Gekkō Raito helped Sasuke kill Danzo, then left Konoha with Hinata and returned to Kirigakure, where he rebuilt the Seven Ninja Swordsmen and gained the village’s support. After fighting off Obito and Akatsuki attackers, Raito became acting Mizukage and traveled to Kumogakure to discuss disputed sea lanes, where his arrival provoked a tense confrontation with the Fourth Raikage.

• The Daimyō appointed Danzo Fifth Hokage, but Jiraiya exposed Danzo and Orochimaru’s plot against Konoha, and Gekkō Raito’s Kirigakure ANBU surrounded Danzo and Root.
• Gekkō Raito and Sasuke fought Danzo, overcame his Izanagi with the Great Sage’s help, and killed him, then escaped Konoha with Hinata and the Kirigakure force.
• Gekkō Raito devoured Ranmaru and fused his Red Eye with his Sharingan, then appointed Kisame Hoshigaki, Zabuza Momochi, Yuki Haku, Chōjūrō, Ameyuri Ringo, Kyuji Kaguya, and Yu Wucheng Ming to the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
• Gekkō Raito defeated challengers to the Seven Swordsmen’s authority and demonstrated Water Breathing, winning further support from Kirigakure’s ninja.
• Obito confronted Gekkō Raito and escaped after their fight, while Kakuzu and Hidan attacked Kirigakure and Gekkō Raito drove them out with a massive whirlpool.
• Elder Genshi appointed Gekkō Raito acting Mizukage, and Raito cleared Kirigakure’s backlog and established a plan to manage the village’s mist.
• Gekkō Raito accepted Kumogakure’s invitation to discuss a disputed sea route and arrived with Kyuji Kaguya and Ameyuri Ringo, where the Fourth Raikage’s confrontation led to a brief clash between their forces.

Gekkō Raito defeated Kumogakure’s forces, secured maritime concessions, and led Kirigakure’s response to Sunagakure’s plea to rescue Gaara. Gaara returned to life, Sasori joined him in Sunagakure, and Raito gained the first stage of a new spatial ability as tensions with Konoha loomed.

• Gekkō Raito defeated the Fourth Raikage and Killer B, forcing Kumogakure to accept his maritime terms.
• Gekkō Raito returned to Kirigakure, expanded its trade plans, and began developing his Six Paths Power and a spatial ability.
• Temari asked Gekkō Raito to help save Gaara, and he agreed in exchange for gold dust and Temari’s commitment to Sunagakure’s agreement.
• Gekkō Raito, Kisame, and Kyuji traveled to Sunagakure, where Baki accepted the deal and asked Kirigakure to shield the village from Konoha.
• Gekkō Raito’s group tracked Gaara’s kidnappers, splitting up to pursue Sasori and Deidara while Raito confronted Konan and Zetsu.
• Kisame fought Deidara, but Obito rescued him and escaped with him after Gekkō Raito arrived.
• Kyuji overwhelmed Sasori’s puppets as Chiyo sacrificed her life to revive Gaara, and Gaara invited Sasori to return to Sunagakure.
• Sasori agreed to follow Gaara in an ordinary puppet, while Gekkō Raito unlocked ROOM: Shambles and sent shinobi to negotiate the gold-dust agreement.

Gekkō Raito strengthened Kirigakure through a summit, new alliances, restored clans, and powerful jinchūriki while defeating Tsunade and expanding his abilities. The arc ended with Sasuke and Naruto arriving in Kirigakure as Raito continued searching for Itachi.

• Tsunade sent Kakashi Hatake’s team to intercept Kirigakure’s delegation, and Zabuza, Kisame, and Yu Wucheng Ming fought them until Gaara stopped the battle and called for a summit.
• Gekkō Raito became Kirigakure’s Sixth Mizukage, moved islands to create new defenses and a summit site, and invited Tsunade and Gaara to negotiate.
• At the summit, Gekkō Raito defeated Sasori and Tsunade in duels, then negotiated a treaty that gave Konoha a share of Sunagakure’s gold dust and higher-rank missions.
• Gekkō Raito restored Sasori’s body using a Sand Ninja’s body and his Regenerative Core, while Gaara agreed to seek a suitable vessel for him.
• After learning that Akatsuki had captured Killer B and wounded the Fourth Raikage, Gekkō Raito modified 300 ninja, formed new Kekkei Genkai clans, and made Haku and three clan leaders jinchūriki.
• Gekkō Raito defeated Han, devoured the Five-Tails’ chakra, and persuaded Han to join Kirigakure, while Sasuke set out for the village to ask for help finding Itachi.
• Gekkō Raito trained to develop his abilities as Sasuke’s group and Naruto’s group approached Kirigakure.
• Haku escorted Sasuke, Suigetsu, Karin, and Jūgo to Gekkō Raito, who said Kirigakure was searching for Itachi’s exact location before Naruto arrived with Kakashi, Sakura, and Sai.

Gekkō Raito defeated Deidara’s invasion of Kirigakure, witnessed Itachi’s death, and then intervened when Pain’s assault on Konoha sent Naruto into a rampage. After sealing the Nine-Tails and destroying most of Pain’s Paths, he faced the Deva Path as Obito arrived to protect Nagato.

• Gekkō Raito stopped Naruto and Sasuke’s fight, then helped Naruto control the Nine-Tails’ power while he analyzed its chakra and developed Light Release.
• Gekkō Raito took Sasuke to face Itachi, learned the truth of the Uchiha massacre, and received Shisui’s eye before Itachi died and Sasuke awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan.
• Obito and Deidara attacked Kirigakure, but the village’s clans and ninja repelled them until Gekkō Raito returned and captured Deidara.
• Pain attacked Konoha and killed Jiraiya, prompting Naruto to lose control and devastate the village until Gekkō Raito arrived to stop him.
• Gekkō Raito sealed the Nine-Tails in the frozen lake, then fought Nagato’s Six Paths of Pain and destroyed all but the Deva Path.
• Gekkō Raito overwhelmed the Deva Path despite Nagato’s Shinra Tensei and Banshō Ten'in, while Obito appeared beside Nagato to protect him.
