An unexpected turn
After hearing these words, Olmer felt completely disoriented. He never imagined that even with acquaintances involved, he would still likely end up resorting to brute force.
"Wait a moment, I'll go check over there first." Before the words were even finished, Olmer had already vanished.
As expected, there's always a way out. The passageway to the army's encampment was still there, albeit dilapidated, but at least it was preserved.
For Olmer, the Angel, not to mention a passage, even a crack would be easy for him to pass through.
Olmer immediately transformed into a bat and flew into the passage.
This was originally the passageway used by the taxi soldiers stationed in the Ghost Empire during troop rotations. It was naturally built very solidly in preparation for a protracted war. However, since the Rules on the ship became chaotic, no Soldier have walked through here anymore, and it has naturally fallen into disrepair over the years.
Olmer flew all the way to a door before stopping. He gently pushed it a few times but couldn't open it, and he didn't dare to use any more force.
"Duke Olmer, have you arrived?" Just as Olmer was still wondering how to get in, a voice came from inside the door.
"It's so great to hear your voice here," Olmer said happily.
"I've been behind this door for almost two thousand years, so you can naturally hear my voice here. You can use a little force; there's still some distance between here and the inner chamber of the Mausoleum, so it won't cause any problems."
In fact, let alone someone like Olmer who is at Sequence Two, even a Demigod could easily break in by force, since this is just an ordinary Tomb.
Hearing what was said inside, Olmer didn't hesitate. He clenched his fist, put a little force into it, and threw a punch straight at the center of the Gate.
As expected of a Sanguine Grand Duke has lived for so many years, the power of his punch was just right. It neither damaged Gate Gate nor prevented it from opening. The Gate slowly moved until it was fully open.
"Hahaha, I'm finally free!" Just as the Gate was fully opened, a streak of fire shot out from inside, heading straight for Olmer's face.
But to everyone's surprise, Olmer chuckled, as if he had expected it, and spread his wings behind him. With a gentle flap, he directly sent the flame flying.
"Are you really trying to fool me?" Olmer said softly, looking at the figure in front of him.
The figure before Olmer was the Undead Creature he had been talking to. This Undead Creature was covered in eyes and mouths, and where the head should have been, it had another head of its own. The face on this head was that of Duke Kohler we had mentioned before.
"Kohler, do you know which sentence made me doubt you?" Olmer asked confidently.
When Kohler boarded the ship, he was merely a War Bishop at Sequence 3 of the Hunter Pathway. Considering the years of wear and tear on the ship, he was no match for Olmer.
"I'm not really interested, I just want to know, are you the one who was once called the most innocent Angel? You betrayed your title!" Kohler's pent-up instincts were finally unleashed; after all, he was a Hunter, how could he not provoke her?
Back then, Olmer was the so-called most innocent Angel. He was one of the earliest Sanguine, but he didn't experience the period when Sanguine truly struggled.
After he grew up, the Sanguine had entered a stable phase under the protection of the progenitor, and Olmer was truly fortunate.
To counter the divinity emanating from the power, Olmer chose to fall into slumber, and each time he fell asleep, the timing was perfect, allowing him to avoid countless moments of crisis.
So when he answered the call of "Blood Moon Queen" Olnia to Trunsoest faction, his life experience was even less than that of a Demigod, and as a result, he received such a title.
"I and my people have been hunted down for centuries by you four traitorous families. If I had retained that naivety, I wouldn't be alive today."
"Hahaha, then it just means you guys are too useless. Your Sanguine first had Ancient God, then a Queen, and even in your lowest period you had three Angel. With such a foundation, how could you end up like this? Calling you useless is an overestimation."
Olmer has dealt with many Beyonder on the Hunter Pathway over the years and is already immune to such verbal attacks.
"I knew you were lying when you said Duke Kohler was the first to be devoured. After all, I know you, and I understand your character to some extent. But I didn't expect you to risk being discovered and still offer a defense of yourself."
Olmer then continued reasoning, "Assuming your story isn't entirely fabricated, and there's some truth to it, then I have a guess."
"His Majesty's Beyonder Characteristic brought corruption to the ship, which is why you have changed. But you are not a selfless person; you deceived your friends who have also been transformed into Wraith."
"You devoured them, which is why you are what you are now. Every pair of eyes and mouth on your body is a mark of a person, which is why you have been able to live until now."
Duke Kohler laughed heartily, "Since you've thought of that, you should know that I haven't exactly lied to you. I am indeed no longer Duke Kohler. I live for many people now, and if you consider them friends, you should help me!"
When Kohler got excited, all his eyes and mouth were open and trembling, which looked extremely disgusting.
Kohler used to be just a little selfish and arrogant, but now he's completely turned into a pervert. Olmer felt disgusted just looking at him, took out a handkerchief from his pocket, and gently wiped the corner of his mouth.
After wiping his mouth, Olmer spoke, "Didn't they say that because of the Rules, no one on the ship can leave? Then what's the point of you escaping?"
Kohler answered readily, "We have to thank our esteemed Night Emperor for this. He established the Rules of selecting challengers. As long as one challenger can reach me, I will be able to possess him, and that will guarantee my departure."
Looking at Kohler, who was becoming increasingly deranged, Olmer felt a pang of sadness. When they first met, Kohler was an elegant and proud aristocrat. Although his character was flawed, no one had ever seen him lose his composure.
But this nearly two-thousand-year "Imprisonment" completely changed him, turning him into the Kohler who is now acting mad in front of Olmer.
"So many years have passed, and you still haven't succeeded?" Olmer asked, feeling somewhat dejected.
"Success? How could we succeed? In over a thousand years, I've hardly seen anyone pass the Low Sequence. Only three people have passed the Mid-Sequence, and all three failed at the Demigod. What a bunch of useless trash!" Kohler shouted excitedly.
"Thank goodness you came! You saved me, Olmer. You've lived for so many years, haven't you? Why don't you let me live a few more years? What do you say?"
"Sigh." Olmer had initially been somewhat understanding of Kohler, could only sigh after hearing this. This kind of troublemaker couldn't be let out, or who knew what might happen.
Seeing Olmer's unmoved expression, Kohler's anger flared up completely. "How can you be so heartless? You won't even help me with this little bit! You deserve to die!"
Amidst the roar, a powerful beam of fire shot straight in, its intensity likely surpassing that of the previous surprise attack.
However, to think that one can defeat Olmer by using arson is simply wishful thinking.
The Hunter Pathway is indeed formidable in Low Sequence combat, but Pathway true advantage lies in team battles at the Demigod and above.
Without their own armies, Iron-Blooded Knight and War Bishop would be at a disadvantage even when facing Beyonder of the same Sequence, let alone Olmer, who was superior to them.
A Crimson Moon rose, and under its Crimson Moon, Olmer became ethereal, placing him in a position where no one could attack him.
A sane person would have wisely stopped by now, given the vast difference in skill level. However, Kohler was clearly not acting normally; he frantically unleashed all his abilities until he was completely exhausted and panting before finally stopping.
"No wonder He reminded me to bring a sealing-type Beyonder Item before I left. It turns out He foresaw this scene. Even if He were to be resurrected, His power would still surpass mine." Olmer took out an Beyonder Item from his pocket.
The Coffin of Death, a spoil of war from the War of the Four Emperors, can seal away any creature whose rank is lower than that of Angel, but the cost doubles for each additional creature.
Now, the Coffin of Death is empty, which is a way to avoid too much negative effect. After sealing one, find a way to dispose of it, leaving only one inside.
After giving Kohler one last look, Olmer threw out the Coffin of Death Coffin of Death, which, driven by Olmer's Spirituality, slowly enlarged in the air.
Although Kohler had some Mind issues, he was definitely not stupid. Upon seeing this Beyonder Item, he naturally knew to run.
Just as he turned to go back inside the Gate, Olmer moved.
He left an afterimage in the air, flashed directly to Kohler's side, and then gently raised his hand, sending an extremely dense Power of Creation into Kohler's body.
If it were a living being, such a rich Power of Creation would heal any wound, but unfortunately, Kohler is Wraith.
