Ye Qi'an belongs to the Ye family, whose father had six children with different mothers and left them for Old Master Ye to raise. Their father's neglect eventually led the old man to sever their father-son relationship 2.

Obsessed with research and medicine since childhood, Ye Qi'an spends heavily on laboratory equipment and reagents. Old Master Ye refuses to fund this work, leaving him chronically short of money despite his medical ability 42.

He works at Magic City First Hospital, which maintains dedicated Chinese and Western medicine departments. Unlike practitioners who remain within one discipline, he also studies Chinese medicine under Physician Qian.
