Owl felt the changes in his body and glared furiously at Xia Yan.
He had been on guard against Xia Yan all along, because he felt there was something wrong with the man. Or rather, he had never trusted Xia Yan from the very beginning.
After all, this man had been bold enough to attack him inside Konoha Anbu headquarters. Back then, he had even considered attacking Murashima Takumi!
He was a dangerous man, and a powerful, deeply ambitious one at that.
Owl had truly never dared trust him, even after he became an Anbu Captain and seemingly gained the Third Hokage's trust.
But Owl did not trust him, and he knew the Third Hokage's trust in Xia Yan was limited as well.
Besides, as an Anbu, he was supposed to remain vigilant at all times. With so much unpleasant history between them, not to mention Xia Yan's identity as a member of the Senju Clan, how could he possibly trust the man?
And now, everything seemed to have been confirmed. This bastard really did harbor sinister intentions, and he had attacked him!

Xia Yan calmly watched Owl before him, his voice becoming exceptionally gentle and soft once again.
