He should be worth a little more.
But he was already old, so he would not be worth much more.
Besides, a private deal like this would definitely come in below market price.
If it cost the same as the market, the buyer might as well buy there directly.
Zhao Chi did some rough calculations.
These 21 Goblins should be worth 2 gold coins, but not quite 3.
Still, they should be enough to trade for the Stocking Fashion Modification Book.
He had planned to sell them anyway, and this was the perfect opportunity.
Chapter 32: New villagers
Zhao Chi ran through the numbers.
The values were close enough.
Then he replied to Wang Lie:
[I have 21. Here are their stats and a list of their personalities. Take a look. If you agree, we can trade. Oh, and you'll have to cover the tax.]
Wang Lie readily replied:
[Holy shit! 21! How do you have so many? Where did they come from? That's three days' worth of migrants for me!]
[Their stats are a little low... but the numbers make up for it. No need to look too closely. I agree to the trade, and I'll pay the tax.]
[Cao Feng is so damn arrogant. Just because he has some money, he acts like he's hot shit every fucking day.]
[He actually thinks he's a noble. If he's so tough, why doesn't he go throw his weight around in the real nobles' district?]
[When you shut him down in the group yesterday, we didn't dare say anything outright, but we were laughing our asses off.]
[If Cao Feng finds out you bought it, he'll probably start spewing shit again. Try to get the system to mute him for another day.]
[Oh, and if you buy it, Cao Feng will definitely come looking for me. I don't really want to clash with him head-on.]
[So I'll tell him you bought it. Is that okay?]
Wang Lie's voice was charged with emotion.
But his reluctance to offend Cao Feng was only to be expected.
Zhao Chi understood.
Zhao Chi replied:
[That's fine. Don't put yourself in a difficult position. Just tell him I bought it. How should we trade? Things aren't very convenient in my territory. Should I come to yours?]
Wang Lie replied:
[Sure, no problem. I'll send you an invitation.]
Zhao Chi and Wang Lie were in the same city.
Trading and visiting each other were both convenient.
If they had been in different cities, it would have been much more troublesome.
Wang Lie sent him a visit invitation.
But Zhao Chi could not go over just yet.
Gu Qing was still draped over him, murmuring in her sleep. He had no idea what she was dreaming about.
It was already 5:40 a.m.
The new villagers would appear at six.
Last night, he had deliberately tied all the Goblins up in the far-left corner.
That way, they could not see the newly spawned female villagers at all.
Now that he was about to sell them, he had even less to worry about.
Gu Qing was still wrapped around Zhao Chi like an octopus.
Zhao Chi gently moved her smooth thigh aside.
Then he eased her soft arm away.
Gu Qing gave a soft murmur and woke up.
"Mm... my lord, what time is it?"
"It's 5:40. Sleep a little longer. I'll go take a look outside."
Gu Qing rubbed her eyes and sat up.
"Sorry, my lord. I thought I heard you calling me last night, so I came up."
Zhao Chi nodded. "It's fine. It's still early. Get some more sleep."
Gu Qing shook her head. "No need. I've had enough sleep. I'll go out with you."
The morning air was fresh.
The sun had not risen yet, but the sky was already growing light.
Everything around them was quiet.
The two female villagers on night watch were sitting on the roof, chatting softly.
When they saw Zhao Chi and Gu Qing, they greeted them quietly.
Zhao Chi and Gu Qing politely returned their greetings.
"Oh, my lord, Sister Gu, you're up too?"
Tang Ruan carried out a large pot of rice porridge and set it down outside the house.
Gu Qing asked, "You made this? What time did you get up?"
Tang Ruan said, "Yes, around five. Aren't some new sisters arriving soon? I made it ahead of time so they can eat after their bath. That way, they can leave the newborn state sooner and serve our lord."
Zhao Chi said, "Why don't you go back to sleep for a while? Are you tired?"
Tang Ruan smiled. "No. I can sleep tonight. I've sliced the venison too, so we can put it straight on the grill later."
Gu Qing praised her. "What a hardworking little thing."
Tang Ruan said, "I'm not little anymore. I'm eighteen too."
Gu Qing sighed. "Ah, it seems I'm the oldest one here. My lord, do you mind a twenty-six-year-old woman?"
Zhao Chi smiled. "What's there to mind? Twenty-six is the best age. Besides, you all live so long that you can stay young for over a hundred years. I'm honestly a little jealous."
Gu Qing fell silent for a moment.
She seemed to be thinking about something.
Soon, she shook her head and said gently, "I'll get the bathing supplies. When they arrive, I'll take them straight to the river to bathe."
Zhao Chi said, "I'm heading out shortly to sell these Goblins. Help me secure the ropes first."
Gu Qing looked a little surprised.
"Really? That's wonderful. They stink and won't obey orders. We're better off selling them."
Before long, Gu Qing had helped him tie the Goblins securely.
Zhao Chi nodded. "I'll be off, then."
"All right. Have a safe trip, my lord."
Zhao Chi opened the system.
He selected the option to accept Wang Lie's invitation.
His vision blurred again.
Just as when he returned to the Great World, the scenery shifted rapidly.
The next moment, he arrived on a hill.
He could see a low hill containing ore nearby.
Five Goblins were mining away with a steady clanging.
Wang Lie was also holding a pickaxe, digging hard for iron ore.
Wang Lie's territory had only three buildings: a Lord's House, a wooden house, and a blacksmith shop.
It seemed he intended to focus on forging.
"Zhao Chi, you're here! You really do have a lot of Goblins."
Wang Lie came over to greet him.
"Yes. Here are the ropes. But converting a large number of captives can be dangerous. Don't let them overrun your territory. Remember to take it slowly."
"Yeah, I understand. But why are all your Goblins so dirty?"
Wang Lie looked at them with distaste.
"They're all from wilderness camps. They're definitely much dirtier than migrants, but it's fine. Just wash them."
Wang Lie nodded. "Yeah, no big deal. Huh? What's with this old Goblin? His stats are pretty high."
"He's a Goblin Chieftain. Of course his stats are a little higher."
"Nice, very nice. There's even a chieftain. I can train him up."
Zhao Chi smiled. "Well? Are you satisfied?"
Wang Lie nodded. "Definitely. This is like getting three days' worth of migrants at once, plus a chieftain with high stats. Fucking awesome!"
Zhao Chi said, "Good, as long as you're satisfied. Let's go through with the trade."
"Sure."
A trade interface instantly appeared before each of them.
Zhao Chi placed ownership of the 21 Goblins into it, while Wang Lie put up the Stocking Fashion Modification Book.
