After more than eight hours of incubation, the first Engineering Robot designed by Su Na was finally produced and ready for acceptance testing and inspection.
It looked very much like Xiaoji equipped with ground-operation components, but was much larger, standing twenty meters tall and reaching even higher with its Mechanical Arms extended. It was produced by the Large Robot Processing Factory.
Its functions were also almost identical to Xiaoji's, but it lacked the weapons added later.
In exchange, it had more engineering tools integrated into its body, could adapt to almost any terrain, and could fly short distances, allowing it to carry out construction in almost any environment.
This was actually the second design Su Na had submitted. It was somewhat halfhearted, but perfectly met Yang Yi's requirements: low cost, fast incubation, long endurance, a degree of intelligence and offensive capability, and, finally, adaptability to various terrains and environments.
Taking all these requirements together, Su Na had simply copied Xiaoji's design, slightly altered its dimensions and integrated components, and created this Engineering Robot, naming it the "Bigji Robot."
Su Na's original design had actually been different. She had proposed making Nanoscale Robots, carried and powered by a mother unit, which could also use materials from their surroundings to replicate themselves.
That way, a single robot could produce an endless number of new machines, ultimately achieving automated production and construction.
But the Finite Miracle Factory refused to recognize such a design and rejected it outright on the grounds that it was "unscientific."
"This factory can absolutely do it. It's just deliberately refusing to produce them!"
Su Na declared with certainty, her opinion of the factory plummeting. Then, in an extremely short time, she turned around and submitted a second design, resulting in the current "Bigji Robot."
