After his conversation with Philip ended, Kronos left the banquet venue.

Philip will be staying in Backlund for a while after his return, so the two agreed to go hunting together.

For some time afterward, the two would likely meet frequently, including at the military commendation ceremony three days later, followed by a hunting trip, and perhaps more.

So there's no need to worry about this little bit of time tonight.

Kronos got into the carriage and returned to his house in Empress Borough.

Since it was getting late, and Empress Borough and Saint George District are quite far apart, staying here was the best option.

The next morning, the Butler of Marquis Argel arrived at the house in Empress Borough.

They happened to run into Kronos, who was returning from his morning exercise.

"Why are you here? Is there a problem?" Logically speaking, the Butler and Secretariat should be extremely busy at this time, so how could they possibly have time to look for him?

Seeing Kronos's hands-off attitude, the Butler said impatiently, "Of course, it's to let you see the subsequent information."

Kronos waved his hand and said, "I already told you, these things are all yours. I don't have time to deal with them."

"I can handle all the ordinary businesses, but not the Kain. You need to understand it yourself; I can't make that decision on my own," the Butler said firmly.

Actually, no one had ever made such a rule, but the Butler believed that Kain was the Marquis of Marquis Argel's trump card, and he would only feel at ease if he were handed over to Kronos.

So he handed over a stack of files and continued, "Here are the detailed information on Kain Bank and Kain Club. Because it's an independent entity, it was thoroughly organized within this short period. As for the more visible businesses, they'll need some more time to be organized."

Upon hearing this, Kronos quickly took the files and said, "You've brought all of these over, so I'll take a look. But don't send me any more of the other publicly known businesses, or I won't even look at them."

The Butler was clearly adept at using threats; with just one sentence, he made Kronos surrender.

This was precisely the Butler's intention, and since Kronos accepted it, he naturally wouldn't push his luck.

"Alright, take your time looking through it. If there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me anytime. Also, at the very end of this file is my preliminary relocation plan. Take a look at that too, and if you have any ideas later, you can come and discuss them with me." The Butler said with a smile to Kronos.

The smile looked kind, but it actually made Kronos break out in a cold sweat.

He turned and left, muttering to himself, "How wicked! He wants me to work more? What a pipe dream."

The Butler overheard this and shook his head with a smile.

Back in his room, Kronos placed the file on the Table and began to study it carefully.

This file was clearly compiled by the Butler with care, as it contained more than just information about the structure and financial data of the Kain Bank and Club.

One of them is a description of the entire development of Kain from the author's perspective.

This was clearly written by the Butler himself, and it details the Marquis Argel and the entire process of creating Kain.

"Sigh, this is well-intentioned, but it's really not very useful to me," Kronos sighed.

He and Marquis Argel had reached a consensus: Kronos would not get involved in the family business and would only need to focus on developing his own strength.

However, the Butler was genuinely unaware of this matter, which is why he went to such lengths to train him.

The Butler meant well, so Kronos didn't refuse outright and had no choice but to take the files back and examine them carefully.

While reading these files, Kronos suddenly saw a somewhat familiar name— Patrick Jason.

Isn't this the same Devil who assassinated Duke Negan a second time and ultimately succeeded?

Patrick Jason's real name is Jason Beria. He is a member of the Beria Family, one of the three major Devil families that believe in the Dark Side of the Universe, and Sequence 5 of the Abyss Pathway - Desire Apostle.

The original story states that he was a shareholder of a small bank, but it was unexpected that Kronos would see his name on the shareholder list of his own Kain Bank.

This person is quite rare, because people who use the Abyss Pathway are hard to find, and Beyonder Item from this Pathway are also rare.

This rare Pathway contains an Beyonder Ability that Kronos greatly covets: the Malice Perception.

Malice Perception: also known as anticipation of danger. If the other party can cause fatal harm to him in a very short period of time and take action, he can sense it, perceive it, and grasp where and from whom the danger comes, so as to nip it in the bud or retaliate in a targeted manner, but he has no way of knowing the specific details.

This is Beyonder Ability possessed by Sequence 6 Devil, and for Sequence 5 demon like Desirester, this ability will only be more powerful.

So when Kronos saw this person's name, he couldn't take his eyes off him; he was extremely envious.

Upon closer examination, Kronos could indeed be a formidable Devil hunter.

The most important thing in dealing with Devil is to avoid their Malice Perception; otherwise, many traps and schemes will fall through.

Therefore, the reason Klein was able to kill Jason Beria was simply because of a coincidence, coupled with the Black Emperor Card providing some degree of cover.

However, Kronos's Concealment of Time is a rather ruthless counter to this power.

The Concealment of Time is equivalent to taking Kronos away from the current Timeline, so the two are not on the same time plane, and naturally, they cannot perceive any Malice Perception.

Therefore, Kronos was born with the means to hunt down Jason Beria.

He just didn't expect that the bank described as a small bank in the original story would actually be his own Kain Bank.

After flipping through Kain Bank's financial reports, Kronos rolled his eyes. A bank with such a large turnover being classified as a small bank could only be guilty of financial fraud.

As the young master of this bank, the financial reports I received couldn't possibly be fake, so the only thing that could be fake is the information that's known to outsiders.

Now that Kain Bank and the Club are both relocating, such a major decision must be communicated with all shareholders, and at least the support of the majority of shareholders should be obtained.

Of course, the plan outlined by the Butler later involved an even more brutal approach: to buy back all the external shares and gain complete control of Kain's stock before making the decision to relocate.

Given this arrangement, Jason Beria becomes irrelevant; he can simply be killed.

Kronos's mind was now filled with thoughts of "killing him." Jason Beria should have sensed this if anyone else had such thoughts, which meant that Kronos was able to block his senses.

Calming his mind, Kronos began to recall specific Information about this Desire Apostle.

He is the owner of the Backlund Devil Dog. His true appearance is that of a man of medium build with slightly curly brown hair and cold brown eyes, who appears to be in his thirties. After using human skin to disguise his appearance, he has high cheekbones, a pair of cold blue eyes, ordinary features, and neatly combed hair, without any distinctive features.

He lived at 6 Edward Street in Backlund West Borough. According to his neighbors, he was a cheerful, enthusiastic, and optimistic middle-aged man who had never married but was believed to have had several mistresses. In reality, Patrick Jason was clear-headed and calm, but also had a strong tendency towards madness and a spirit of adventure; he was a true Devil.

After Ikanser Bernard led the Machinery Hivemind team to locate Jason's residence, they discovered a large number of corpses in the Basement, walls, and garden of his house. The earliest of these corpses may have been dating back more than a decade, while the latest were Servants who had been alive just days before.

With so much Information, Kronos should be able to find this person.

However, they can't hire Detective for this operation, since if Detective develops any unfriendly intentions towards him, it will be discovered immediately.

With that thought in mind, Kronos took the file and walked straight out of the room.

"Prepare the carriage; I'm going to stay in the West Borough."

Although the Argel Family's house in the West Borough wasn't on Edward Street, it wasn't too far away; at least Kronos could pass by it during his morning run.

This is an excellent opportunity to gradually learn about the area around the house in order to make a plan.

After all, he was a Sequence 5, while Kronos was only Sequence 6 at the time. If he hadn't been able to shield himself from Malice Perception, Kronos would never have so readily decided to scheme against this Desire Apostle.

The Abyss Pathway is one of the most versatile attack Pathway. Although its attack power may not be as strong as the strongest Sequence, it is definitely the strongest below them.

Therefore, Kronos decided to be more cautious and take at least ten days to half a month to understand the situation before considering the next step.

Therefore, Kronos specifically sent his Servants to the house in the Saint George District to bring over the remaining materials for making the Scroll.

There's a fixed time each day to collect and analyze Jason's intelligence, but you can't spend all your time tailing him. Even if he doesn't have Malice Perception, people will still notice.

So you can continue making Scroll at other times, which will not delay either hunting Jason or your Potion digestion process.
