The women kept nodding.
Zhao Chi said, "This is your first battle, so you might lack experience. But don't worry. I'll charge in first. Just follow me. The enemies are weak, so fight without holding back. If you run into trouble, call me right away."
The women nodded again.
"Good. Follow me!"
Zhao Chi charged straight out.
He took the lead, setting an example.
The women followed close behind.
But two seconds later, Zhao Chi saw long, fair legs entering his field of vision from both sides.
The next instant, those fair legs planted themselves on the ground as their partners swung forward.
In just one second, every woman had overtaken him.
Their faces were full of anticipation, excitement, and... a hint of delight?
As he stared in bewilderment, the women ran farther and farther ahead.
All they left him were glimpses of their pale backs.
Gu Qing found a moment to look back and reassure him. "Don't worry. Leave it to us."
Then she charged ahead, her two soft melons bouncing.
At that moment, the village dogs began barking wildly.
Alerted, the Goblins all grabbed the wooden spears beside them.
"The dogs are barking. Enemies?"
"Where?"
"South! South!"
"Is it a wolf pack?"
"Not wolves. Human women!"
"Whoa, human women?"
"Whoa! Whoa, whoa! They really are women! More than ten of them!"
"Great! We can eat them. Tender meat!"
"They're so pale and pretty. Enjoy them first! Then eat them!"
"Right! Enjoy them first, then eat them!"
The Goblins were all stunned.
They watched the charging women with delighted surprise.
They couldn't understand why such a wonderful treat would deliver itself to their doorstep.
But things that delivered themselves to your doorstep were rarely good news.
The women smiled at them.
The next instant brought blades and a rain of blood.
Tang Ruan charged ahead of the others, only for Gu Qing to overtake her.
Facing a bewildered Goblin, Gu Qing smiled and swung her cleaver.
"Fly!"
Splat!
A head flew into the air.
First kill!
Tang Ruan arrived next and slashed down, imitating Zhao Chi's fighting stance.
Crack!
Second kill!
The other women rushed over too.
Dull sounds rang out as blades sank into flesh.
Splat, crack, thud, thud, splat, crack!
Eight kills!
In just a few breaths, eight Goblins screamed and fell to the ground.
The difference in stats was overwhelming.
These Goblins had no chance to fight back.
The remaining Goblins turned and fled without hesitation.
Several Goblins ran out of their tents, saw the women brimming with aggression, and ducked back inside.
They lifted the bottoms of their tents and crawled out underneath, hoping to escape through the other side.
But Tang Ruan pinned one under her foot.
The sole of her foot was soft.
But with her pressing down hard now, the Goblin couldn't budge.
Tang Ruan quickly asked, "Do you surrender?"
The Goblin looked at the Firewood Cleaver above his head. "I... I surrender."
Chapter 21: Gu Qing
Several Goblins ran for their lives.
The women behind them pursued relentlessly.
Both sides had six points in agility, making their speeds evenly matched.
But the Goblins had lower Constitution, only four points, which meant less stamina as well.
If this continued, they would be caught sooner or later.
"Chief, what do we do? Why can these human women run as fast as Elves?"
"Damn it, how should I know?"
"What do we do if we can't shake them?"
"How should I know?"
"Aaah! Chief! Chief..."
"What are you yelling for!"
The Goblin Chieftain was impatient.
Just as he was about to look back, he heard a woman's voice.
"So you're the chief. You certainly can run."
The Goblin Chieftain was horrified.
He was about to raise his Iron Spear when a white blur shot toward him.
A closer look revealed it to be a woman's long leg, pale and straight.
The next instant, that long leg slammed into the chief's thigh.
His dark green thigh stood in stark contrast to her long, fair leg.
Thump!
The Goblin Chieftain fell to the ground, scraping bloody streaks across his body.
He struggled desperately but couldn't get up.
Agony shot through his left leg.
It bent at an unnatural angle. It was broken.
He looked up in panic and saw a gorgeous human woman.
Gu Qing smiled. "Goblin Chieftain, do you surrender?"
"I... I..." The chief was utterly panicked.
He looked to the other Goblins for help.
But not one of the other Goblins dared come closer.
"Chief! Are you all right?"
"Chief, we're running!"
"Keep it up, Chief!"
The Goblin Chieftain raged, "Keep it up, my ass! Get the fuck back here!"
Before he could finish, Gu Qing hauled him up.
She placed her Firewood Cleaver against his neck.
She said coldly, "If any of you dare run, I'll slaughter your chief!"
The Goblins turned a deaf ear and kept fleeing for their lives.
Gu Qing was taken aback. "So that's how it is."
Thud!
She pushed off hard, unleashing her full speed.
Three seconds later, she caught up with the Goblins.
"Aaah! She's caught up!"
