It was as though a floodgate had opened.
Another flurry of hurried wingbeats came from the passage behind them.
"Wait! Wait for Fei!"
Along with that clear cry, a figure with striking rouge-colored hair, a girl's upper body, and a bird's lower body flew out of the darkness and landed right at the rear of the group.
It was none other than the harpy whom Rei had sternly forbidden from following them-Fei.
"Fei! What are you doing here?! Didn't I tell you to stay down below?!" The sight of Fei gave Rei a headache.
"But... but Fei wants to go too!"
Hearing Rei's words, Fei folded her wings and took a few steps on her bird feet toward Haimo, pressing her wings together.
"Please, Lord God! Fei promises to be good! I absolutely won't say anything out of turn or run off!"
"Fei has always dreamed of seeing the sun on the surface with her own eyes!"
Faced with Fei's sudden intrusion.
Rei felt utterly helpless. Of course she knew how desperately Fei and the other Xenos yearned for sunlight on the surface.
It was an instinctive longing carved into the depths of their souls. Rei turned, about to plead with Haimo on Fei's behalf.
But Haimo had already given his answer.
"Herding one sheep is no different from herding a flock."
"If you want to come along, then come. Once we're out on the streets, one or five won't make much difference to the commotion anyway." With Haimo's approval-
"Hooray! Thank you, Lord God!"
Fei immediately cheered, flapping her wings repeatedly in excitement. She even completely forgot the instinctive reverence monsters felt toward gods, stepping forward and hooking herself around Haimo's free arm with utter familiarity.
But this only left Rei beside him and Fels leading the way even
