After Yang Yi finished speaking, both Yu Dawei and Zhang Zhi fell silent.
If what he said was true.
Then their earlier plan to land on the island from underwater had become a meaningless suicide mission.
If they really went through with it, everyone present except Yang Yi would probably die to that terrifying super cannon.
"...Steam Island's underwater defenses are actually stronger than its defenses on shore. They were very likely prepared specifically to deal with underwater enemies."
Yang Yi offered his conjecture, hinting at something.
Yu Dawei and Zhang Zhi immediately caught on. Yu Dawei even spoke up. "You mean those cannons were prepared to eliminate sea monsters?"
"Possibly. There might be more than just sea monsters underwater."
Yang Yi replied, recalling the Abyss Scavenger he had once seen, as well as the "net" that had appeared once in the Boiling Sea.
"Hiss... What should we do, then?" Yu Dawei was momentarily at a loss.
"Do we have no choice but to give up on this island for now and explore it once we're stronger?" he asked in frustration.
Beside him, Zhang Zhi remained silent. Yu Dawei had done all the talking, but the two were probably discussing things through the system's private messages.
"No, the plan remains unchanged. We'll still break through underwater."
Yang Yi had laid so much groundwork at the start, yet when it came to the plan, he made another complete about-face.
"The firepower on shore is only weak relative to large sea monsters. For us, those cannons and missiles are still lethal, and the newly assembled ones are highly accurate."
He gave much the same reasoning as before, still believing they should break through underwater.
"But didn't you say there were lots of super cannons underwater?"
"Well..."
"Let me explain that in detail.
