Su Na went back to her room first to sleep and rest.
With nothing to do, Yang Yi sat on deck and fished alongside the Old Captain.
But he caught nothing, and his mind was not entirely on fishing.
Their earlier exploration had made it clear that the Shelter had been abandoned for a long time. The local indigenous people had also looted its interior, leaving almost nothing of value.
But one thing weighed on Yang Yi's mind-he had found no player corpses inside the Shelter.
That could be explained by so much time having passed that the players' corpses had disappeared.
But the complete absence of any traces was still somewhat puzzling.
Moreover, the ship's overall structure was quite intact. It did not look as though it had been through a major battle.
Most of the damage had been left by indigenous people who came later, and their purpose had been to carry off valuables, not to fight.
If a large-scale, high-intensity battle capable of wiping out tens of thousands of players had taken place, the Shelter could never have remained this intact. Breaking apart or even sinking would have been the most likely outcome.
Yang Yi turned his head to look over, his gaze settling on the intersection of the Shelter's cross-shaped structure, where a damaged lighthouse still stood.
That section of the hull showed obvious damage that looked as though it had been left by combat.
But that little evidence of combat could never account for the deaths of tens of thousands of players.
More secrets were probably still hidden inside.
Yang Yi wanted to go in and take a look, even though the lighthouse had most likely been looted clean.
But that location was the captain's quarters, after all. Some clues might have been left behind.
