Making scrolls
"As for that pen, it's an Beyonder Item called the Inscribing Pen. It was made using the Beyonder Characteristic Scroll Professor, and its ability to solidify can increase your chances of success."
Kronos knew about this Beyonder Item. Many years ago, the Argel Family used all the Scroll Professor the Beyonder Characteristic of the Astronomer and commissioned the Church of Steam and Machinery to create a batch of auxiliary Beyonder Item at great expense.
The two Beyonder Item are named the Inscribing Pen and the Starlight Crystal, respectively. They don't have any unique abilities on their own; they both exist to assist the Scroll Professor and the Astronomer.
The power of the Inscribing Pen lies in increasing the success rate of solidification. Starlight Crystal allow Astronomer to have greater control over starlight and use more skills.
To outsiders, these two Beyonder Item are nothing but trash, but to the Beyonder in their respective Sequence, they are divine support equipment.
Because of their unique abilities, the negative effects of these two Beyonder Item are also very minor; however, continued use will accumulate fatigue.
Therefore, their usage frequency is very high, far exceeding that of the Mystic Pouch.
Kronos weighed the pen in his hand and said, "It looks pretty good. I'll take it back and try it out later."
Marquis Argel nodded, then continued, "Do you have any plans for the future? What do you plan to do?"
Kronos did indeed have plans for this, so he said directly, "I'll familiarize myself with Scroll making at the Manor first. I plan to return to Backlund in a few days; I have other things to take care of there."
"I don't have your ability to control all the businesses in the entire Northern Continent just by sitting in the Manor. I feel it's better to be closer, that way I can have more control."
"Furthermore, I have my own idea regarding the role of the Scroll Professor. Since the title of this Sequence includes the identity of 'Professor,' do you think it would be more helpful for the role if I actually became a professor?"
Marquis Argel chimed in, "You want to apply for a university professorship? You're really aiming too high. Each department in a university only has one full professor; the rest are Associate Professor."
"Besides, with your qualifications, you can only apply for a lecturer position, not even Associate Professor, let alone a full professor."
Kronos was not surprised by this explanation and immediately expressed his own thoughts.
"Indeed, with my qualifications, I couldn't even get Associate Professor position, but now a really good opportunity is right in front of me."
"The Higher Education Committee is currently planning the reorganization of Backlund Technical College. The reorganized Backlund Technical University will no longer offer grammar and classical literature exams, focusing primarily on technical subjects."
"Professor Portland has joined the reorganization process, and according to him, he will join Backlund Technical University as its president after the reorganization."
Professor Portland did indeed write to Kronos about this, as Kronos's "only" friend in Backlund.
"So most universities probably wouldn't offer me Associate Professor, but Backlund Technical College, which will become Backlund Technical University in the future, might be a different story."
"With my current qualifications and background, plus Professor Portland's help, I can probably become Associate Professor at Backlund Technical College directly. By the time the college is successfully reorganized, the construction of the Ironclad will likely be completed. As the Technical Adviser for the Ironclad, I might even be able to become a full professor."
Seeing Kronos's smug look, Marquis Argel couldn't help but slap him in the face. "Associate Professor is bearable, but as a full professor, you'll be dealing with countless administrative tasks for the entire department every day. Are you sure you can handle it?"
Actually, Kronos was just getting a little carried away, which is why he added the last sentence: let alone whether he could do it, even if he could, Kronos's personality isn't the type to stay at a university for the rest of his life.
Kronos scratched his head, said nothing, and just gave Marquis Argel a silly grin.
Seeing Kronos's expression, Marquis Argel didn't bother to pursue the matter further and changed the subject.
"Your idea is good. Even if it doesn't help with the role, becoming Associate Professor is the best you can do. It will still be helpful in other ways, and you should also maintain some social connections."
"As for the Scroll making, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me. But remember to spend more time with your mother and Younger Sister these days; they've been very worried about you."
Kronos nodded. "Don't worry, I understand."
After the conversation ended, Kronos went straight to his room. The materials for making the Scroll were ready, but Kronos really had no experience at all, so he opened the experience manual.
This manual is really reliable; it details every step of making the Scroll.
Moreover, it includes instruction from the very beginning on how to use the Eyes of Mystery Prying to explore the Beyonder Ability of others.
In fact, this method has long been eliminated in the long river of history. It is the Ancient method that our family's Ancestor Abel brought from the Moses Ascetic Order.
The essence of the Mystery Pryer Pathway is to explore mysterious knowledge with the Eyes of Mystery Prying, so each Sequence should be completed by using the Eyes of Mystery Prying to fulfill the role-playing task.
However, with the development of the times, the exploration of mystery, which was mainly based on the eyes, has evolved into many other methods.
For example, the Argel Family has been employing an Beyonder for many years to unleash their skills countless times, and then amplifying their own Spirituality through Beyonder Item to experience the state of skill release and study the power and essence of the skill.
It must be admitted that the latter method is actually much more efficient than simply observing with the eyes.
However, Kronos still watched this "ancient method" with great interest; it's never a bad thing to learn more.
From observing skills to crafting Scroll by hand, and then using Inscribing Pen to solidify the skills onto the Scroll, Kronos meticulously studied every step, fearing that there might be any mistakes or omissions.
After studying the booklet, Kronos gently picked up the Spirituality materials piled in front of him.
It's called a Spirituality material, but it's actually just a type of tree that can be artificially cultivated. This tree isn't an ingredient in any Potion; it's just that it can absorb and generate a certain amount of Spirituality.
Compared to ordinary materials, it possesses a certain Spirituality, but it's still not enough for making Potion or crafting Beyonder Item.
Paper made from this tree became the perfect medium for Skill Scroll.
Wrap the paper around a wooden scroll, and a Scroll is complete.
The next and most important thing is to solidify it.
Kronos picked up the Inscribing Pen, then cleared his mind and began to recall the contents of the Justiciar Card.
The Justiciar Card is an extremely advanced concept for Kronos; it's impossible for him to fully understand it now, but there are parts he can still decipher.
When he was a Sequence 7, he couldn't understand the knowledge of High Sequence, but he could understand Sequence 6 relatively easily.
Judge in Sequence 6 of the Justiciar Pathway have a relatively large Sequence of skills.
"Prohibition," "Imprisonment," "Confinement," "Exile," "Whipping," "death," "Secrecy," and most importantly, the Making Rules.
Kronos has now chosen "Whipping," because he has experience studying the "Whip of Affliction," and "Whipping" allows him to apply the knowledge to other techniques.
This fixed state is quite similar to the state of Warlock casting a spell, so Kronos isn't actually as clumsy as one might imagine.
After Kronos's Spirituality completed the "Whipping" Spell according to his understanding of the skill, he immediately activated his solidified skill.
At the same time, the Inscribing Pen in Kronos's hand also began to glow, its unique ability activating and enhancing Kronos's solidification power.
Immediately afterwards, a Symbol appeared on the Scroll in front of Kronos. The Symbol flashed continuously on the Scroll, Symbol light flickering, indicating that the solidification skill had not yet been completely successful.
Less than five minutes later, the light on the Symbol stopped flashing completely and became constantly lit.
This means that Kronos's first experience making Scroll was a success, and at the same time, the Scroll Professor Potion that Kronos had just taken yesterday began to be digested at an accelerated pace.
This time, it wasn't just a Scroll that was made; it was also a Scroll that Kronos himself created.
Kronos carefully assessed the progress and thought it was not bad. He felt that he could probably digest about 70-80% of it in about a year, provided there were no other developments.
Kronos had already planned it out. Once he had digested the knowledge of Sequence 6 and Sequence 5 on the Justiciar Card, there was another Playing Cards he could use to devise a plan.
That's the Black Emperor Card! The Argel Family has such a good relationship with the Church of Steam and Machinery, it seems feasible to find an excuse to borrow it for research.
Kronos only intended to study it; he didn't plan to directly steal it, since this card had played a significant role in Mr. Fool's life.
Kronos was quite interested in the idea of intercepting the card, but he didn't know if the Playing Cards that originally belonged to Klein was specially prepared by someone. If he intercepted it and it came to the attention of some big shot, it would be a loss.
So he secretly took the cards, hid at home for a few days to study them, and at least figured out the knowledge below the level of Demigod. After that, he just needed to Record down the Potion Formula on them.
If it has other uses later, just switch it over when Klein no longer needs it.
