The Molotov cocktail Yang Yi had thrown went out again.

The number of shadows on the deck rose to 62.

They gathered around the bonfire, black fog spilling from their eye sockets and forming a hazy patch of black cloud over the deck.

With more of them present, Yang Yi noticed that the shadows differed in build. Most stood between 1.9 and 2.5 meters tall, with long, slender bodies, while the smallest was barely over a meter tall.

Although they had no eyeballs, both Yang Yi and Su Na could feel their gazes, sending a chill across their skin.

"Their numbers should have stabilized at 62." Yang Yi counted the shadows using Three Eyes, then spoke to Su Na beside him.

She understood, aimed an arrow coated in Holy Water at a shadow below, and fired, striking her target squarely.

Normally, Holy Water looked unremarkable, little different from ordinary fresh water. But upon contact with darkness, it emitted a faint white glow that had a powerful dispelling effect on the darkness.

The shadow was no exception, dispersed by the light from the arrow that passed straight through its body.

After the shadow dispersed, the faint glow on the arrow lasted nearly a minute before fading, creating an empty zone within the black cloud.

Once the light disappeared, Yang Yi counted the shadows again. There were now 61.

That meant the shadow had been killed, or rather, dispelled.

To be safe, Yang Yi waited several minutes and counted again. Only after confirming the result did he nod and speak to Su Na.

"We can be sure now. Holy Water really can destroy the shadows. There's one less of them."

He contacted Zhou Dai, hoping to buy another 50 bottles of Holy Water, but limited stock meant he could only buy 30.
