Powerful combat units like Anubis were a complete strategic counter to the High Elves.
Of course, it was not just the High Elves.
They could counter every faction on Azeroth.
In fact, every race on Azeroth possessed magical power.
The only difference was how much or how little they had.
Even the short and scrawny Kobolds had Kobold Mages who could conjure fireballs.
The Night Elves rejected arcane power.
But they also had large numbers of nature spellcasters.
When Druids encountered these enormous obsidian monsters, their only choice was to turn into bears and take them head-on.
The giant bears Druids transformed into were indeed quite large.
But they were only about the size of a compact SUV.
Against Anubis standing over ten meters tall, they were still puny little things.
Those enormous Anubis could send a Druid's giant bear form flying with a single kick.
How could the giant bears Druids transformed into compare to these powerful war machines?
Unless Druids could transform into Dragons or other powerful creatures.
Otherwise, they were destined to take a beating for nothing.
During the War of the Shifting Sands a thousand years ago, the Aqir had beaten the Night Elves into the dirt.
They dragged their feet over everything, remaining unwilling to resurrect their demigod allies.
Without the Dragon Aspects' intervention, the Night Elves might very well have been wiped out!
The same went for the High Elves facing these Anubis.
Most arcane golems stood only five meters tall. Against them, Anubis were like burly men kicking their way through a kindergarten.
Perhaps the arcane golems could wear down some of them through sheer numbers.
But they certainly would not last long enough to destroy them all.
An absolute advantage in size, coupled with magic immunity and the ability to fire volleys
