A Manor in Desi County

A middle-aged man, his eyes red, said to an elderly man, "Father, why won't you avenge your grandson?"

The old man gazed out the window and said meaningfully, "Didn't I warn you? But you insisted on obeying your wife, indulging her in choosing other Pathway, and allowing her to live alone outside."

"What does it matter? Are you really willing to risk your grandson's life just to spite me?"

The old man closed his eyes. "This is not out of spite, but the guidance of Fate. I tried to pull his Fate back, but you refused. So let him bear the Punishment of Fate."

"What nonsense about Fate and Punishment! I am your eldest son, and he is your eldest grandson. How could you be so heartless?"

The old man didn't say anything more, but simply waved his hand, signaling the middle-aged man to leave.

Seeing that he didn't answer at all, the middle-aged man picked up an ornament from the table, smashed it hard on the ground, and then turned and left.

Just as he was about to leave the room, a voice came from behind him. "Don't leave Desi County for the next three years. This is the guidance of Fate. You are Winner of Sequence 5, and you can probably sense it. If you leave, I won't avenge you."

After a journey of some time, Kronos returned to the Argel Manor.

The first thing he did upon arriving at the Manor was to look for the Artisan Roel.

"Boss, what's the matter?" asked Roel, who had been led out of the Workshop by Kronos.

I wonder if all Artisan are this ruthless to themselves; Sharf of Bayam is like that, and so is Roel in front of me.

Since arriving at the Argel Manor, he hasn't had a proper night's sleep, only getting three or four hours of rest each day, spending the rest of his time studying the Beyonder Item in the Storeroom.

This led Roel's daughter to believe that Kronos had issued some impossible order, which had driven Roel to this point, and she almost turned against Kronos.

In the end, it was Roel himself who persuaded his daughter, thus preventing a major incident.

In his own words, he's a Unorthodox Path and it's rare for him to encounter so many good things.

Previously, he made a living by selling Extraordinary Weapon, but he lacked both Beyonder Characteristic as raw materials and knowledge of how to craft Beyonder Item.

Now that the Argel Family can offer him the best possible conditions, he naturally wants to do even better.

Kronos placed yesterday's spoils directly in front of Roel: five Beyonder Characteristic and one Demigod bone.

"These are my spoils of war, not family property. You can use them to experiment; I have the authority to make the decision."

Over time, Kronos had heard that Roel was hesitant to use the Beyonder Characteristic in the Storeroom for practice, even though Kronos had said he had the authority to decide these things; he remained cautious.

That's why Kronos said that—to put his mind at ease.

Then Kronos continued, "You can see it yourself, so I won't explain it to you. Use the Beyonder Characteristic of Hypnotist, Soul Assurer, and Wind-blessed as you please; they're useless against me."

"But I hope you'll be more cautious with the rest. This Pathway is quite rare. I hope you can practice your skills well with the Beyonder Characteristic of the Fire Thief and the Dream Stealer, and finally use that Demigod's bone to forge something good for me."

Kronos stated his needs very frankly; ever since he subdued Roel, he had admired the Artisan's character.

He works very hard in his field and is not arrogant or domineering, so he deserves to be treated with sincerity by Kronos.

After listening to Kronos's words, Roel bent down and carefully observed the Beyonder Characteristic of the Fire Thief and the Dream Stealer.

This Pathway item was very attractive to Kronos, and equally coveted by Roel.

After watching Roel observe for a long time before finally setting down the two Beyonder Characteristic items, Kronos asked, "So? Are you confident?"

Roel didn't speak, but picked up the Demigod's bone and continued reading. Kronos Consciousness Roel was still lost in his own thoughts and hadn't heard him, so he didn't say anything more.

After a long while, Roel finally let out a long sigh, then put down the Demigod's bones and said to Kronos, "They're all good things, but I really have no confidence in them."

"The Fire Thief's Beyonder Characteristic isn't particularly difficult for me, but there's still a possibility of failure. If I succeed, this experience will greatly help me create Beyonder Item for the Dream Stealer."

"Only after successfully completing the crafting of these two Sequence of items can I make a reasonable inference about the crafting process that follows."

"As you should know, the Beyonder Characteristic beings above the Demigod are beyond the reach of Artisan. Fortunately, this bone is a part of that, so I feel I still have a chance to craft it into an Beyonder Item."

"However, I can't estimate what it will turn into or what the success rate will be right now; we need to draw conclusions after practical testing."

Kronos liked this methodical and logical explanation, so he said, "It's alright, just go ahead and try. While I want a good, Beyonder Item, I also know that such things can always fail."

"Even if we don't succeed, it's not a big deal. At worst, I'll go back and work on the Beyonder Characteristic, and we can start over."

Then, as if suddenly remembering something, Kronos said, "I have another copy of the Fire Thief's Beyonder Characteristic. Don't be afraid of failure. If you don't succeed the first time, come back to me, and I'll give you a second copy."

Kronos would no longer consider using Yodsen's Marionette to infiltrate the Hermits of Fate; it was too Spirituality taxing, and anything below the Demigod simply couldn't sustain it.

Besides, he received two Hermits of Fate Badge yesterday, and he doesn't know if his qualification will be revoked due to the death of a member.

Furthermore, he had no intention of attending this organization's gathering in the near future; what if he encountered Demigod seeking revenge?

Kronos will either stay at the Manor awaiting Roel's Beyonder Item or return to his residence in Saint George District of Backlund.

His own Manor has a Small Church that could attract the attention of the God of Steam and Machinery, which might make Demigod hesitate to act. As for the Saint George District, both his Villa and the Research Center are not far from the Saint Hilleran Cathedral, so he should lay low for now.

After listening to Kronos's words, Roel said, "If the Fire Thief's Beyonder Characteristic has two parts, then I can almost certainly complete it once. With this experience, the Dream Stealer's Beyonder Characteristic shouldn't be wasted either. As for the Demigod bone, I can only say I'll do my best."

Kronos smiled and said, "It's alright. If you can't forge it, don't force it. We can do it later."

Actually, there's a very reliable way for Kronos: go find the people at Saint Hilleran Cathedral. There are many experienced people in the Church of Steam and Machinery who can probably complete this Beyonder Item.

However, Kronos still had concerns. Marquis Argel had once said that some ordinary Beyonder Item could be crafted at Saint Hilleran Cathedral, but strategically valuable items should be avoided.

They wouldn't refuse to help, but they have secretly destroyed things before, so their reputation is terrible.

If they were willing to openly accept money for their services, unskilled Artisan wouldn't be so sought after.

Anyway, after handing Western Capital over to Roel, Kronos left. There was no point in learning how to craft Beyonder Item, and watching was pointless.

Before returning to his room, Kronos specifically ordered someone to go back to Backlund and bring Qing to the Manor.

It always takes time for Roel to create Beyonder Item, so Kronos decided to take this opportunity to completely tame Qing and then help it become Paranormal Creature.

Back in his room, Kronos did nothing else but continue his "Scroll project."

The Chaos Scroll had already been refined by Kronos once again. Although it still didn't feel as smooth, it was much better.

According to Kronos's own estimation, the blueprints for perfecting this skill should not be far off.

Moreover, he had already arrived at the Manor, and he remembered that there seemed to be an Beyonder Item in the Manor's Storeroom that corresponded to the Mentor of Disorder. He could try it out later, which might be more helpful for his improvement.

The Sun had just set when the people sent to fetch Qing returned to the Manor. As soon as the cage was opened, Qing flew familiarly to the window of Kronos's room.

With its strength, Qing could easily pass through the window, but Kronos had taught it this, so it didn't do so. Instead, it stopped by the window and gently tapped on it with its beak.

The knocking sound caught Kronos's attention, and when he turned around, he saw Qing by the window.

Kronos immediately opened the window, letting Qing in. He gently stroked Qing's feathers and said, "Wait a moment, I'll get you something good."

After saying that, he took the trophy from the shelf behind him.

She held the porcelain bowl in her hand, then showed it to Qing, asking, "How do you feel? Do you like it?"

Qing pecked at the bowl with its beak and then chirped twice.

In the past, such a cry would have been completely useless to Kronos, as he couldn't understand it.

But today was different. Although he still heard the cry of an eagle, the sound directly transmitted Information to Kronos's brain, and he understood the cry.

"What is this thing? It's so hard, and you can't even eat it. What's so good about it? I'd rather have some strips of meat."
