When Xia Yan followed the Anbu to the oasis outside Sunagakure, a voice quickly reached his ears, making him look up curiously.
An old man stood beside the lake. He looked utterly unremarkable, just like an ordinary person.
But Xia Yan frowned the moment he saw him. The two masked Anbu ninja standing behind the old man only further confirmed his guess.
"I never expected it would be you, Lord Ebizo."
Xia Yan's voice sounded very gentle, with a hint of surprise, as though he had never imagined he would encounter him.
Indeed, Xia Yan really had never imagined that the person meeting him would be Ebizo, the director of Sunagakure's Anbu!
Xia Yan did have some impressions of this old man, beyond the fact that his older sister was Chiyo.
The Anbu alone had no shortage of descriptions of this Sunagakure Anbu director.
There was little about him in the original story because he was already old, and much of his information had been sealed away.
But the Anbu had access to the relevant information, and Xia Yan naturally would not miss it.
"It seems you know me." Ebizo nodded slightly, then turned his gaze toward Yashamaru on Xia Yan's shoulder. "What happened to him? There's a seal on him. Why knock him out as well?"
"After all, he's getting closer and closer to his homeland." Although Xia Yan was somewhat wary, his tone did not change at all. "To avoid any trouble that might cause unnecessary disputes, it's better to let him rest."
"It seems you do qualify to be a captain. At least you have a way with words." Ebizo nodded slightly. "Well then, put him down."
"Of course, Lord Ebizo." Xia
