Fully digesting the potion
Each use of the Parasitic Bone consumes one Beyonder Ability.
So Kronos really doesn't have many opportunities to use it. The Hermit Pathway itself has few Beyonder Ability. Apart from the Eyes of Mystery Prying, there's basically nothing else, maybe with the addition of the Scroll Professor character.
If Kronos were to use it now, the inscription would be gone after one use, and the Scroll Professor's ability would be useless. If he used it twice, the Eyes of Mystery Prying would also be gone, and Kronos would become an ordinary person with relatively good physical abilities.
Seeing the shocked expressions on Kronos and Todd's faces, Roel felt particularly embarrassed. He naturally knew how outrageous the negative effects were. It wasn't just a matter of danger anymore; after using it a few times, no one would be dangerous anymore.
After recovering from the shock, Kronos asked weakly, "Are you sure this thing will actually work?"
Roel lowered his head in shame.
"Alright, it's already come to this, what else can we do? At worst, I'll go back and ask the Church of Steam and Machinery if they have any solutions." Seeing Roel's guilt, Kronos said "unconcernedly."
Although Roel was unaware of the complex relationship between the Argel Family and the Church of Steam and Machinery, he knew that the reason Kronos had commissioned him to create this Beyonder Item was because he didn't want the Church of Steam and Machinery to know about it.
So Roel hesitated for a moment, then said, "Boss, how about this? Give me some time off, and I'll go see my teacher to see if he can handle this. If my teacher can't do it either, then you can ask the Church of Steam and Machinery."
Kronos smiled genuinely; he could sense that Roel was revealing some "secrets" to him.
Kronos readily agreed, saying, "Sure, no problem at all. If you can make a profit, that would be perfect."
Roel immediately said, "Then I'll set off now. I heard from the people at the Manor that we'll be moving to Midseashire soon. Why don't I go directly to Midseashire then? We'll meet there."
Kronos nodded. "No problem. At the current pace, everything in the Manor will be packed up in less than a month, and then we'll leave. If you manage your time well, no one in Midseashire will recognize you, and you won't be able to find the family's location."
Roel didn't speak, he just nodded.
Seeing that Roel had taken his words to heart, Kronos said to Todd, "Mr. Todd, I'll trouble you to see Roel off. I have other matters to attend to."
After the two left, Kronos looked at the Parasitic Bone in front of him and smiled bitterly. He really hadn't expected that he would create such an Beyonder Item.
After a moment of contemplation, Kronos locked the Beyonder Item in a safe and then continued his research into the skill.
About three hours later, Todd returned. As soon as he entered the house, he asked Kronos mysteriously, "Guess where Roel is going?"
Kronos glanced at him and then said, "He told you?"
Todd chuckled. "He didn't say the specifics, but he did mention the general location."
"For you to come to me so mysteriously, this position must be quite interesting." Kronos stroked his chin.
After pondering for a moment, Kronos guessed, "Either he went to the Midseashire —such a coincidence would excite you so much—or he went to another country. Since he's Artisan, he probably went to the Republic of Intis."
Todd gave a thumbs up and said, "Impressive! He said he's going to the Republic of Intis Republic of Intis, and he said he grew up there."
Kronos said nonchalantly, "That makes perfect sense. Otherwise, where would they get this Pathway of Potion?"
Todd said worriedly, "If he went to the Republic of Intis, finding him will be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Why didn't you suggest sending someone to follow him?"
Kronos glanced at Todd, then laughed, "He didn't even mention taking his daughter with him, so why should I suggest sending someone along? There are indeed people in this world who abandon their children for certain purposes, but Roel isn't that kind of person."
Todd pursed his lips and didn't say anything more. He didn't quite agree with the view, but since Kronos had made the decision, there was no need to argue to find out who was right or wrong.
Kronos saw through Todd's thoughts, but smiled and didn't say anything.
Todd's Pathway dictates that his way of thinking and doing things will lean towards intrigue and scheming, so Kronos doesn't care; it's all normal.
In any case, Marquis Argel had said that the two Sequence 5 he left behind were trustworthy, so even through this Pathway, Kronos would not doubt his father's words.
"Mr. Todd, what are your plans for today? I do have some important things to do. How about I find someone to show you around Backlund?"
Todd waved his hand. "What's there to play? Don't worry about me. I'm going straight back to the Manor in a bit. The things in the Storeroom are being packed and organized, and I need to go back and help."
Since Marquis Argel gave the order to begin preparations for the relocation, the Manor has been organizing everything there. Other miscellaneous items are not a problem; there are things here that the Midseashire also has, so it doesn't matter whether you bring them or not.
However, the items in the Storeroom must be taken away; otherwise, two Sequence 5 will have to take turns guarding this place.
The materials are all fine; even an ordinary person could handle the handling and packing, and there shouldn't be any problems.
However, the Beyonder Item and Sealed Artifact deep inside are different. The negative effects of Beyonder Item are relatively controllable; basically, you won't have any problems if you don't use them.
However, Sealed Artifact are different. Some of them have serious negative effects that begin the moment they are picked up, so it is best to have them handled by a more powerful Beyonder.
So for the past few days, the Beyonder in the Manor have been helping out in the Storeroom.
Seeing that Todd already had plans, Kronos didn't stand on ceremony any longer.
After exchanging a few words, Todd left.
After Todd left, Kronos was able to devote more energy to Scroll making.
Based on the Rules, and in comparison with the Chaos Bracelet and the Black Emperor Card, the previous Design Plan was finalized.
This process completely engulfed Kronos.
Actually, the Sequence 5 Skill Scroll that Kronos made before were quite different from this Chaos scroll. Only this Chaos scroll was something that Kronos created from scratch, bit by bit.
That is precisely why this Chaos Scroll should provide the greatest benefit to Kronos's Potion digestion progress.
Kronos got so caught up in it that it was already 2 a. m. when he came to his senses.
Looking at the Design Plan in front of him, Kronos felt genuinely satisfied.
Although he hadn't tried the plan yet, the moment he finished, Kronos knew that the Scroll was complete and his plan was sound.
After stretching, Kronos walked Gate of his Laboratory.
He did not choose to attempt to create the Scroll now because he knew that, in his current state, there was absolutely no possibility of it being completed.
After such a long and arduous design process, Kronos is now physically exhausted and not very Spirituality sharp; it would be strange if he could succeed.
So what he needs now is to replenish his energy and rest properly. Once he's in top condition, he might be able to finish the Scroll in one go and also digest his Potion.
As for familiarizing himself with the Design Plan, other skills might be necessary, but for this one, Kronos didn't need to go through that process at all. He designed it from scratch bit by bit, so there was no need for him to go through the process of familiarizing himself with it.
Upon entering the Research Center's cafeteria, Kronos saw food displayed in a steamer.
This is Professor Portland specifically instructed us to have. It's not that researchers work themselves to the bone, but when they're really caught up in a problem, they can't control how long they'll be working.
Missing meal or rest time is a common occurrence, which is why there are rest rooms in the Laboratory, and hot food is always available in the cafeteria.
When Portland told Kronos about this idea, he was very proud of himself because Backlund University didn't have this facility.
Therefore, many people who are busy until midnight can only go home or back to their dormitories on an empty stomach.
Although Backlund is a bustling place, none of its restaurants stay open until late at night. If you want something to eat at this time, you'll have to cook for yourself.
So Portland's decision was really wise, Kronos thought to Portland as he ate his food.
Two days later, after Kronos felt he was fully prepared, Kronos picked up his Inscribing Pen, having just returned from his morning exercise, and began experimenting with his new design on a brand new Scroll.
Kronos didn't touch the Inscribing Pen for the past two days, instead focusing on advancing the New Materials Project and even giving his assistant several new ideas.
What he really wanted to verify was that completing this Chaos Scroll would be incredibly easy for him now.
Although there wasn't a long familiarization process, the one I designed myself was the best familiarization process.
Holding the Inscribing Pen in his hand, his Design Plan emerged in his mind. At this moment, Kronos was not only familiar with each step that followed, but also with the meaning of each step and the role that each step could play.
As the action began, Kronos was pleasantly surprised to find that this Scroll consumed very little of his resources, even less than a Sequence 6 Skill Scroll.
During the creation process, Kronos could clearly feel that he had entered the zone, but he was also very certain that in this state, he was no longer as out of control as before.
Previously, every time he entered this state, it was as if Kronos was being pushed along by the state, and he would only exit naturally after completing the creation of the Scroll.
But at this moment, Kronos could clearly sense that he could exit this state at any time if he wanted to.
Kronos did not know what caused this situation to occur.
Is it because I've entered this state many times that I can control it?
Or is it because he knows this Scroll so well that he did it this way?
Kronos was certain that once he completed this Scroll, he would have completely digested all the Potion within him, but he was equally certain that he had not yet fully understood the Sequence.
The other Scroll Professor didn't have this advantage: using Sequence 5 Beyonder Item to experience it, and having two Blasphemy Card to provide ideas.
Therefore, even if they stay in this Sequence for decades, they can only research one or two new Scroll. So they can only explore the mysteries of this Sequence little by little in order to digest the Potion more quickly.
Kronos, however, took a completely different path.
With these supporting conditions, Kronos researched one Sequence 5 Skill Scroll after another. Although the progress provided by the research Scroll was decreasing, it was still enough for Kronos to fully digest them.
Therefore, it is understandable that Kronos conducted less research in other areas.
Kronos's mind raced, but his hands moved with perfect precision. As the last stroke fell, a flash of light appeared on the Scroll.
After several months, the Chaos Scroll was finally born in Kronos's hands.
As the Scroll was completed, Kronos felt a refreshing sensation from the inside out, as if his entire body had become clear and transparent in an instant, as if a burden had been lifted from his shoulders.
The Scroll Professor's Potion has finally been completely digested, Kronos is ready to advance to the Astronomer at any time.
No wonder Marquis Argel was so eager for promotion. How long did it take Kronos to level the Sequence? If the Marquis had been even a little slower, his son would have beaten him to it.
Kronos himself knew the Astronomer's Potion Formula and the Advancement Ritual, and Kronos felt that with his ability to Concealment of Time, even if he wasn't under the watchful eye of the God of Steam and Machinery, the Hidden Sage wouldn't be able to find him.
But after thinking about it, I decided against it. The Advancement Ritual wasn't easy to handle, and if I took such a risk, my parents would probably complain when I got back to Midseashire. So I decided to wait until I got to Midseashire to deal with it, which would save me the trouble of figuring out how to complete the Advancement Ritual.
Having made up his mind, Kronos then prepared to test one of his conjectures.
Setting aside the still-warm Scroll that had just come out of the pot, Kronos picked up a blank Scroll and, without hesitation, began to inscribe the Chaos skill on it.
This was something Kronos had never tried before, because he had no feeling he could succeed.
After Kronos successfully created a Sequence 5 Scroll for the first time, he collapsed into his chair and meditated for a long time before recovering.
As he crafted more Sequence 5 Scroll, Kronos perhaps became more skilled, or perhaps his body simply adapted to the increased demands; in any case, he felt much better after completing them.
However, this so-called improvement is only in comparison to being completely paralyzed on the spot; the condition is barely maintained at the level that does not affect normal life.
Basically, after each creation, Kronos's Spirituality was almost completely depleted, so of course, there was no idea to immediately create a second one; the circumstances simply didn't allow it.
But today is different. Due to his special condition today, Kronos's Spirituality was less than half depleted, and in fact, due to the complete digestion of the Potion, a significant amount of his Spirituality was replenished.
As for his physical condition, it was even better than his Spirituality condition; Kronos didn't feel tired at all.
Because of these special circumstances, Kronos had the idea of trying again.
With the activation of Kronos's Inscription skill and the enhancement of the Inscribing Pen, he quickly entered a state of focus.
This entry also confirms that the previous one was not an exception, because he now has the ability to control himself and exit this state at any time.
As time passed, Kronos meticulously completed every step of the Design Plan, and the second Chaos Scroll was successfully Kronos.
However, after completing this creation, Kronos experienced another feeling of exhaustion. The second creation had drained Kronos's physical and Spirituality, so he collapsed directly into his chair.
