Yang Yi immediately realized what he had encountered: some kind of monster adept at mental attacks.
But after the attack, his sanity rose instead of falling. He calmed down, his sanity increasing by two points. Even the Maw of Gluttony grew less restless, perhaps sensing a threat.
Su Na and Cui Xiya had similar experiences. Both of them heard the strange voice too.
The former had a high Spirit attribute and successfully resisted it, but her sanity dropped. She was now scanning her surroundings warily, finally fixing her attention on a metal box bound with numerous chains beneath the open-air passage.
The box was enormous and sat at the very center of this hollow space. Numerous transparent pipes on its surface connected it to the surrounding factories, some even extending to the outer wall.
