule that followers were family and comrades, not servants 14 16 18 48.

Appearance

Nix resembles a rabbit with humanoid hands and clothing. His white fur remains clean even after fleeing for his life 12 16.

Personality

Nix is devoted to Lin Ke and eager to become useful to him. When told that Lin Ke might be in danger, his first instinct is to stay and protect him rather than leave to summon help. He also feels responsible for the fear caused by the tiger encounter, requiring Lin Ke’s reassurance that the beasts would have endangered the caravan regardless 18 29 34.

He is curious and asks direct questions rather than merely waiting for instructions. His suggestion that they manufacture medical tools and alcohol prompts Lin Ke to reconsider how his previous-life knowledge could develop the territory. Nix remains inexperienced in human etiquette, but learns restraint, enduring Antova’s insults instead of reacting as he might have in tribal society 16 17.

Nix cries readily when grieving, feeling guilty, or recalling his mother. His emotional sensitivity coexists with diligence: he studies medicine, acquires the [Scholar] profession quickly, and follows Lin Ke’s example by meditating during travel. He is oblivious to John’s early jealousy and does not view their studies as a competition 18 24 27 29 46.
