Background / History
Family and the Original Lei
Lei’s mother, Uchiha Yumi, was a chūnin rescued from Amegakure attackers by Chiaki, a Senju chūnin. They completed her escort mission together and became lovers. Chiaki later sacrificed himself with an explosive tag to kill an Amegakure jōnin and save Yumi 1.
Yumi learned she was pregnant while recovering in Konoha Hospital. Her friend Uchiha Miko persuaded her to live and raise the child. Lei’s difficult birth left Yumi chronically ill, but she continued taking missions to support him until her death 1.
The original Lei’s Rinnegan awakening devastated his body rather than earning him recognition. Clan members believed he had failed to awaken the Sharingan and called him useless. Although Grand Elder Uchiha Yama prohibited open slander, bullying continued privately and at the Academy. Physical suffering and ridicule eventually killed him 1.
Yu Lei’s Transmigration
Yu Lei was electrocuted while writing his novel late at night. His soul entered the recently deceased Lei’s body, and he awakened in an unfamiliar classroom with the original owner’s memories 1.
His knowledge of the Naruto storyline informs both his ambitions and his attempts to avert future tragedies. He recognizes Kushina’s future role, knows Kurama’s name, discusses Madara’s survival with Mito, and warns Hizashi about a future Kumogakure peace delegation 11 15 16 37.
He later uses this knowledge to question the assumption that a Rinnegan bearer will necessarily save the world, encourages Minato and Nami to have a child, and prepares for the Night of the Nine-Tails rather than waiting for events to unfold unchanged 72 89 164.
Adulthood and Family
Lei and Kushina reach their coming-of-age ceremonies on the same day. By this period, he serves as an Academy instructor and has helped introduce Minato to Nami Uzumaki, an orphan he rescued in the Land of Grass 88 89.
After Kushina becomes pregnant, Lei marries her in a public ceremony officiated by Hiruzen. Mikoto is also later confirmed pregnant, and she reminds Lei that their own wedding is scheduled for the following week 145 149 160.
By the ending, his household has expanded considerably. Kaguya gives birth to their son Uchiha Shouye in the second year of the concluding peace, while Mikoto and numerous other partners also have children. The epilogue describes the flourishing of their bloodlines and the Uchiha Clan throughout the Shinobi World 169 170.
Appearance
- Childhood condition: Became emaciated after his first Rinnegan awakening; recovered from his frailty after the system’s activation 1 2 6.
- At age ten: Stands 1.7 meters tall, noticeably taller than his classmates and even many sixth-year students 34.
- Features: Medium-long hair, swordlike eyebrows, striking eyes, a high nose bridge, thin pale-red lips, and a muscular build. His ordinary eyes are black; activating the Sharingan turns them scarlet 29 34.
- Usual outfit: A gray, open-front shinobi top modeled on future Sasuke’s clothing, a blue sash, blue-black trousers, weapon pouches, and black ninja sandals 34.
- After graduation: Wears his genin forehead protector over his forehead specifically for protection 46.
- At age eleven: Karura remarks that his height makes him look fourteen or fifteen 66.
- Later hair description: A later encounter with Mei Terumi describes him as having distinctive white hair; the supplied passage does not explain the change from his earlier appearance 150.
- Mangekyō patterns: His first completed Mangekyō has six-pointed-star patterns. After the Itachi- and Sasuke-version eyes merge, its pattern matches Sasuke’s Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan 53 164.
Personality
Lei is affectionate and protective toward those close to him. He rushes to rescue Kushina from bullies, repeatedly comforts her when she cries, and accepts responsibility for protecting her as the future Nine-Tails jinchūriki 4 5 14 24.
He is also calculating about his advantages. He negotiates with Yama for techniques and protection, prefers self-study over a teacher he suspects would monitor him, and times his activities around system rewards. During his confrontation with Hiashi, he postpones the match long enough to collect additional plundering gains 6 29.
His confidence frequently becomes possessiveness and provocation. He publicly claims responsibility for protecting Mie, mocks Hiashi, and pressures Tsunade over her supposed interest in Dan Katō. By contrast, after defeating Fugaku, he deliberately credits the victory to Fugaku’s carelessness to preserve the young clan leader’s dignity 12 28 38.
In battle, Lei distinguishes sharply between school matches and enemy encounters. He accepts Fugaku’s and Hiashi’s defeats without killing them, but eliminates the Amegakure squad without hesitation—even cutting down a chūnin who begins to surrender. Tsunade and Mikoto are startled by his ruthlessness 12 29 49 50.
His later conduct also includes coercion toward prospective partners. He demands that Suiren repay her rescue by bearing his child, threatens Yanryū until she agrees to accompany him, and justifies Pakura’s capture as a means of preserving her Scorch Release bloodline for Konoha despite her objections 93 124.
Despite his growing power and expanding household, he remains capable of recognizing personal neglect. When Mikoto points out that Kushina has been waiting for him while he visits other partners, he feels guilty, admits his carelessness, and immediately goes to her 142.
His political confidence ultimately becomes overt authority: he orders villagers to accept Tsunade as Fourth Hokage and declares himself her Hokage Advisor. The ending presents peace as the result of his defeat of powerful enemies and destruction of the conspiracies threatening the world 160 170.
Abilities & Skills
Naruto Plunder System
The system allows Lei to acquire attributes, possessions, and other rewards from important characters 2.
- Proximity and contact: Nearby presence, hand-holding, and closer contact produce different plundering rates. His first ordinary contact with Kushina increases the listed amount from 0.1% to 1% and shortens its countdown 2 9 17.
- Progress rewards: Partial completion can grant chakra or ocular power before the targeted physique or eye ability is fully acquired 4 9 29.
- Targets: Documented targets include sage bodies, Sharingan, Byakugan, money, clothing, and ninja tools 22 25 29 34 50.
- Forced plundering: While Tsunade treats him, his body traps her hand and drains chakra as the system completes his basic Senju sage body. She is left exhausted and asleep 22.
- Battlefield limitation: Equipment destroyed during combat may be unavailable as loot; the system attributes the jōnin’s meager rewards to explosive-tag damage 50.
- Kill rewards: Defeated enemies can yield bloodline abilities and entire mastered technique sets. Killing the Third Kazekage grants Magnet Release and his ninjutsu, while killing Hanzō grants his poison, movement, combat, and Water Release techniques 64 75.
- Lifespan rewards: Killing the Third Kazekage adds 36 days to Lei’s lifespan. His later panel records 93 years and 36 days, although the supplied passages do not account individually for every increase 64 88.
- Independent eye rewards: The system states that rewarded bloodline eyes are independent and do not affect his other eyes. Lei interprets this as allowing him to obtain additional eye sets if necessary; this statement is not itself an explicit guarantee that his first Mangekyō cannot deteriorate 53.
- Dual cultivation and fusion: Later notifications identify dual cultivation as a plundering method. Indra’s Chakra automatically fuses with his Asura Sage Body, while his acquired Itachi-version Mangekyō automatically merges with the Sasuke-version eyes 90 160 164.
Sage Bodies and Chakra
- Possesses a basic Senju sage body and an intermediate Uzumaki sage body by age ten 34.
- His complete basic Senju physique lets him absorb 20 ka of newly supplied chakra in ten minutes 24.
- Has yin, yang, fire, lightning, earth, wind, and water chakra affinities 2 34.
- Despite his reserves, early Rinnegan use causes marked pallor and exhaustion 15 17.
- His later panel records intermediate Senju and Uzumaki sage bodies and 254.5 chakra units 88.
- Eventually possesses an Asura Sage Body, which combines with newly acquired Indra’s Chakra to produce the power of all creation and a further Rinnegan awakening 160.
- Reaches 60% progress toward Kushina’s Mount Myōboku senjutsu; the cited notification records partial progress rather than completed mastery 90.
Rinnegan
Lei’s strongest early trump card is the Rinnegan, which he initially keeps concealed from village observers 15.
- Shinra Tensei: Repels Kurama’s Tailed Beast Bomb into his face and drives Kurama backward with the same expanding force 15.
- Deterrence: Kurama surrenders after recognizing the Rinnegan and becomes willing to listen to Lei 16.
- Cost: The demonstrated attack consumes a large amount of chakra and leaves Lei needing rest 15 17.
- Later awakening: Fusion of Indra’s Chakra with his Asura Sage Body reshapes his ocular power and grants two additional techniques. This occurs despite the Rinnegan already appearing in his earlier panels 25 34 160.
- Time Reversal: Turns time back by several seconds at an extreme chakra cost 160.
- Amenotejikara: Exchanges positions and enables instantaneous movement within a specified range. Lei later uses it to seize Kaguya 160 169.
Sharingan and Genjutsu
- Three-tomoe Sharingan: Acquired by the early-graduation period and used during the Amegakure ambush 34 49.
- Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique: Immobilizes opponents through eye contact. Lei uses it against Hiashi’s activated Byakugan and repeatedly combines it with lethal follow-up attacks against Amegakure chūnin 29 49.
- Other recorded genjutsu: Mirror Heaven and Earth Exchange and Genjutsu: Sharingan 25 34.
- Mangekyō Sharingan: Completes the Sasuke-version six-pointed-star Mangekyō after previously reaching 50% progress. Its acquisition grants mastery of Perfect Susanoo, Amaterasu, and Kagutsuchi 46 53.
- Susanoo: Manifests a gigantic purple chakra avatar. Against the Four-Tails jinchūriki, its skeleton forms first, followed by muscles and chakra pathways 104.
- Predictive perception: Reads Jūzō Biwa’s sword movements and controls their duel by striking openings in his defenses 110.
- Bringer-of-Darkness Technique: Listed as mastered in his later panel. Lei uses it to deprive the Third Raikage of sight before binding and killing him 88 136.
- Kotoamatsukami: Demonstrates the consciousness-altering Mangekyō genjutsu against Obito, leaving him blank-eyed and motionless 147.
- Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan: Results from the automatic fusion of his Sasuke- and Itachi-version Mangekyō. He retains both versions’ abilities, although the supplied passage does not individually enumerate the newly added Itachi-version techniques 164.
Byakugan
- Begins plundering Mie’s main-family Byakugan at the Academy and has acquired it by his age-ten status panel 25 34.
- Uses it during his post-battle search of the Amegakure squad, then deactivates it to avoid wasting chakra 50.

| Sealing techniques | Adamantine Sealing Chains | Listed as mastered in his later panel 88. |
| Infiltration and transformation | Mayfly, Impersonation, Harem Technique | Listed as mastered; uses Mayfly to pursue Kisame underground 88 100. |
| Basic techniques | Body Flicker, Three Basic Techniques | Uses Body Flicker extensively for travel and combat; evades a kunai thrust with Substitution. Later acquires mastery of Hanzō’s version of Body Flicker 4 34 75. |
Learning Talent and Chakra Control
- Top-tier learning talent: Memorizes technique scrolls at a glance; a few practice attempts are described as sufficient for mastery 6 48.

Relationships
- Uchiha Mikoto — Childhood friend and first love. She cared for him after his mother’s death, supports him in duels, and knows about his Rinnegan. Lei later reassures her that she is his principal wife 1 12 13 15 45. Her attributes provide several major advancements, including his Mangekyō versions and Indra’s Chakra. She is later pregnant, their wedding is scheduled, and she gives birth during the concluding period 53 149 160 164 169.
- Kushina Uzumaki — His first system-unlocking contact, close companion, and eventual wife. Their friendship begins when he stands up for her; Mito later proposes their engagement, and Lei promises to protect her 2 4 14 25. They reach adulthood together, and Hiruzen officiates their wedding after her pregnancy is confirmed 89 145.
- Hyuga Mie — Classmate and fiancée. Lei defeats Hiashi after intervening over her clan’s marriage restrictions; Mito subsequently secures her family’s approval 28 29 31. He later honors a promise to visit her at the front, and she eventually has his child 57 170.
- Tsunade — Teacher, medical rescuer, and romantic partner. Their relationship is initially private, then publicly acknowledged at the army’s departure 22 38 43 47. - Uchiha Yama — Patron, faction leader, and Mikoto’s father. Protects Lei from open clan slander, supplies techniques, and ties approval of his relationship with Mikoto to becoming stronger 1 6 7 45. Their relationship later develops into an openly acknowledged father-in-law and son-in-law bond 113.
- Kurama — Initially hostile, then cooperative after Lei’s Rinnegan display. Lei offers friendship and promises a future humanoid clone through which Kurama could leave the sealed world 15 16.
