Hearing Yang Mu say this, Wen Xiancheng laughed to himself.
His Mouse Clone had finally found a powerful leg to cling to.
He had been worrying about having to supply cultivation resources for two bodies all by himself.
Now Yang Mu had taken the Mouse Clone away, and he was not only the Royal Academy's Pill Refining professor, but also the manager of its Medicinal Herb Garden.
Would I ever lack pills or medicinal herbs now?
No, I could even have the Mouse Clone steal some extra herbs and pills!
And now there would be even fewer obstacles!
Watching Yang Mu leave, Wen Xiancheng headed back.
Since Yang Mu had already contacted Sun Ying, he would finish the Noble Primary School's teaching materials during this time, then leave to find Sun Ying and ask him to help refine aptitude-enhancing marrow-cleansing pills.
And he would make more illusion buttons!
Unlike the Yue Kingdom, the Wu Kingdom was a large country. It would certainly have more people, more wealthy families, and more children of wealthy families.
If he made more illusion buttons, he might even earn some spirit stones on this trip!
Having made up his mind, Wen Xiancheng got busy. He took another button off a piece of clothing and continued constructing the ten-second illusion of Teacher Cang walking in a bikini.
Meanwhile, Yang Mu carried the Mouse Clone all the way back to the Royal Academy in his palm.
After eating the blood-coagulating pill, the Mouse Clone felt no changes in his body.
He was in no hurry, either.
Yang Mu's business card said he was a Pill Refining professor, so he probably had not been boasting.
Perhaps it was a gradual process.
Yang Mu did indeed manage the Royal Academy's Medicinal Herb Garden.
He lived in a villa at the very front of the Medicinal Herb Garden.
Outside the villa was a garden.
All sorts of medicinal herbs grew there.
Seven demon beasts were also busy among the herbs.
Some were dozing, while others were fighting.
Yang Mu actually left them alone.
The Mouse Clone immediately spotted the Two-Tailed Fox the broken-tailed mouse had mentioned!
Its snowy white fur looked beautiful.
Remembering that it and Falcon had caught the ten mice, leading Yang Mu to his door, the Mouse Clone stroked his long whiskers with his right foreleg.
Heh heh.
You offended me first. I'd be no mouse if I didn't get revenge!
Seeing the mouse stroke his whiskers, Yang Mu smiled until his eyes narrowed to slits.
What a little monster this mouse was!
Mice were said to be among the more intelligent mammals.
This mouse was a demon beast, too, and frighteningly intelligent. He really was just like a person!
I had to nurture him properly!
Carrying the Mouse Clone into the villa, Yang Mu called to the demon beasts, "Come over, everyone. I'll introduce you to a new friend."
Hearing Yang Mu, the demon beasts stopped what they were doing and followed him into the villa.
Yang Mu carried the Mouse Clone into the living room.
A sofa arranged in a square stood in the living room.
On the square sofa sat a cage.
Nine mice were locked inside.
At that moment, they were eating something resembling pistachios, having the time of their lives.
The Mouse Clone was speechless.
Gluttons!
These mice were all gluttons!
They'd been captured, and they could still stomach food!
Seeing the Mouse Clone arrive, the nine mice ran about inside the cage, waving their paws and gesticulating at him.
"I'm scared, Wen Xiancheng!" Mouse Number One sounded close to tears.
"Wen Xiancheng, hurry and get us out! The human's going to kill me!" Mouse Number Two kept biting the cage.
"Waaah, waaah, waaah! This is so scary! We've lost our freedom! Someone give me my freedom! I don't want to die!" Mouse Number Three banged his head against the iron cage.
"Wen Xiancheng, you're so stupid. You didn't even come out, and you still got caught!" Mouse Number Four looked at the Mouse Clone contemptuously.
The Mouse Clone let out a shriek, using the gestures and language unique to mice. "Idiots! You're a bunch of idiots! What the hell are you scared of? If you're scared, how could you have been happily eating his food just now? If he'd put rat poison in it, you'd all be dead!"
The nine mice immediately wilted. They stopped moving and quietly watched the Mouse Clone.
Seeing the mice behave differently the instant the Mouse Clone appeared, Yang Mu wore an expression that said he had known it all along.
Little Gray really was their leader!
Setting the Mouse Clone outside the iron cage, Yang Mu opened its iron door.
The nine mice immediately dashed out.
This time, however, they did not flee. Instead, they gathered around the Mouse Clone, warily watching Yang Mu and the other demon beasts.
Yang Mu grew even happier.
Normally, mice would bolt the moment they saw a human.
They had reacted that way when he caught them last night, too.
But with Little Gray here, they did not run!
Mouse Number One asked the Mouse Clone, "Wen Xiancheng, what do we do now? Run?"
"Run, my ass!" the Mouse Clone said. "We're not running! Do you think you can outrun these demon beasts? They'd gobble you up in no time! Now we need to cling to a powerful leg, understand?"
Mouse Number Ten, the mouse who had tried to kiss the Mouse Clone as soon as they met, asked timidly, "Then what should we do, Wen Xiancheng?"
The Mouse Clone rolled his eyes, though he had no whites to roll. "Didn't I just tell you? Cling to a powerful leg! This old man manages the Medicinal Herb Garden we keep stealing herbs from. Under him, we can eat these things openly. But you all have to follow my orders. Otherwise, don't blame me if these demon beasts eat you!"
The nine mice chimed in agreement.
"We'll listen to you!"
"Wen Xiancheng, we'll all listen to you!"
"But how do we cling to his leg?"
The Mouse Clone pointed at Yang Mu. "Run over and kiss him! Show him some affection!"
The nine mice promptly ran over and gathered around the hand Yang Mu had resting on the table, kissing it over and over.
Their antics delighted Yang Mu, and he laughed heartily. "Good! Good! Good! You've all developed some intelligence! Come on! Come on! I'll give you something good! Whether you have the fortune to become demon beasts will be up to you."
With that, Yang Mu hummed a little tune and took out his phone. "Li Li, pick a few sets of herbs for Marrow-Cleansing Liquid for me. I'm going to refine some!"
Before long, a girl wearing a long blue dress, her hair tied in a bun, came in carrying an assortment of medicinal herbs.
Yang Mu took the herbs and entered a room. He brought out a refining cauldron that stood taller than his head and began refining.
The Mouse Clone went in, too.
The nine mice followed behind him.
Upon entering the room, the Mouse Clone was stunned.
Shelves filled the entire room.
Every shelf held all sorts of dried medicinal herbs.
The nine mice immediately dashed off in excitement.
They ran onto several shelves, grabbed some herbs in their teeth, and were about to dash outside.
The Mouse Clone jumped in fright.
Their intelligence was sorely lacking!
Snatching herbs right in front of old Yang Mu-were they tired of living?
The Mouse Clone hurriedly waved his paws and stamped his feet. "Idiots, stop right there! Give those herbs to the human old man! Hurry! This isn't the time to take them home!"
The nine mice all stopped.
After giving the Mouse Clone a puzzled look, they turned back and carried the herbs in their teeth to Yang Mu's feet.
The Mouse Clone patted the herbs with his right paw, then pointed at himself and the other nine mice.
The girl named Li Li came in. Seeing this, she exclaimed, "Teacher, this Little Gray Mouse wants you to refine pills for them! He's so, so clever! Are they demon beasts, too?"
When Yang Mu had first seen the nine mice carrying off the herbs, he had looked troubled.
Now he watched the Mouse Clone's gestures and the nine mice, each holding herbs in their teeth and looking up at him with eager, pleading eyes.
Hearing Li Li's explanation, Yang Mu immediately beamed. "So that's what you meant! Good! Good! Good! As long as you behave yourselves, I'll refine whatever pills you want!"
