His awakening reveals both innate full soul power and the Favorability System. After comforting Tang Wulin over his Blue Silver Grass awakening, Jiang Mingyuan obtains and equips three traits drawn from him: Destruction Godhead, Goddess of Life’s Blessing, and false child of destiny 1.

Although offered a free soul spirit for joining the Spirit Pagoda, he declines membership and buys a 653-year-old Emerald Swan. A twenty-percent Genius Development Plan discount reduces its price from 3.2 million to 2.56 million Federation Coins 2.

Eastsea Academy

Jiang Mingyuan attends Eastsea Academy with Tang Wulin and studies under Wu Changkong. His baseline assessment demonstrates aerial combat and precise flame control: he forces Li Chushui to surrender inside a fiery net without using his rings, then attacks Tang Wulin from above 15.

After Tang Wulin breaks the first Golden Dragon King seal, their resonating bloodlines produce a Martial Soul Fusion Skill. Jiang Mingyuan controls its red-winged female body and flame-wreathed greatsword, remaining lucid while wielding power that would normally threaten his sanity 31 32.

As a member of Class Zero, he helps coordinate hunts in the Spirit Ascension Platform. Against the Crystal Bear, he combines an exhausting pursuit with team support, leaving Tang Wulin to deliver the killing blow 35 38.

Shrek City and Physical Mutation

In Shrek City, Jiang Mingyuan attracts Ya Li’s interest through his unusually pure life energy. His connections also bring Wu Changkong’s whereabouts to Zhuo Shi’s attention 49 52.

The Golden Tree subsequently pours life force into him, causing temporary adult growth and a loss of control. An internal humanoid skeleton interrupts his attempted attack on Gu Yuena, allowing his consciousness to recover. The Golden Tree Spirit tells Yun Ming that Jiang Mingyuan could safeguard Shrek’s stability for ten thousand years 61 62.

Absorbing the Evil Fire Phoenix afterward triggers a further transformation. He obtains three scarlet rings, crimson hands with sharp nails, patterned arms, and wings that fold into elaborate markings on his back 64 65.

Competition and Shrek Enrollment

After returning to Eastsea Academy, Jiang Mingyuan defeats Tang Wulin’s group, including Zhang Yangzi and Wang Jinxi’s bone-dragon fusion. He then spends a month helping the group improve its teamwork before the Skysea Alliance Grand Competition 78.

During the tournament, his spatial movement, protective feathers, and healing make Class Zero especially difficult to counter. When he releases his destructive flames against a fusion attack, Ya Li intervenes to keep them away from Tang Wulin 89 94 95.

He later enters Shrek Academy alongside Tang Wulin. His freshman assessment against Yuanen Yehui demonstrates his developing swordsmanship, elemental enhancement, and ability to reshape Soul Silver during combat 110 111 162.

Parenthood and Family Reunion

A red-scaled winged snake appears during a night with Gu Yuena and transforms into a small child resembling Jiang Mingyuan. The child calls him “Mama” and is named Jiang Xiaoyue. Jiang Mingyuan describes her as his adopted child when introducing her at his parents’ graves 99 100 101.

His understanding of his family later collapses when his maternal aunt, Ye Lingxing, forcibly brings him to an underground base. There he discovers that Jiang Xu and Ye Lingyun are alive. He angrily demands to know why they abandoned him, but they offer no answer during the reunion 154.

His disappearance prompts Ya Li and Yun Ming to organize a search and require students to travel in groups of at least five. After rejoining his classmates, he apologizes to Ya Li and Tang Wulin 155.

Phoenix God Core Fusion

Following an internal confrontation with a more confident version of himself, Jiang Mingyuan resolves to stop dwelling exclusively on his worries. His Phoenix God Core then completes its fusion with him during his stay at the Blacksmith Association, raising him to rank 63 166 169.

At Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy, observers initially suspect that his extraordinary rings are an illusion. His actual Soul Emperor cultivation leaves the academy unable to find a student capable of overpowering him 170.

Appearance

• General features: Androgynous beauty and vivid red hair; his appearance can be described as cute, pretty, or handsome without seeming contradictory 2.
• Female form: Initially develops long crimson-to-gold hair with dark-red flames at its ends. A later transformation leaves him with waist-length wine-red hair and a smaller, more feminine build 1 42.
• Wings: Large red or golden-red phoenix wings emerge from his back. Unlike ordinary soul-power appendages, they initially tear through his clothing, prompting him to commission open-backed shirts 1 35 38.
• Post-mutation markings: His wings can fold against his skin as detailed tattoos extending down either side of his spine. His arms also bear multicolored patterns 64 65.
• Halo: A scarlet ring appears behind his head 64 77.
• Clothing: Often wears practical male clothing, including a black jacket and light-blue jeans with his hair in a high ponytail 74.

Personality

Jiang Mingyuan is protective and generous toward his friends, but distinguishes support from dependence. He offers Tang Wulin financial help while insisting that a Soul Master must make corresponding efforts. When classmates mock humble origins, he openly rejects their sense of superiority 3 5.

He is inventive and pragmatic in combat and design. He favors aerial bombardment against opponents who cannot reach him, turns malleable metal into reusable tools, and searches for ways to combine incompatible material properties. His ingenuity coexists with indecision and a preference for avoiding unnecessarily complicated work 14 15 110 122 173.

His female phoenix form amplifies violent emotions, with Destruction Godhead intensifying the effect. Emotional disturbance can therefore become a genuine control problem rather than ordinary anger 9. Beneath his outward competence, he also struggles with insecurity, accumulated worries, and the contrast between himself and a more confident inner counterpart 166.

The male and female phoenixes are two forms of one martial soul, not separate twin martial souls. Changing form changes his physical sex, which remains unchanged when Martial Soul Possession ends 1 2.
