Background / History

Conceptual Origin

Haimo’s divinity originates from concepts rather than mythology. His domain encompasses the development of weapons and conflict—from the first sharpened stone used to kill another creature to organized warfare, destruction, and annihilation. His divine flame is sustained for as long as intelligent beings fight over their interests or raise weapons against one another 2.

He identifies himself as a transmigrator, although the supplied account does not explain the circumstances of that transmigration 2.

War and Rule in Heaven

According to Fels, relaying Ouranos’s account, Haimo could grasp the gods’ techniques at a glance and became obsessed with discovering how to kill them permanently. Individual experiments proved too inefficient, so he enlisted Loki and helped launch the War of the Gods. Heaven became an arena of widespread slaughter; even after Loki lost interest, Haimo continued ordering the gods to fight 379.

The gods eventually united against him, only to discover that their opposition strengthened his divinity. As his authority expanded to the manipulation of divine souls, some gods chose death and a ten-thousand-year revival period rather than capture. Others became his obedient followers, beginning ten thousand years of absolute rule remembered as the reign of the tyrant 380.

Fels further recounts that Haimo eventually killed every god in Heaven, including close companions such as Hestia, leaving Heaven empty for over ten thousand years. After reviving, the gods found that he no longer appeared interested in researching their permanent deaths 380.

That apparent change did not reassure them. Because Haimo could alter divine memories, they remained uncertain whether their recollections were genuine—or whether other gods had been killed and never revived. His success in permanently killing a god is therefore not confirmed 380.

Establishing the Haimo Familia

Despite his reputation in Heaven, Haimo initially had virtually no recognition in Orario. His attempt to register his many titles left Eina confused, and his recruitment notice attracted disdain rather than followers. His first recorded Familia panel showed an I-rank Familia, no members, and only 150 valis 1 2 3.

He subsequently appeared at Aichi Kyosei Academy with unrestricted divine power and recruited fighters from that world. After returning to Orario, he began granting Falna to his new members and sought equipment support from Hephaestus 4 17 20 21 28.

His presence alarmed the gods well before his Familia became established. Ganesha assigned Shakti to monitor him openly, and the sight of Haimo carrying a spear helped trigger an overnight meeting among the gods. None volunteered to confront him, leaving Ganesha responsible for handling the situation 40 41 48 102.

Haimo later assured Ganesha that he wanted to watch his children grow and had little interest in other matters unless someone provoked him 135.

Intervention in the Gastrea World

Haimo recruited Kisara Tendo without demanding that she abandon her revenge. He subsequently declared the existing order rotten and announced a dawn judgment in which Gastrea would kill sinners and opponents of divine will 211 220.

His new authority brought hundreds of millions of Gastrea under his Divine Mark. Alongside this display of overwhelming force, he comforted persecuted Cursed Children and planned a gradual route for some of them to settle in Orario once his position there was secure 230 242 244.

His plans explicitly accounted for the aftermath: he regarded giving the children hope as an obligation to provide lasting protection, rather than leaving a greater disaster behind after a moment of violence 242.

Protection of the Xenos

Haimo entered the Xenos’ refuge with Fels and survived an initially hostile reception. After turning Gros’s killing intent against him, he accepted the other Xenos’ pleas and released him. He then offered to escort a small group to the surface under his protection 357 359.

He brought Rei, Fei, Lania, and Helga into his Mansion as unofficial Familia members, offering them shelter while working toward bringing out their companions. He also asked the Xenos to protect and teach the traumatized children he intended to house there 365.

His reputation made this challenge to Orario’s treatment of monsters possible: the major Familias remained silent, and the Guild issued no public condemnation. Even after hearing about his atrocities in Heaven, Gros argued that Haimo’s willingness to give the Xenos a future mattered more than that history 372 380.

Appearance

  • Hair and eyes: Black hair and black eyes, repeatedly identified as his distinguishing features in Orario 253 266 313.
  • Build: Tall, with a straight bearing and an unhurried stride 253 266 357.
  • Clothing: Wears plain clothes during his appearance at Aichi Kyosei Academy 5.
  • Divine presence: Retains an unmistakably transcendent air even when suppressing his presence. With his power unrestricted, his aura inspires an instinctive urge to worship 4 357.

Personality

Haimo’s treatment of his Familia contrasts sharply with the history attributed to him in Heaven. He praises his children’s effort, credits their achievements to their own potential, and insists that Seitenshi’s extraordinary magic is something her own convictions earned—not simply a gift for which he should receive the credit 57 305.

He generally guides rather than commands. When Onigawara Rin considers pursuing more dangerous growth, he explains the risk of permanent injury, recommends leveling up, and leaves the final decision to her. His willingness to recruit Tsukuyo likewise reflects his belief that a mortal’s worth cannot be measured by a single quality or disability 9 140.

His protectiveness can take a possessive form. He describes those bearing his Falna as his private property and invokes that bond when warning them against damaging their bodies. He also proposes using the same claim to deter attacks on the Xenos 129 359.

Haimo rejects precedent when it obstructs a life’s opportunity to grow. He defends granting Falna to intelligent bears, arguing that a lack of previous examples is too dull a reason to deny them the chance to become adventurers 77 78.

That tolerance does not make him conventionally benevolent. He supports Kisara’s freedom to pursue revenge and endorses a lethal purge of the Gastrea world’s existing order. Ouranos considers his gentleness in the Lower World so unlike his former behavior that it remains a source of suspicion 220 379.

Abilities & Skills

Instinct

His innate comprehension allows him to grasp the essence of a skill from a single observation 3.

  • Applies to forging, swordsmanship, magic, and hand-to-hand combat 3.
  • Fels credits him with mastering the gods’ techniques at a glance 379.
  • His spear handling demonstrates practical martial familiarity even under Lower World restrictions 31.

Passing the Torch

Haimo possesses authority over forging and creation, rooted in civilization’s use of tools, fire, iron, and blood 3.

  • Can analyze and reproduce weapons or tools whose structures he understands 3.
  • Has no stated upper limit on forged-item quality when sufficient materials are available 3.
  • Offers Hephaestus a unique God-Forged Weapon incorporating his hair, divine blood, and personally inscribed Holy Script, intended to exceed normal limits without requiring his Falna 28.
  • Personally forged Onigawara Rin’s Black Crow, whose edge remains undamaged after fighting middle-floor monsters 321 375.

Falna Bestowal and Guidance

By placing divine blood on a recipient, Haimo draws out latent potential and expresses it through Status, skills, and magic 20 21.

  • Grants Falna, updates Status, and performs eligible level-ups 21 137 141.
  • Advises members on Development Abilities according to their fighting styles, including Stealth for Nemumeno Satori and Hunter for Hanabishi Warabi 143 144.
  • Supports extending Falna to exceptional beasts rather than restricting it by species or precedent 77 78.
  • Treats manifested abilities as expressions of the recipient’s own nature and experiences 302 305.

Conflict Empowerment and Hostility Control

Conflict, hostility, and antagonism continuously nourish Haimo’s power. The gods’ attempt to overwhelm him through numbers instead accelerated his growth 354 380.

  • Can control openly expressed hostility and turn killing intent back upon its source 359.
  • Uses this ability against Gros, then releases him after the Xenos plead for mercy 359.
  • Explains that such an ability can be retained in the Lower World because it lies on the fringe of his divine office and does not directly alter physical laws through Arcanum 359.

Beginning of Calamity

This authority gives Haimo command over beings driven by murder and creatures recognized by their world as sources of calamity 230.

  • Can forcibly seize their bodies and turn them into tireless war puppets 230.
  • Can punish a betrayer from thousands of miles away by making their blood boil and reverse its flow, or by turning their weapon against them 230.
  • Its manifestation coincides with hundreds of millions of Gastrea receiving his Divine Mark 230.

Divine Soul Manipulation

Haimo developed authority capable of directly brainwashing gods during the conflict in Heaven 380.

  • Can strip away a god’s mind, implant false memories, and reset their personality 362.
  • Used this power to create obedient divine followers 380.
  • The memory of being subjected to his manipulation can remain after death and revival 362.
  • This power is the basis of the gods’ continuing doubts about their own recollections 380.

Unrestricted Divine Power

Outside the Lower World’s restrictions, Haimo demonstrates overt supernatural authority 4 173.

  • Hovers and descends through empty air while his power presses against the world’s physical laws 4.
  • Tears open space and transports people between worlds 173.
  • Uses divine power to keep Kisara’s damaged organs functioning 233.

Restrictions in the Lower World

  • Most divine power is voluntarily sealed; gods retain immortality, divine presence, and the ability to grant Falna, but still experience hunger and fatigue 2.
  • Gods are forbidden from entering the Dungeon or using divine power there 2 31.
  • Severe injury can trigger divine protection and forcibly return a god to Heaven. Haimo nevertheless promises Ryu that their contest will use martial skill alone, without divine power or authority 64.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Silver-white spear — Has a dark red tip and bears the mark of Hephaestus’s weapon shop. Haimo chooses it despite being unable to hunt Dungeon monsters himself; openly carrying it alarms the gods 31 102.
  • Fine silver needle — Used to prick his fingertip and obtain divine blood for Falna rituals 21 299 300.
  • Familia residence — Secures a detached, three-story house in an upscale Orario neighborhood while Shakti is covering his expenses. It includes a courtyard and laurel tree 41.

Relationships

  • Hestia — Close divine companion. She complains that he abandoned their shared life as unsuccessful gods, worries when rumors claim monsters kidnapped him, and tearfully embraces him on his return 17 365.
  • Hephaestus — Close friend and equipment partner. His offer of an unfamiliar God-Forged Weapon appeals directly to her pursuit of craftsmanship 28 222.
  • Loki — Old friend and accomplice in the War of the Gods. Their present interactions are familiar and teasing, though Haimo refuses her offer to take Lefiya into his Familia 104 116 155 379.
  • Ganesha and Shakti — Initially treat him as a major security concern. Shakti openly escorts him, while Ganesha becomes reassured after Haimo states that he primarily wants to raise his Familia 40 41 135.
  • Tsukuyo Inaba — Values her hearing and swordsmanship despite her disabilities. She later asks him to level her up when her frail body can no longer sustain her fighting style 9 138.
  • Sasamori Aya — Battle-obsessed Familia member whose potential fascinates him. He warns her against destroying her body and arranges opportunities for her to improve 23 84 129.
  • Kisara Tendo — Accepts his patronage while pursuing revenge and hopes to resurrect her parents through their contract. Haimo supports her freedom to act and intervenes to sustain her failing body 211 220 233 299.
  • Seitenshi — Encourages her to recognize the value of her support magic rather than judge herself by direct combat ability 305 333.
  • Ryu Lion — Initially follows him out of concern for Syr and agrees to a martial contest. His later kindness, including covering damage she caused and allowing gradual repayment through cleaning work, improves their relationship 62 64 281 348.
  • Syr — Repeatedly hides when he arrives at the tavern, despite both her and Haimo denying that they know each other. The reason remains unresolved in the supplied account 172 279.
  • Ouranos and Fels — Recognize both his danger and his ability to protect the Xenos where the Guild cannot. Fels escorts him to their refuge and later recounts his history in Heaven 354 357 379 380.
  • The Xenos — Offers them protection, surface access, and a place in his household. Gros ultimately declares him his patron god despite learning of his past atrocities 359 365 380.
  • Eina Tulle — Guild contact concerned about his decisions. Haimo insists that once he has accepted someone as his child, he cannot go back on his word 375.
