Returning to the Eye of Wisdom gathering
"Stop talking, or I'll start to believe you're right," Portland quickly stopped Kronos from speaking.
Kronos didn't care about that and continued with a grin, "Actually, you could really consider forming a deep partnership with me. I can expand this materials Research Center and build a mechanical Research Center, a materials Research Center, and so on. We can set up a Research Base together. Even Backlund University can't do that because they don't have that much money, but I do."
Portland knew about Kronos's seed funding, so he knew Kronos was telling the truth, but such a big decision couldn't be made on a whim.
Although the benefits are obvious, a decision can only be made after consultation with the Higher Education Committee.
So Portland quickly changed the subject. "How's your Potion digestion going? Is a year enough?"
Kronos knew he was changing the subject, but he didn't bring it up again.
"The efficiency is not bad. If we proceed step by step, we can finish digesting everything before this year's students graduate. Then I'll be Sequence 5." Kronos made no attempt to hide Portland's intentions regarding these matters.
Seeing Kronos's triumphant expression, Portland felt a pang of regret. He should have paid a little more attention to the Beyonder Pathway back then. Now that he was getting older, he was starting to feel less capable.
But he quickly dismissed the idea; if he had been distracted back then, there would be no great Scientists like Portland today.
He might become a powerful Demigod, or even have the chance to become a prominent figure in the Church of Steam and Machinery, but ultimately, it would be difficult for him to fulfill his ambitions.
But Portland today, through its own abilities, has already changed many people's lives.
So he felt it was all worth it.
Kronos clearly saw the change in Portland's expression and knew why, but since he was powerless to resolve it at the moment, he simply kept it in mind and would deal with it when the opportunity arose.
Having walked together through the newly built Research Center, Kronos's proposal carried even more weight in Portland's mind; after all, who wouldn't like such a Research Center?
Therefore, Kronos's plan to bring the entire Backlund Technical College, and even the Higher Education Committee, onto his the Chariot has succeeded another step.
In fact, over the past six months, Kronos has been intentionally or unintentionally building up countless allies for himself. Although he didn't have any ulterior motives, he did manage to improve relationships with some people.
The number of people on this the Chariot is increasing, and there might actually be an opportunity to take advantage of the chaos to do something. Even if it doesn't lead to a change of dynasty, it won't be a problem to gain a pivotal position.
However, it's a bit too early to consider this now. Kronos is just keeping things under wraps and doesn't have any clear plans.
After touring the entire Materials Research Center, Kronos saw Portland off in his carriage; he had to attend a meeting of the Higher Education Committee, so he couldn't stay long.
After seeing the people off, Kronos returned to the Research Center.
On the second floor of the Research Center, Kronos has his own room, which is not only his research room, but also fully equipped with all the necessities for home life.
After the Research Center was completed, Kronos lived here, where the conditions were no worse than in his own Villa, and he saved time commuting every day.
Back in his room, Kronos immediately took out the Justiciar Card and began to examine it closely.
It has been a month since Kronos returned to Backlund. Kronos has thoroughly studied all the abilities belonging to the Judge Sequence. His Scroll- making ability may still be a little lacking in proficiency, but it is all fine.
Therefore, at this point, Kronos had already focused his energy on the Sequence 5, the Disciplinary Paladin.
The abilities of the Disciplinary Paladin are mostly evolved versions of the Judge's abilities, but this cannot be successfully Replication simply by using more Spirituality.
So these past few days, Kronos has been busy with his research, even putting aside the making of the Scroll altogether.
But I can't go all out today, because I have something special to do.
Kronos saw Information in the newspaper about a gathering of Beyonder known only to the "Eye of Wisdom," so he decided to go and check it out today.
In fact, given his current Sequence, the gatherings of the "Eye of Wisdom" can no longer meet his needs, but just because the items traded cannot meet his needs doesn't mean the number of participants cannot.
The participants in this gathering were quite diverse, including Isengard Stanton from the Church of Knowledge, Darkwill from the School of Life, and a spokesperson for a mystical Artisan.
There are so many talented people out there, and each one of them is very useful to Kronos. So even if what they trade isn't very useful, they can still maintain a good relationship.
Kronos was studying until 6 p. m. when the Factory manager called him out.
This was arranged by Kronos himself, because if he were to continue engrossed in his research, he would certainly miss this gathering.
Having finished his research for the day, Kronos tidied himself up a bit and then left the Research Center.
Saint George District wasn't exactly close to the Bridge Borough, and it took Kronos a long time to travel by carriage, arriving at the party location just before eight o'clock.
Although Kronos had only been there once before, he hadn't forgotten the procedure, so he followed it and entered the gathering place.
The number of people at this gathering was less than the last time Kronos came, and the Apothecary whom Kronos was most concerned about was not present.
"Mr. Eye of Wisdom, didn't that Apothecary attend the gathering?" Kronos asked directly.
The Eye of Wisdom at Kronos for a while before saying, "It's you. It's been a long time since you've been here."
Although Kronos had only attended this gathering once, he had brought quite a surprise to the entire event, which is why the Eye of Wisdom recognized him.
Kronos hadn't expected the Eye of Wisdom to recognize him, but he still told the truth, "I was away from Backlund for a while, and I just got back."
The Eye of Wisdom nodded and said, "That Apothecary went on a journey with his teacher and has been away from Backlund for two months."
Upon hearing this, Kronos recalled for a moment and then realized that Darkwill first appeared in the original work in Tingen.
He used the alias Rosen Duckweed and ran a small shop called Rosen's Folk Herb Shop at 18 Lade, East Borough, Tingen City.
However, he later felt that he had become too famous, and many people would come seeking him out. Fearing that the official Beyonder would find him, he eventually transferred the shop to his Apprentice Shermin and then came to Backlund.
Perhaps Darkwill initially traveled with his teacher, Roy King of the School of Life, before leaving Backlund and arriving in Tingen City.
But since that person has already left, there's nothing we can do. It's a pity there's nowhere to buy the Potions.
In fact, Kronos was unaware that his name had already spread from the main gathering place of the Sanguine to Backlund a month earlier.
Because of this name, Marquis Nibais Audra, Executives Sanguine in Backlund, was specially awakened from his slumber.
In his letter, Duke of the Full Moon Olmer of the Full Moon specifically instructed Nibais to take good care of this man named Kronos Argel if the opportunity arose.
Having lived for so long, Nibais naturally knew the name of the Argel Family, so he quickly found out who Kronos was after making a few inquiries.
Right now, a Sequence 5 Scarlet Scholar named Ernes Boyar has been hiding by Kronos's side.
So if Kronos wanted Potions, hundreds or even thousands of Vampire would make it for him in the next moment. It would be enough for him to not only use it himself, but also to make a fortune.
Of course, Kronos knew nothing about this.
This was something Olmer specifically instructed: you can help quietly, but it's best not to reveal it.
So, without realizing it, Kronos gained a powerful ally: even though Grand Duke Olmer wasn't in Backlund, Nibais Audra was a Sequence 3 High Summoner.
In Backlund, all factions assumed that the Angel would not enter.
Therefore, apart from the Angel of the Augustus Family, the Marquis Nibais is the pinnacle of power; even the Archbishop of the True God Churches are only at this level.
"Mr. Eye of Wisdom, I also wanted to ask, is the person I stood up last time here today?"
Before leaving Backlund, Kronos had intended to commission the mysterious Artisan to forge a weapon, but due to the Black Skull Gang, Kronos hid in his Their Manor and thus did not keep the appointment.
The Eye of Wisdom is a Sequence 7 Keeper of Knowledge, so naturally it would not forget this matter.
So he pointed to one of them and said, "The one from last time isn't here, but you can talk to him."
Kronos then understood that the Artisan had changed his representative again, because after entering the gathering, he had used his Eyes of Mystery Prying around and found no one familiar, not even the Black Snake who had tried to scam him and sell him the Secrets Suppliant formula.
But now that he had found the Artisan's representative, Kronos went straight to the point and invited, "Would you be interested in having a chat? I'd like to invite the person behind you to create an Beyonder Item."
In fact, Kronos now has permission to enter the family Treasury, where the Beyonder Item are dazzling, but Kronos wants to keep the Artisan under his control, so there always needs to be some bait.
