Hearing the gunfire beside her, the plump woman trembled uncontrollably, feeling as though she was pressing the accelerator on instinct alone.
Her body flew ahead, her soul chasing behind.
Yet Ye Xunzhi's earlier words kept replaying in her mind:
"Remember, you're the first. You're in the most danger, but you're also the safest. All you have to do is drive over there. The soldiers of Country Z will never abandon you. And when that happens, you must remember to pass what I'm about to say on to whoever defuses your bomb."
Bang! The car's tire was shot out, forcing it to a halt.
The plump woman screamed, "Don't kill me! I'm from Country Z!"
Shi Che watched the situation and quickly spoke into his radio:
"She's one of ours. Leave her to me. Don't do anything."
Ye Chuyan frowned at that. "Let me do it instead."
What he didn't know was that high atop a building, a black sniper rifle was quietly trained on the car door.
Chewing gum, Ye Xunzhi watched through the scope. The moment Ye Chuyan appeared, she would fire a warning shot.
This was only the first wave. It wasn't time for her brother to make his entrance yet.
Fortunately, it turned out that Ye Chuyan was fairly lucky. He never got the chance to receive a bullet from his own little sister.
"This is an emergency, and my car's ahead of yours. Leave it to me."
Knowing his friend was concerned about him, Shi Che jumped out first after saying that and cautiously approached.
Seeing this, Ye Chuyan stopped insisting.
Reaching the target vehicle safely, Shi Che pulled the door open with his toolbox in hand. To the plump woman, he looked like a savior.
"Save me! Save me!!!"
"Don't worry, ma'am. You're safe now.
