Power Progression
Spiritual Root and Cultivation
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dao Sword Spiritual Root awakened | 2 | Swallowed a Creation Pill and obtained a hidden purple-quality sword root with a mutated ice attribute. |
| Not yet entered the Dao | 13 | His status panel still listed no cultivation realm despite his combat victories. |
| Body Tempering, third layer | 21 | Advanced by spending experience after upgrading Heavenly Dipper Body Tempering Art. Stopped for nearly an hour because of the pain and violent influx of power. |
| Body Tempering, fourth layer | 21 | Resumed advancement; Heavenly Dipper Body Tempering Art reduced the experience requirement by 1,000. |
| Body Tempering, fifth layer | 21 | Tested his strength by lifting a fifty-thousand-jin boulder with one arm. |
| Body Tempering, sixth layer | 31 | Began an emergency series of breakthroughs before confronting the Phantom Night Wolf. |
| Body Tempering, seventh layer | 31 | Continued spending stockpiled experience; the advancement interface also listed Bone-Strengthening Pill requirements. |
| Body Tempering, eighth layer | 31 | Advanced during the same emergency upgrade sequence. |
| Body Tempering, ninth layer | 31 32 | Completed the sequence. His strength and speed increased more than fivefold, allowing him to follow the Phantom Night Wolf’s movements and defeat it alone. |
| Meridian Opening, first level | 48 50 | Broke through while fighting Falling Radiance City’s city lord. His stats increased tenfold, and he gained the ability to parry spells. Reached this realm in less than half a month. |
| Meridian Opening, second layer — unaided breakthrough | 62 | Tried conventional cultivation and succeeded, but the system labeled the result “Trash Meridian Opening Second Layer” and required experience and spirit stones to repair it. |
| Meridian Opening, second layer — repaired | 63 | Restored the realm through the system. His main meridian widened, his foundation stabilized, and his strength exceeded the unaided breakthrough’s result by more than twofold. |
| Dao Sword Spiritual Root — middle grade | 63 | Used Primordial Qi to improve the root, gaining Sword Intent and a cultivation experience-cost reduction. |
| Meridian Opening, fourth level | 83 | Gained experience from He Xixiang’s spiritual fruit and Lü Qingyi’s tea, then advanced. Each fruit and the tea only granted experience once. |
| Sea of Qi, first layer | 126 | Obtained a Profound-Breaking Pill from He Xixiang and broke through while pursued by the Thousand Mechanisms Sect. Spiritual energy formed a vortex, and he estimated his strength had increased roughly tenfold. |
| Dao Sword Spiritual Root — high grade | 133 | Consumed an Innate Ice Spirit Fruit. The displayed effects included health-based true damage, healing, and a percentage reduction in cultivation experience requirements. |
| Sea of Qi, sixth layer | 183 | Spent accumulated experience in a series of breakthroughs after Ye Ningshuang suggested advancing before continuing their conversation. |
| Sea of Qi, seventh layer | 196 | Advanced after stalling the Azure Fox Lady long enough to obtain the necessary idle experience. His dantian expanded tenfold, and he felt his bodily strength increase more than tenfold. |
| Sea of Qi, eighth layer | 202 | Survived a prolonged battle involving four foxes until idle experience supplied the final amount needed for advancement. Presented the breakthrough as his own “third phase.” |
| Spirit Sea, first layer | 211 | Entered a realm with a substantially stronger body and unlocked lifebound Magic Treasure binding. |
| Spirit Sea, second level | 220 | Spent 45 million experience before undertaking another mission. |
| Spirit Sea, third level | 220 | Spent another 75 million experience and 15 million spirit stones. His Spirit Sea became an ocean that he believed already resembled a normal cultivator’s late-stage Spirit Sea. |
| Spirit Sea, fourth layer | 231 | Spent 90 million experience and 20 million spirit stones as part of a three-level advancement sequence. |
| Spirit Sea, fifth layer | 231 | Spent 200 million experience and 30 million spirit stones during the same sequence. |
| Spirit Sea, sixth layer | 231 | Spent 300 million experience and 50 million spirit stones. His nearly boundless Spirit Sea appeared comparable to ordinary Spirit Sea Great Perfection. |
| Spirit Sea, seventh level | 251 | Advanced after requesting proceeds from the Nether Capital Merchant Guild; consumed 1.2 billion experience and 100 million spirit stones. |
| Spirit Sea, eighth and ninth layers | 266 | Advanced from the seventh layer to the perfected ninth layer in one sequence. The final upgrade consumed 4.6 billion experience and 400 million spirit stones; the interface then displayed tribulation progress and a Dao Stone requirement for guaranteed tribulation transcendence. |
| Dao Seal Realm; dual Dao Seals | 288 | Broke through in a concealed location. Possessed both the Extreme Ice Dao Palace and Way Sword Saint Palace, and raised the former to heaven grade. |
| Dao Seal, third level | 313 | Releasing his spiritual energy froze an area extending ten thousand li and killed the hostile Ten Thousand Buddha Mountain disciples within it. |
| Extreme Ice Dao Palace — immortal-grade Guanghan Palace | 365 | Spent nearly a hundred thousand Dao Stones to perfect the palace while completing his tribulation with Lü Qingyi’s assistance. |
| Spirit Aspect Realm | 365 366 | Completed his tribulation and heart demon challenge. His body gained rule-like reinforcement, and an ice lotus supporting a sword appeared on his forehead. |
| Spirit Aspect, second layer | 397 | Spent accumulated experience before reaching Ascension City, deciding that his completed build no longer required stockpiling experience. |
| Spirit Aspect, eighth level | 423 | Raised his cultivation by five minor levels during combat with a Return to True opponent, alongside Sword Master Form and the Blood-Burning Forbidden Technique. |
| Return to True Realm | 450 452 | After addressing the temperament requirement, entered Return to True. Former Dao Palace and Spirit Aspect abilities unified into a continuously active, cost-free state. |
| Return to True, eighth level | 496 | Jumped from the first level to the eighth while confronting Outsiders, startling enemies and allies alike. |

| Basic Swordsmanship and Flying Snow Sword — great perfection | 13 | Both were listed at great perfection in his status panel. |
| Heavenly Dipper Body Tempering Art — major mastery | 20 | Spent experience through beginner proficiency, minor mastery, and major mastery; deliberately stopped because further upgrades offered poor returns. |

| Snow-Tempering Scripture, Ice Rain Sword-Riding Technique, and Frost-Swept Shadow — maximized | 62 63 | Spent his accumulated experience after the disappointing unaided breakthrough. Perfected Snow-Tempering Scripture reduced cultivation advancement costs by 50,000 experience. |
| Frost Waltz Slash learned | 133 | Selected a Sea of Qi sword technique from the Scripture Pavilion, but initially lacked enough experience to perfect it. |
| Snow-Tempering Scripture advanced | 174 | Advanced to the Snow-Section Mind Method, also subsequently rendered as the Duan Xue Scripture or Snow-Forging Scripture. Unlocked automatic idle experience and improved frost techniques and passives. |

| Spirit Sea cultivation-method advancement | 214 | Advanced the Duan Xue Scripture before investing in his new Spirit Sea Divine Abilities. |
| Magic Sword, tier one | 219 | Completed He Xixiang’s training while digesting spiritual fruit. Gained twelvefold increases to sword technique power, physical toughness, and Magic Power strength. |
| Taiyin Sword — mutated, perfection | 334 | Rerolled the technique’s attributes and spent nearly 20 billion experience and 600,000 Dao Stones to maximize it. |
| Frost Cage acquired | 359 | Selected an upgradeable frost-control skill whose modest base effects became dangerous through his existing frost bonuses and passives. |
| New Spirit Aspect build — great perfection | 378 | Perfected Nine Slashes of Guixu, Void Sword Flight Art, and Lü Qingyi’s version of Shrinking Earth to an Inch. |
| Duan Xue Scripture advanced to Ice Mystic Scripture — great perfection | 378 | Greatly increased frost damage and passive scaling; idle experience reached 100 million per hour. |
| Combat beyond the skill bar | 456 457 458 462 | Lü Qingyi’s special training forced him to use his understanding of techniques without system-assisted execution, developing free-form attacks and automatic defenses. |
| Magic Sword, tier two | 456 | Upgraded the inherited passive to twenty-fourfold increases in sword technique power, physical strength, and Magic Power potency. |
| Ice Mysterious True Explanation — great perfection | 477 | Advanced his cultivation method beyond the currently usable system version, gaining enormous frost bonuses but replacing ordinary idle experience with temporarily unusable Immortal Dao experience. |
Background / History
Before entering the cultivation world, Ying Huaixu spent most of his time in a nutrient pod playing Primordial Immortal Cultivation Record. After losing his family support, he stopped socializing and relied on grinding the game to earn money. He created numerous starter and resource accounts and could carry other players through raids even with poor equipment 9 17 20.
A later background check shown by the Heavenly Dao provides a more specific account of his family circumstances. His mother became seriously ill and died when he was in his twenties. His father subsequently neglected him, found another partner, lost his money to her deception, became despondent, and disappeared; this account does not establish his father’s death. The same record describes Ying Huaixu as a likable childhood troublemaker who consistently ranked among the top ten students despite rarely studying properly 478.
Before playing the full-immersion game, he deliberately studied Daoist martial arts to obtain an advantage. That training helped him injure a player ranked among the world’s top ten in PvP. He also read Daoist scriptures in his spare time 443.
His latest account was intended for sale to help repay his loans. He selected Hongmeng difficulty, accepted the permanent-death warning without reading it carefully, and chose a longsword to increase his chances of obtaining a valuable sword-related spiritual root. Only after awakening the Dao Sword Spiritual Root did he discover that the exit button was missing and the world was real 1 2.
The world also contained an apparent history for him that contradicted his understanding of his customized, backstory-free character. Records examined by Lü Qingyi described him as an orphaned descendant of a fallen clan who trained at a martial arts school, escaped pursuit by the Evil Fiend, and fell from a cliff before Ye Ningshuang rescued him 4 11.
His identity remains more complicated than his initial explanation of transmigration. A shadow examining him found that he was neither a possessing cultivator nor an ordinary reincarnated powerhouse, and that strange formations protected his soul. Later, Lü Qingyi used a stone that displayed his background as a native and explicitly greeted him as such 184 441.
Heavenly Dao’s Counterfactual Simulation
The Heavenly Dao creates a simulation in which Ying Huaixu takes Lü Qingyi’s place in her early circumstances. The simulated Ying Huaixu experiments with All Rivers Run to the Sea, kills the cultivator threatening him, joins the Divine Firmament Sword Sect, and rapidly cultivates to Quasi-Emperor before leaving the universe to seek Immortal Emperorhood elsewhere. These are simulated events, not achievements of the main-story Ying Huaixu 460 461.
The Heavenly Dao uses this comparison to explain how Lü Qingyi’s reforms changed the sect’s atmosphere and helped the actual Ying Huaixu develop attachment to it. Lü Qingyi is pleased to learn that her actions helped shape the person he became 461.
Appearance
- Face: Extremely handsome, with delicate skin and beauty compared to a woman’s; he had personally customized his character’s face and body 4 8 9.
- Clothing: Initially wore the familiar commoner starter outfit; later wore Divine Firmament Sword Sect disciple robes 1 34.
- Cultivation manifestation: At Body Tempering’s ninth layer, blue streaks appeared across his skin as ice-attributed power radiated from his flesh and bones 32.
- Cultivation-method transformation: Advancing his frost cultivation method temporarily turned his eyes ice blue and his hair snowy white. He returned to normal after switching off the passive manifestation 174.
- Spirit Aspect mark: Upon entering Spirit Aspect, an ice lotus supporting a sword appeared on his forehead 366.
- Later bearing: Tai Wangshu compares his Spirit Aspect-stage presence to a sharp sword concealing its edge, contrasting it with the conspicuous chill and sharpness he previously radiated 379.
Personality
Ying Huaixu is impatient, efficiency-minded, and strongly motivated by experience rewards. He skips lengthy quest explanations, uses running and climbing shortcuts, and evaluates cultivation arts by their return on investment. His habit of treating marked enemies as experience sources can make his sudden violence unnerving to companions 12 20 29 41.
His confidence in combat coexists with a strong desire to survive. Familiar encounters initially encourage him to think like a player, but blood, intelligent enemies, and genuine realm differences repeatedly force him to reconsider. After nearly dying against the city lord, he commits to keeping a low profile rather than displaying his abilities publicly 15 32 49.
Although he calls himself selfish and hopes to benefit from Ye Ningshuang’s future accomplishments, he also shows consideration for others. He insists that she share meals with him, worries about her reputation, respects He Xiuyuan’s willingness to sacrifice himself, and gives both companions substantial financial support 6 37 42.
His enthusiasm for measurable improvement can override severe discomfort. During He Xixiang’s training, simply seeing a progress bar advance makes him forget the pain and itching, leaving him more concerned with the bar’s speed than his suffering 219.
His desire to remain a passive observer repeatedly conflicts with the responsibility his abilities place on him. By the time he understands more of the world’s predicament, he feels that relaxing might allow the entire world to be destroyed. He rejects the idea of letting unseen enemies kill Lü Qingyi, He Xixiang, Ye Ningshuang, and the other people he has come to regard as real companions 306 328.
Later, his opposition to the Outsiders becomes explicitly personal and protective of Hongmeng. Rather than acting from an elaborate idealistic plan, he describes himself as angry and stubborn: the more the Outsiders interfere, the more determined he becomes to stop them, regarding Hongmeng as his own world 492.
He remains capable of renewed overconfidence, but consciously checks it. After easily clearing multiple hostile worlds, he recalls how badly he underestimated the Azure Fox Lady and deliberately slows down before confronting stronger enemies 386.
Abilities & Skills
Game-System Interface
Ying Huaixu retains numerous game functions after entering the real world 5 7 21.
- Experience-based advancement: Can spend experience directly on cultivation and technique proficiency instead of relying solely on conventional training 20 26 31.
- Instant learning: Manuals and pill formulas can transfer their contents directly into his mind. Learning Doctor Li’s formula did not destroy the physical document 5 7.
- Skill slots: Equipping a learned technique grants smooth, practiced execution. Unequipping Flying Snow Sword preserved his knowledge but made its use clumsy 7.
- No cooldowns: Techniques and consumables can be used repeatedly, subject to available resources 7 32.
- Quest tracking and maps: Can follow objective markers, reveal maps, track companions’ portraits, and locate concealed enemies 8 20 39 46.
- Additional functions: Unlocks the mailbox, True Spirit Eye, Sect Activity, and shop; also possesses equipment enhancement and advancement functions 21 38.
- Restrictions: Sect Activity permits only one activity per day. His Townstone’s teleportation function was unavailable during the journey toward Falling Radiance City 22 27.
- Cultivation repair: Can repair an inferior realm obtained through conventional cultivation. His repaired Meridian Opening second layer possessed a stable foundation and substantially greater strength than his unaided result 62 63.
- Passive experience: Advanced cultivation methods generate experience automatically, allowing him to accumulate the final resources for breakthroughs even during prolonged battles 174 196 202.
- Automated production: Uses automatic talisman crafting and artifact refining as well as Automatic Alchemy. Tai Wangshu’s partial replication of these processes shows that aspects of them can be understood and reproduced by exceptional cultivators 321 386.
- Party communication and trading: After separated teammates meet in person, Party Chat and Party Trading can reconnect, allowing him to send Ye Ningshuang pills remotely through their tokens 300.
- Quest acceptance: States that he chooses which quests to accept, rather than being compelled to carry out every task another person presents 524.
- Tracking limits: A target can be outside tracking range. Quest navigation may also lead only to search circles without revealing how to trigger the objective 230 524.
- Changing functions: Notices that the Multiplayer Icon has disappeared 212.
- Version restrictions: His advanced cultivation method produces Immortal Dao experience that must be stored rather than used, while further development of its initial Frost Laws is locked behind a version update 477.
Combat Mechanics and Swordsmanship
His high-level player experience remains a major advantage in fights where he can perceive the enemy’s movements 9 32.
- Attack trajectory displays: Uses visible attack indicators to dodge, parry, and disarm opponents 9.
- Dodge invincibility frames: Confirms that the game’s temporary invulnerability during dodges still functions 15.
- Dodge counters: Can close the distance almost instantaneously with a guaranteed-hit strike that leaves an opening for follow-up attacks 15.
- Pattern recognition: Exploits known boss windups, interrupts charged attacks, and avoids overcommitting during damage windows 32.
- Spell parrying: After entering Meridian Opening, cuts through the city lord’s blood-red light attack while sending sword energy back at him 48.
- Training others: Exposes He Xiuyuan’s predictable attack patterns through sparring, repeatedly dodging and countering his moves 50.
- Flexible spiritual-power use: Can increase sword-flight speed by increasing spiritual-power output, freeze objects without casting a fixed skill, and form icicles or usable ice swords directly from spiritual power 67.
- Unarmed sword effects: After the awakening during the Azure Fox fight, his punches can trigger Frost Annihilation’s effects and his Dao Sword Spiritual Root’s passive 198.
- Physical-force adaptation: Against enemies developing immunity to spells and Divine Abilities, uses the sheer force and weight of his flying sword to continue inflicting damage 417.
- Higher-realm combat: At Spirit Aspect’s eighth level, his improved reactions, invincibility mechanics, and counterattacks allow him to fight a Return to True opponent despite the realm gap 423 424.
- Independent technique execution: During Lü Qingyi’s training, learns to reconstruct attacks from his understanding rather than relying on an active skill bar. He develops ways to bypass windups through Return to True’s restorative and unifying properties 457 458.
- Automatic sword defense: Establishes his own criteria for what constitutes a threat and programs his Sword Flight Technique to defend automatically 462.
Limits: Skill alone cannot overcome every realm difference. At Body Tempering’s fifth layer, he could not clearly follow the Phantom Night Wolf’s movements; at the ninth layer, he could not defeat the city lord before breaking through. Real enemies can retreat, improvise, and repeatedly use abilities rather than follow fixed game behavior 15 32 49.
His later higher-realm performance still depends on being able to perceive and react to attacks. The Azure Fox encounters remain an important reminder that impressive statistics do not guarantee victory against unfamiliar bosses 231 386 423.
Dao Sword Spiritual Root
The hidden root possesses a mutated ice attribute but registers as merely low-grade during the sect’s spiritual-root test 2 10.
- According to an official game post Ying Huaixu had read, its sword attacks heal the user and add true damage calculated from percentages of both the opponent’s health and the user’s health. These were initially described properties rather than a separately verified status readout of his hidden root 2.
- While holding the Ice Spirit Sword, he senses its construction and instinctively understands how to release its full power; he suspects this is the root’s influence 21.
- Lü Qingyi observes Human-Sword Unity in his fighting despite the low-grade test result 16.
- Middle-grade Sword Intent: Improving the root with Primordial Qi grants a 35% increase to all sword technique power and reduces cultivation advancement costs by 20,000 experience 63.
- High-grade effects: After consuming an Innate Ice Spirit Fruit, the panel lists a 35% increase to sword technique damage, true damage equal to 3% of his own health, healing equal to 5% of damage dealt, and a 15% reduction in cultivation experience requirements 133.
- Emergency awakening: Near death against the Half-Demon Azure Fox, silvery-white power originating from fruit He Xixiang had fed him merges with the root, heals him, and allows his fists to activate its passive alongside Frost Annihilation 198.
- Later synergy: Its health-based true damage remains part of his build alongside health-consuming sword techniques, frost passives, and defense-shattering weapon effects 359 477.
Ice Techniques
| Technique | Applications and demonstrated effects |
|---|---|
| Flying Snow Sword | Mortal-grade sword technique. Minor mastery produces two attacks from one strike; repeated use overwhelms openings in enemy defenses 7 14. |
| Frost Step | Coats his feet in cold energy and carries him nearly seventy meters in one step. His mutated ice attribute makes execution smoother; the trail frosts nearby vegetation before dissipating after roughly three seconds 21. |
| Heavenly Frost Sword | Covers his blade in blue frost. Leaves icy flames on a cut surface that instantly freeze nearby grass; also channels destructive cold into the Phantom Night Wolf 21 32. |
| Ice Rain Sword-Riding Technique | A perfected sword-flight technique that combines with Snow-Tempering Scripture and increased spiritual-power output to improve his flying speed 62 67. |
| Frost-Swept Shadow | One of the techniques he maximizes after experimenting with unaided Meridian Opening cultivation 62. |
| Frost Waltz Slash | Sea of Qi technique selected from the Scripture Pavilion before the Cold Pool Secret Realm 133. |
| Frost White Jade Slash, Frost Sword Pear Blossom, and Frostfall Ice Punishment | Advanced forms unlocked when he improves his frost cultivation method 174. |
| Frost Concept / Frost Intent | A persistent frost-based artistic conception used against the Black Wolf King and Azure Fox Lady. He declines to replace his existing conception with the low-grade alternatives available on a stargazing platform 148 181 197. |
| Red Lotus Blossoming | Extreme Ice Dao Palace Divine Ability. At heaven grade, consumes 50% of his spiritual power to deal damage equal to 500% of his frost damage 288. |
| Taiyin Sword, mutated | At perfection, consumes 10% of his spiritual power to produce nine sword-slash layers. Each layer deals 500% of his damage, with additional swordsmanship, ice, and physique damage modifiers of 200%, 200%, and 660% respectively 334. |
| Frost Cage | Creates a frost-filled prison and applies Frost Marks. Ten stacks freeze the target; frost-attribute bonuses also contribute frostbite damage. Its effects combine with his Dao Palace, cultivation method, and root passives 359. |
Cultivation Methods and Inherited Passives
| Method / Passive | Effects and development |
|---|---|
| Heavenly Dipper Body Tempering Art | Early body-tempering method raised to major mastery; lowers the experience required for Body Tempering advancement 20 21. |
| Snow-Tempering Scripture | At perfection, reduces cultivation advancement costs by 50,000 experience. Forms an important damage-output combination with Frost Annihilation 63 133. |
| Snow-Section Mind Method / Duan Xue Scripture / Snow-Forging Scripture | Its initial advancement consumes two million experience and innate cold qi. Provides a 15% cultivation experience reduction, a 35% artistic-conception power increase, frost-damage and passive bonuses, and 10,000 idle experience per minute. It undergoes further advancement after he reaches Spirit Sea 174 183 214. |
| Ice Mystic Scripture | At great perfection, increases frost damage by 500%, frost passive scaling speed by 200%, passive damage resolution by 300%, and artistic-conception damage by 300%. Generates 100 million idle experience per hour 378. |
| Ice Mysterious True Explanation | At great perfection, increases frost power by 1,400%, constitution by 35%, frost passive speed by 500%, and passive damage resolution by 300%. Produces 0.5 Immortal Dao experience per hour and possesses origin-quality initial Frost Laws at 0.01%, both subject to system-version restrictions 477. |
| Magic Sword, tier one | He Xixiang’s inherited passive. Initially grants twelvefold sword technique power, physical toughness, and Magic Power strength. After Return to True unification, Ying Huaixu observes that the passive broadly enhances his capabilities twelvefold 219 452. |
| Magic Sword, tier two | Raises the inherited enhancement to twenty-fourfold sword technique power, physical strength, and Magic Power potency 456. |
| Nine Slashes of Guixu | At great perfection, consumes 25% health to release sword qi that deals 500% of his damage and strikes nine times in succession 378. |
| Void Sword Flight Art | At great perfection, grants sword-flight attacks a 100% critical-hit chance and an 85% critical-damage increase 378. |
| Shrinking Earth to an Inch, Lü Qingyi version | Perfected movement technique whose teleportation distance depends on spiritual-power expenditure. Before mastering this version, entering Spirit Aspect already gives him an innate form of spatial movement 367 378. |
| Blood-Burning Forbidden Technique | Used alongside Sword Master Form and system advancement when fighting the Return to True Great Thousand 423. |
Dao Seals, Spirit Aspects, and Return to True
- Extreme Ice Dao Palace: At heaven grade, increases frost damage by 400% and provides Red Lotus Blossoming. Its Frost’s Wound passive reduces an enemy’s attack power by 5% per stack, up to ten stacks 288.
- Way Sword Saint Palace: His second Dao Seal. Its Sword Mark passive increases piercing damage by 5% per stack, allowing repeated attacks to progressively overcome defensive treasures 288 371.
- Guanghan Palace: Immortal-grade perfected form of his Extreme Ice Dao Palace, obtained by spending nearly a hundred thousand Dao Stones 365.
- Sword Master Form: His Second Spirit Aspect continuously condenses Sword Qi behind him. Against Great Thousand, he combines it with Frost Annihilation dispersed throughout the surrounding space 423.
- Overhealing shield: During the same higher-realm fight, excess healing converts into a protective layer of white light around him 423.
- Return to True unification: His previous Dao Palace and Spirit Aspect forms become his normal condition, with their former active and passive abilities operating continuously without expenditure 452.
- Inner World influence: Learns to project developments within his Inner World onto the Outer World through Heaven-and-Earth Power, describing the process as altering the outside world’s underlying code 462.
- Integrated passives: Can attach Frost Annihilation’s passive to Sword Qi and fill passive stacks almost immediately through the movement of that qi 462.
Alchemy
His refinement speed and batch sizes astonish Huang Tianqi 24 49.
- Produces seven Supreme-grade Spirit-Breaking Pills in one refinement session 24.
- Refines two hundred Bone-Strengthening Pills at once, later exchanging them for spirit stones 24 25.
- Receives access to the outer sect Pill Room and ingredients needed for his formulas through his alchemist token 24.
- Learns formulas for Sweet Dew Pills, Second-Tier Spirit-Returning Pills, and Qi-Gathering Pills; automates Sweet Dew Pill and Qi-Gathering Pill production 49.
- Devotes entire days to refining supplies after the Azure Fox battles, aiming to overwhelm future bosses through preparation 212.
- Supplies teammates with Revival Pills and Recovery Pills before difficult encounters 321.
- Teaches alchemy without withholding knowledge from Huang Ergou, Huang Tianqi’s father, who accompanies his later expedition partly to learn from him 520.
Talisman Crafting, Artifact Refining, and Logistics
- Talisman stockpiling: Spends nights drawing talismans and carries them into boss fights, applying buffs such as Mighty Strength and Lightness before engaging 212 346.
- Automated talisman crafting: Uses system-assisted automatic production. Tai Wangshu studies it and creates a Mental Strength-based method that moves a Spirit Brush automatically 321.

- Team support: His companions regard him as a mobile treasury and powerful logistical support, with broad mastery of nearly everything except formations 285.
Resource Management and Recovery
- Automatic medicine use: Equipped healing pills activate automatically during breakthroughs and combat. He can adjust their activation threshold 7 21 48.

- Instance farming: Clears the Nether Capital Merchant Guild’s Spirit Stone, Medicinal Herb, and Equipment Materials instances for currency and supplies 38.

Relationships
- Ye Ningshuang — Rescuer, host, fellow disciple, and principal companion. She grows attached to him, while he initially describes them as friends and avoids pursuing romance because he fears her original storyline. He later prioritizes strengthening her so she can safely carry future missions 3 6 17 27 49. She willingly participates in plans to expose enemies and insists that she wants to fight rather than remain an ornament. He nevertheless feels guilty about using her as bait 88. She later kills pursuers and attacks Shura Hall to keep enemies from learning more about him 148. Their abilities become closely linked: she can summon him, models Spirit Aspects on him, and uses a Huaixu Form capable of reproducing Sword Master Form 307 423. He catches her when she collapses after the Chalk battle, and their later exchanges include the possibility of having children, although she remains jealous of Tai Wangshu 425 520.
- Lü Qingyi — Senior sect member who recruits him, rewards his adventure quest, and enhances his sword. His knowledge and combat ability intrigue her, although divination repeatedly labels his future “utterly ordinary.” She orders disciples to keep his unusual behavior secret and covers for his unexplained use of token guidance 10 11 16 18. Later questions how he knew the Thousand Mechanisms Sect’s plans, guards his tribulation, and supplies the Heavenly Tribulation Pearl 83 365. She reveals his classification as a native and personally trains him to fight without relying on the skill bar 441 456 457 458. The Heavenly Dao credits her sect reforms with helping create his present attachment to the Divine Firmament Sword Sect 461.
- He Xiuyuan — Senior brother and trusted mission companion. Ying Huaixu considers changing his originally fatal ending, helps keep him alive, and later demands serious cultivation and combat training. He supplies him with more than three hundred Qi-Gathering Pills and sets a goal of reaching Meridian Opening’s ninth level within two years 27 37 48 50. He continues monitoring He Xiuyuan’s safety and intervenes when his relationship with Cheng Wanshu threatens to reproduce a deadly storyline 141 143 192. Much later, he defeats an overconfident He Xiuyuan in one move in the Illusory Dream Trial and decides to take him monster farming 486.
- Huang Tianqi — Alchemy supporter and fellow disciple who recognizes his talent, awards his alchemist status, provides formulas, and tries unsuccessfully to persuade the Pill Peak Master to recruit him 24 49. Becomes one of his recurring raid companions and recipients of the treasures he distributes 192 244 321.
- Doctor Li — Early source of alchemical knowledge. Ying Huaixu learns the Bone-Strengthening Pill formula from him, supplies other pills for research, and warns him to keep his refinement work secret 5. After the Azure Fox encounters, he returns toward Peaceful Town intending to recruit Doctor Li as an alchemist for his growing supply needs 212.
- Xu Yaoyang — Cultivator associated with Ye Ningshuang’s original game storyline. Ying Huaixu suspects their encounter contains previously unseen history, but accepts Xu Yaoyang’s compensation and conciliatory spirit herb 34 37. Later requests his help with a traitor in an area that suppresses cultivation to Meridian Opening 94 95. Xu Yaoyang seeks his friendship and enjoys his frost aura, leaving Ying Huaixu uncomfortable and undermining his assumptions about Xu Yaoyang’s interest in Ye Ningshuang 114 138 319. Their continued cooperation does not mean Ying Huaixu always regards him as a close friend 192.
- Qiu Shiyi — Sect reinforcement who destroys the city lord’s transformed second phase. Ying Huaixu conceals his own contribution, leaving He Xiuyuan credited with the victory 48. Later helps coordinate the operation involving Xue Si and Ye Ningshuang’s exposed talent, and remains a recurring combat ally 88 417.
- He Xixiang — Sixth senior sister of the sect and later his master. Although she describes herself as poor at combat and cultivation aptitude, Ying Huaixu knows her strength makes these claims misleading 51 80 135. Feeds him experience-granting fruit, defends him from Lü Qingyi’s questioning, sends his breakthrough pill, and trains him in the Magic Sword inheritance 83 126 219. Power from her fruit saves him against the Half-Demon Azure Fox 198. Their relationship becomes close enough that sleeping beside her grants him experience; she later finds herself unable to sleep after he leaves 365 486.
- Tai Wangshu / Taiyin Saintess — Highly capable teammate whom he initially recognizes as the game’s exceptionally reliable “Sister Yin.” Her analysis and replication of system-like production methods alter his understanding of the world 319 321. Her spatial restrictions are crucial against the Star-Devouring Leader, and he later views her as an indispensable support worth protecting and developing 349 366. They team up for world-level advancement, exchange crafting knowledge, and he repairs her Dao scars 379 386 393. After threats against her, he decides she should no longer live alone; their relationship also involves personal teasing and tension that irritate Ye Ningshuang 446 450 452 520. He accepts her investigation quest in Dream Province’s Secret Realm 524.
- Xiaoxue — Combat pet and companion. Uses Frost Wolf King’s Blessing to enhance his attributes and helps freeze the Falling Star Giant Beast leader before he can self-destruct 260. Ying Huaixu later maximizes her attributes with a pet-upgrade gift pack, after which she takes human form while retaining animal habits 288.
- Eight Chi — Three-Tailed Cat he selects, names, raises, and wagers on in the Merchant Guild’s beast-fighting event 94.
- Xiaohe — Merchant Guild contact who arranges cultivation facilities and supplies. Agrees to provide future guild information in exchange for thirty percent of his beast-fighting betting funds 94 133. Ying Huaixu later requests Merchant Guild proceeds through this contact to fund advancement 251.
- Chen Zhiyuan — Formation Grandmaster whom he recruits to fill his own formation-crafting weakness, offering sect resources if Chen reaches Sea of Qi’s second layer within three months 212. Allows Chen and the others to attempt an upcoming battle without his intervention; Chen later uses a Slowing Formation to support his fight against a Return to True enemy 244 423.
- Heavenly Dragon Princess — Ally who marks him and shares thirty percent of his attributes, while providing maps and intelligence about the Star-Devouring Clan 295. Helps bring about an alliance between the Dragon Clan and the Divine Firmament Sword Sect 306 307.
- Old Ten — Assigned companion whom Lü Qingyi permits him to employ as a laborer and instructs him to take along when going out 367. His Illusory Dream Trial combat teaches her to abandon openings caused by showy technique execution 371.
- Star-Seizing Sect Master — Political and combat ally. Recognizes his growing strength, authority, and connections, while worrying that cooperation may gradually draw the Star-Seizing Sect into the Divine Firmament Sword Sect’s orbit 362. Works with him to lure cautious Outsiders using a fabricated Star-Seizing Ancestor relic 494.
- Zhuang Mu — Sect leader and strategic collaborator who comes to regard Ying Huaixu’s influence as having raised Hongmeng’s ability to resist the Outsiders 403 492.
- Lady Nether Capital — Powerful figure who pursues him over an alleged bathing incident. He stops fleeing after seeing her purple Adventure Quest offering a mysterious Spirit Leaf in return for help cultivating lingzhi 393.
- Huang Ergou — Huang Tianqi’s father and an alchemist accompanying his later expedition. Seeks to learn Ying Huaixu’s techniques, which Ying Huaixu teaches openly 520.
