Manipulation Gloves
Under the Curse of Time, the Skeleton Warrior's protective stance was practically nonexistent, and the arrow barely consumed any of its power.
But this Greatsword is different; its metal material is unaffected by the Curse.
Even so, the third arrow pierced the sword, its tip embedding itself between the Skeleton Warrior's eyebrows.
If Kronos were facing a living person, this attack would certainly be fatal.
Unfortunately, the Skeleton Warrior had no physical body, so even if his skull was pierced, it wouldn't damage his brain. Besides, the arrow had only penetrated an inch into his skull.
When Kronos saw the Skeleton Warrior draw his greatsword, he knew that this arrow was unlikely to end the battle, so after firing the third arrow, Kronos immediately gripped the Big Dipper Sword and charged towards the Skeleton Warrior.
Although this Skeleton Warrior's combat skills were unparalleled, Kronos wanted to take advantage of the Curse of Time effect and defeat him immediately.
The distance between them wasn't far, so Kronos arrived in front of the Skeleton Warrior in the blink of an eye.
He had calculated the timing perfectly; with the Curse still in effect for one second, he could still launch an attack.
So without the slightest hesitation, Kronos thrust his sword fiercely towards the Skeleton Warrior.
Everything that has happened before has proven that even with the Curse of Time, the Skeleton Warrior is not without power.
Although it was too late for him to draw his sword and parry, he might not even have the strength to block Kronos's sword.
However, superb combat skills don't come easily; the Skeleton Warrior thrust his sword forward, aiming for Kronos's chest.
Since he couldn't block it, he decided not to; the Skeleton Warrior simply chose to perish together with the enemy.
He was indeed not very strong, but Kronos's defenses were also not very high.
Even just based on the sharpness of that sword, such a blow would have been enough to inflict a penetrating wound on Kronos.
If the injury had been to his limbs or even his abdomen, Kronos, with his Vampire’s Heart, was confident he could recover.
However, if it landed on his chest, it could destroy Kronos's heart, and he had little chance of surviving.
However, Kronos had also been through some battles, so he wasn't completely helpless.
A dark gray color emanated from Kronos's chest, followed by a chaotic mess.
This is the skill that Kronos left in the Star Sand, and it's the one he's most familiar with—chaos.
The sword was already too close; even if the chaos could deflect the attack, Kronos didn't think he could dodge it directly.
He was simply thinking that as long as the sword didn't land on his heart, he would have succeeded.
As expected, under the chaotic effect, the Skeleton Warrior's sword shifted from Kronos's left chest to his right, piercing right through him.
Meanwhile, Kronos's Big Dipper Sword pierced deeply into the skull of the Skeleton Warrior.
Kronos swung his sword fiercely, slicing off half of the Skeleton Warrior's Half of the Skull, and the helmet fell off as well.
I thought that since the game had progressed this far, it should be over by now.
But Sequence 5 is really hard to kill. Kronos could clearly feel the sword in his chest still exerting force.
Kronos quickly swung the Big Dipper Sword at the Skeleton Warrior's shoulder, trying to knock his hand off.
Although the Skeleton Warrior had been freed from the Curse of Time, he was unlikely to be in good condition. He was first shot through the forehead by an arrow, and then Half of the Skull was cut off.
Therefore, Kronos's sword strike achieved its intended effect, causing the Skeleton Warrior to release his grip on the sword.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Kronos quickly retreated, "carrying" the Greatsword to his chest, and retreated five meters away.
Kronos looked at the swaying Skeleton Warrior in front of him. He could tell at a glance that the warrior was almost out of consciousness. He could barely stand, and even if he could hold on for a few more minutes, he would be too weak to fight.
Therefore, Kronos did not intend to continue the attack, but instead cautiously continued to retreat, preparing to wear down his opponent with time. After all, his own condition was not good, and there was no need to continue to fight desperately.
Just as Kronos took a step back, he saw the Skeleton Warrior's head move, and then a Color of Dawn appeared, coalescing into a Two-Handed Greatsword in front of him.
Even Kronos was shocked. Could he continue fighting in this state?
However, he didn't know that if he were facing a person, being injured to this extent, even if he miraculously survived, he would absolutely be unable to continue fighting.
However, he was facing a skeleton, and while his condition wasn't great, there were no negative effects like pain affecting him, so he could definitely deliver a desperate blow.
After the Sword of Dawn condensed, the Skeleton Warrior tremblingly raised his right hand, gently grasped the greatsword, and then prepared to plunge it into the ground.
The Argel Family has the deepest understanding of the God of Combat Pathway, so Kronos immediately knew what skill his opponent was going to use—it must be Storm of Light.
At this point, Kronos no longer cared about the sword in his chest; it wouldn't kill him for the time being. The Storm of Light was what was truly deadly.
He pulled a Scroll from his pocket and activated the skill within, then activated the Chaos Bracelet on his left hand.
Because Astronomer cannot use Mystic Pouch, the Scroll that Kronos carried on this voyage were limited, and they were basically all for the same skill: Armor of Guardianship.
Attacks can be carried out using Beyonder Item, but Kronos has virtually no defensive means, so he mainly carries defensive Scroll.
After the Armor of Guardianship landed on his body, the Chaos Skill in his Bracer was activated, awaiting the Descent of the Storm of Light.
After the Skeleton Warrior plunged the Sword of Dawn into the ground, the giant sword shattered, transforming into countless fragments of light, like the first rays of dawn. These fragments, densely packed and numerous, formed a shimmering and violent hurricane that swept forward.
With such a dense barrage of attacks, even Chaos Skill couldn't guarantee that no attacks would land on him, which is why Kronos used the Armor of Guardianship.
Interestingly, the moment the Storm of Light erupted, the Skeleton Warrior collapsed to the ground, and the Gate behind him opened directly.
That's what you call a real fight to the death! The Skeleton Warrior didn't fall to Kronos's sword, but died after delivering the final blow.
At this moment, Kronos was inwardly cursing, thinking, "What kind of grudge did they have to commit to do this to me?"
The Storm of Light arrived before Kronos in an instant, and the chaotic power was unleashed.
Countless fragments of dawn, imbued with a sense of destruction, were Distortion, but many others still hurtled back towards Kronos along their original paths.
At this moment, Kronos held his sword in his right hand, wildly swinging it in front of him, trying his best to defend. As he fought, he mentally complained, "The TV shows are all lies. How could this possibly defend against swords or hidden weapons? If I were to defend like this, I'd be riddled with holes."
Kronos swung the Big Dipper Sword wildly, occasionally feeling some fragments of dawn hit him, but most of the blows landed on his own Armor of Guardianship.
These Dawn Fragments themselves aren't particularly powerful, but their sheer number is overwhelming.
Despite the combined protection of chaos and the Armor of Guardianship, Kronos managed to withstand the Storm of Light, but he also coughed up a mouthful of blood.
After everything had settled, Kronos's legs gave way and he collapsed to the ground.
Last time he came to challenge the level, although the opponents were also very strong, Kronos managed to pass without taking any damage. However, this time, Kronos was seriously injured, which shows that his combat strength in Sequence 5 is still not very good.
Just then, Olmer suddenly appeared beside Kronos and said, "Looking at that expression, you seem to have been hit hard?"
Kronos didn't speak or look up, because he knew who it was.
Seeing that Kronos did not respond, Olmer continued, "You don't need to be so disappointed. These people were originally His Majesty Trunsoest's personal Personal Guards. They were the elite selected from the entire empire, and each one represented the highest combat power in their Sequence."
"To put it bluntly, even he has a chance of escaping from a Demigod. You've only been in the Sequence 5 for a few days. It's already quite an achievement to kill him."
Upon hearing this, Kronos spoke up, "Are you sure there's no difference between him in his skeletal form and when he has a physical body?"
Olmer hesitated for a moment, then said, "Even if there's a gap, they're still absolute elites among Sequence 5. You still have a lot of room for improvement, so what's there to be disappointed about?"
After saying this, Olmer flicked his finger, and the sword in Kronos's chest was pulled out, causing Kronos to grimace in pain.
Then Olmer pointed at Kronos's wound, and a white force appeared at the Kronos and entered it.
Before Kronos could even ask what was going on, he felt a warm power rapidly flowing through his body, all his discomfort vanished in an instant, and his wounds healed instantly.
Sequence Two of the Moon Pathway – "The Life-Giver" – grants control over the power of creation, allowing surrounding life to experience the joy of growth and New Life Descent.
Olmer smiled and said, "You're healthier than I expected, and you don't have any hidden injuries, so I was just helping you relieve some fatigue."
Having recovered, Kronos got up from the ground, bowed to Olmer, and said, "Thank you Duke Grace."
Olmer was quite amiable, saying, "No need to be so polite, just call me Olmer."
As the current leader of the Sanguine, Olmer is naturally not such an amiable person.
But whether it was because Olnia needed Kronos or because she appreciated Kronos's potential, his attitude towards Kronos was indeed closer to that of a friend.
After saying that, Olmer vanished in a flash, leaving behind the words, "Go and receive your Descent. I won't take up any more of your time."
Kronos dusted himself off, but instead of leaving the room immediately, he went to collect his spoils, just as he had done before.
The Skeleton Warrior perished, but he left behind his Beyonder Characteristic and a suit of armor.
The Guardian's Beyonder Characteristic were quite valuable, so Kronos naturally put it away and began to examine the armor.
In the last Low Sequence level, Kronos took that armor, intending to wear it himself. However, because the Mystic Pouch malfunctioned, it was inconvenient for him to carry the armor with him, so he couldn't bring it out.
The armor in front of him, in Kronos's eyes, was clearly of a higher grade than the previous one; not only were the patterns more exquisite, but it also appeared to be much sturdier.
Just as he was examining the armor, Olmer's voice rang out once again.
"If you want, wearing this armor will certainly do you good."
"This is the Personal Guards Armor of His Night Emperor's personal guards. Although it is not Beyonder Item, it took a lot of effort to create back then. It is divided into Soldier Armor, General Armor, and Marshal Armor."
"Low Sequence soldiers wear Soldier Armor; Mid-Sequence generals wear General Armor; High Sequence commanders wear Marshal Armor. The one in front of you wears General Armor."
"These Personal Guards Armor has no other ability than its sturdiness. The armor in front of you has defensive capabilities comparable to Guardian's defensive stance. You're smart for not trying to attack this armor earlier, otherwise you would have suffered a great loss."
Upon hearing Olmer's words, Kronos immediately put on the armor and picked up the helmet, placing it over his head as well.
Kronos's offensive methods are quite good, but he lacks defensive capabilities. With this armor, his survivability is maximized, isn't it?
This armor is indeed not easy to carry around, so I'll just keep wearing it. Anyway, it's not that heavy for a Sequence 5 character.
Although wearing such a suit of armor is a bit unconventional, life is more important than anything else, so I'll just treat it as cosplay.
Seeing that Kronos had quickly put on his armor, Olmer fell silent.
Having collected all the spoils, Kronos didn't linger any longer and went into the back room.
The room wasn't large, with a small platform in the center. On the platform was an object, presumably Kronos's reward for successfully completing the challenge.
According to Olmer, clearing the Mid-Sequence level should have yielded a Sequence 5 Beyonder Item, but Olnia had already influenced the reward level, which is why Kronos was able to obtain Sequence 5 Beyonder Item in the Low-Sequence Trial.
So the reward in front of us is very likely a Demigod- level Sealed Artifact.
Kronos strode to the edge of the platform and immediately spotted something on it: a Gray-White Gloves.
Kronos didn't immediately take out his Appraiser's Glasses to examine the item because he knew that Western Capital obtained from the Ghost Empire came with its own description.
Upon closer inspection, I saw the note hidden under the Gloves.
Kronos didn't touch the Gloves, but carefully pulled out the note.
If it were Beyonder Item, Kronos wouldn't need to advance it this far, because Beyonder Item crafted by Artisan generally don't have any terrible negative effects.
However, there's a good chance this Gloves is a Demigod- level Sealed Artifact, so it's best to be cautious.
After pulling out the slip of paper, Kronos stared intently at it.
"Item Name: Manipulation Gloves, Sealed Artifact formed around the Beyonder Characteristic of the Manipulator, Sequence 4 of the Spectator Pathway."
Item rating: Moderate-Risk Level
"Item Ability: 1. Manipulation: After the user puts on the Gloves, they can enter the Mind Stone Island of the person observing the Gloves by attracting their attention with the Gloves, conduct deep Hypnosis, directly tamper with their Consciousness, read their thoughts, and silently drive them to do all sorts of things."
2. Mind Breath: An invisible, transparent breath, an enhanced version of Mental Pierce with wide-range effect. It can directly stimulate and damage the target's Mental Body and Spirit Body. Targets hit by this attack feel as if struck by lightning, their minds torn apart and their spirits seemingly pierced.
"Negative effects: Each use will intensify negative emotions, gradually leading to mental illness, and may even drive the user to perversion or madness."
The negative effects seemed rather minor to Kronos; the three Demigod- level Sealed Artifact of the Argel Family were far more severe.
Perhaps this is why this item was rated as Moderate-Risk Level.
Since touching it wouldn't cause any negative effects, Kronos didn't hesitate any longer and picked up the Gloves, putting it on his left hand.
Without relying on his family, Kronos obtained his first Demigod- level Sealed Artifact.
