Backlund, I'm back
"From what you're saying, you know what he wants?" Kronos asked, somewhat curiously.
Amyrius chuckled softly. "I don't know. Everyone says he's trying to take a final step up at the last minute, but I know that's not it."
"I know him fairly well, and his lust for power isn't as strong as everyone imagines. Otherwise, he would have had the opportunity to move up a rank long ago, whether it was to take a high-ranking but leisurely position to retire or to find a more powerful post. It wouldn't have been difficult for him."
"Furthermore, a closer look reveals that the connections he's recently cultivated are mostly with Beyonder, whether it's Demigod in the Royal Family, the Church of Storms, or the Church of Evernight —none of them are high-ranking or powerful figures. Therefore, it can be concluded that his purpose is probably unrelated to promotion or wealth."
"As people get older, they care more about health and longevity, and I suspect that's his purpose."
Amyrius stated frankly Information he knew and his own speculations.
Kronos had some speculations about this, but compared to Amyrius's words, they paled in comparison.
"Then I really need to stay away from him. If he asks me to extend his life again, I'll be completely helpless."
"Just remember this. Anyway, you're leaving soon, so you don't need to worry about it so much. To put it bluntly, it's hard to say whether this person will still be around when you come out again."
Kronos thought about it and realized that it made sense, so he didn't continue the topic.
After exchanging a few words, Kronos took his leave.
After Kronos left, Amyrius found an envelope where Kronos had just been sitting, and the origin of the envelope was obvious without even having to think about it.
Amyrius picked up the envelope and took out two pieces of paper from it.
" To Admiral Amyrius:"
"I have Admiral you a gift, Your Excellency, but it is of great importance, so I hope you can keep it a secret."
"General, you have a detailed understanding of our family history, so you should know that the Royal Family is indeed unreliable in many ways."
"Since I met the general, he has taken great care of me, and I am deeply grateful for that."
"Therefore, I hope to become a tacit, natural ally with the General. This matter will not involve our families; it's simply between you and me."
"I hope that in critical moments, the general and I can lend a helping hand to each other and overcome difficulties together."
"I won't say any more. I wish the general good health and all his wishes come true."
After reading the letter, Amyrius chuckled softly.
Amyrius did admire Kronos, but after all, Cronus was a seasoned veteran who had navigated the political and military worlds for many years. How could he possibly do so much just because of admiration?
Therefore, Amyrius originally intended to do what Kronos suggested regarding allies.
"Just one piece of paper, and he's Alliance with me? This kid's a bit lacking in business acumen."
Immediately after Amyrius uttered those words, he placed the second sheet of paper in the envelope in front of him and began to read it.

"I obtained this by chance, and I'm presenting it to the General today as a gift. But I must give the General a word of advice beforehand."
"This is Pathway Pathway that the Augustus Family has always focused on, as well as the Pathway of the Castiya Family of the Feynapotter Royal Family family, so we hope that the General has already figured out the source of this Potion Formula."
"If we cannot do it flawlessly and without arousing suspicion, then we hope the general will try his best not to leak it, as it will have a significant impact."
After leaving the Navy Base, Kronos only went back to Sharf's house, picked up his luggage, and headed straight for the Harbor.
Kronos had already bought his ship ticket two days ago and was setting off today.
When Kronos travels, it's naturally the most luxurious class on the ship; this room is in no way inferior to a large suite in a luxury Inn.
There were also special Servants' quarters, but Kronos no longer had the habit of bringing Servants.
The passenger ship traveled north, following the route that Kronos had taken when he went south, all the way back to the homeland of the Loen Kingdom.
Everything was fine, the only flaw was that they stopped in Bansy Harbor for one night. Kronos didn't dare to sleep that night, remaining fully armed the whole time, just in case something happened.
Fortunately, there was no major incident or danger.
Throughout the journey, Kronos would occasionally venture onto the deck for some fresh air, spending the rest of his time in his room studying the Justiciar Card, hoping to optimize a few more Spell.
This is precisely why the Potion is digested at a particularly fast rate.
After such a long sea voyage, more than four months later, Kronos finally saw the familiar Pritz Harbor once again from the deck of the passenger ship.
These ocean-going passenger ships cannot sail directly into the Tussock River, so passengers must transfer to land transportation in Pritz Harbor to reach Backlund.
By the time the ferry finally docked in Pritz Harbor, it was completely dark. At that point, the best option would have been to spend the night in Pritz Harbor and continue the journey the next day.
But Kronos couldn't wait any longer, so he rented a carriage and headed straight for Backlund.
Kronos did not inform his family before returning, and besides, the Argel Family's Manor was even further away, so his first choice was to return to Backlund.
The moment the carriage Backlund, another cause for celebration followed: Kronos clearly felt the Potion within his body completely digested.
This means that Kronos could become a Scroll Professor in the same Sequence as his father at any time.
The double joy filled Kronos with immense happiness and excitement, so he jumped out of the carriage and shouted loudly at the sky:
"Backlund, I'm back."
You know what, just shouting like that instantly calmed my excited mood.
However, the stares cast from the street made Kronos's face flush red instantly.
So he quickly climbed back into the carriage and instructed the driver to hurry to the Villa in the West Borough.
Of the Argel Family's several houses in Backlund, Kronos' favorite was the West Borough, where everything was decorated to his liking, so naturally he went straight back to the West Borough.
Since Kronos left Backlund, houses in Backlund have only had one or two servants left behind, except for houses in the Empress Borough which still have full furnishings.
So when Kronos arrived at the Villa in the West Borough, there were only two security guards and two servants in the house.
Kronos was grateful to his father for not replacing the staff, as they all recognized him, which allowed him to move into the house smoothly.
Even with only two servants, the house is still cleaned once a day, so there are absolutely no problems with living there.
Lying on his familiar bed, Kronos truly "fainted" in a second, and didn't regain Consciousness until nine o'clock the next morning.
Kronos didn't have many good friends in Backlund; at best, he was Professor Portland, who was both a mentor and a friend.
But the professor wasn't in a hurry, so after tidying up a bit, Kronos took his own carriage and headed to the Argel Manor on the outskirts of the city.
The only mistake was that Kronos collected a lot of trinkets while he was in the Southern Continent, intending to give them to his family as gifts when he returned.
However, these trinkets were probably destroyed by the Republic of Intis's Redfire Fleet Cannonball, so the gifts Kronos brought at this time were all from Bayam.
But it doesn't have much of an impact, since it's close by and many local specialties from the Southern Continent can be easily found in Bayam.
Upon arriving at the gates of their Manor, the Marquis Argel, the Marquise, and Little Annie were already waiting there, thanks to the presence of both overt and covert sentries.
"You silly child, you didn't even tell me you were coming back, you had to do this surprise attack." Kronos hadn't even gotten out of the car yet when he heard his mother's complaint.
"Your Excellency Marquise, your tone is hardly that of a noblewoman," Kronos said teasingly after jumping out of the carriage.
"Brother!" Before Kronos could even stand up straight, a small figure rushed towards him.
The figure was none other than Little Annie. After picking Annie up, Kronos asked, "Little Annie, did you miss your brother?"
"That depends on whether my brother brings Annie a gift," Little Annie said with a smug look.
Kronos laughed heartily, "I could forget anything but the gift for Annie!"
As he spoke, he pointed to the suitcase being carried by the Servants, "It's in there. I'll give it to Little Annie later."
Hearing this, Little Annie was delighted and kissed Kronos on the cheek, then said, "Then I miss my brother so much, so so much!"
"Since Annie misses her brother, then her brother misses Annie too." Kronos wasn't going to back down either, and gave Annie a playful peck on the cheek.
"Alright, stop being so lovey-dovey and come inside." These were the words of the Marquise.
Marquis Argel had already quietly gone inside after seeing that Kronos was alright.
Even now, neither the Marquise nor Little Annie knows what Kronos has gone through.
Marquis Argel bore all the pressure himself.
He was the one who agreed to his son going to sea, and he was the one who knew his son had been shelled. So, if something happened to his son, who should bear the responsibility and pressure?
It was undoubtedly him.
