Minato Namikaze looked at Xia Yan with a rather strange expression. He had never imagined he would receive an answer like that.
Learning Sealing Jutsu in a little over a month was not particularly unusual. He himself had taken a little over a month back then.
But the problem was that Xia Yan was an Anbu, and he had been out on a mission throughout that past month and more!
First, he had spent time gathering intelligence, then subdued a powerful lizard as a summoning beast, and afterward rescued the Third Battalion and helped them complete their mission.
Amid such a packed mission schedule, he had actually managed to learn Sealing Jutsu too?

Minato certainly did not think the boy had had time to slack off. The report for this operation was still sitting on his desk!
Other than talent, he could not seem to think of any other explanation.
"Yes, I learned it." Xia Yan smiled and nodded. "Although I've been rather busy lately, your instruction was very effective, Lord Hokage. After spending some time on it, I understood a great deal and became able to use some simple Sealing Jutsu."
"Really?" Minato still seemed somewhat dazed.
Use some simple Sealing Jutsu?
The thing about Sealing Jutsu was that once you could perform one, even a relatively simple one,
you could draw on that understanding to comprehend other jutsu, and even try performing them.
The difficulty of Sealing Jutsu lay in getting started and understanding it. Once you crossed that threshold, the path became considerably easier, though only easier.
Studying it in greater depth was still quite difficult.
If represented on a graph, the curve for Sealing Jutsu would peak at the beginning and the end, while the stretch in between was actually flat.
