Arc 20Deathbirth Star and Dream Awakening

Yang Yi fought the Deathbirth Society’s fleet, survived a catastrophic blast through his Undeath Disease, and escaped with evidence about the Deathbirth Star. As he recovered, he upgraded Xiaoji, forged new gear, and explored Ship Models before a siren revealed that his prolonged sleep had been a nightmare.

  • Yang Yi led the Nightmare Star and its summoned fishmen against the Deathbirth Society fleet, then was caught in a bomb blast and the Space-Based Wave Cannon’s attack.
  • Yang Yi’s Undeath Disease restored him, and he destroyed enemy ships and Black Crow Enforcers before discovering that the Deathbirth Society had killed itself and scuttled its ships.
  • Yang Yi examined the Society’s records, learned how Undeath Disease spread, removed the infected Parasitic Wings, and shared the Death Plague Sea map with the Fleet.
  • Yang Yi tested the remains of his enemies, obtained equipment and a Biochemical Magnetic Rail Rifle, and upgraded Xiaoji into a Multifunctional Combat Robot-Xiaoji, second generation.
  • Su Na examined Yang Yi’s nearly unhealable body, while Yang Yi received payment from Yu Dawei and learned more about Steam Island and the Deathbirth Star.
  • Yang Yi summoned Grand Craftsman Banks from the Greedy Craftsman’s Hammer, forced him to help, and forged a belt that let him use Oathbreaker Slash without the Forsworn Soul.
  • Cui Xiya fell under Wendigo’s Banquet after reading the Corpse-Eating Cult Introductory Manual, so Yang Yi restrained and quarantined her while Su Na read the book and learned Primal Call.
  • Yang Yi made Ship Models that transformed the Nightmare Star into a wooden sailboat disguise, then fell asleep and awoke to a siren asking if he needed a second treatment after more than seventy-two hours unconscious.
Chapters 476–500 Vol. 5 Read

Ch. 476Driven Out, Part Two

Yang Yi and the Nightmare Star evaded repeated Space-Based Wave Cannon strikes while the Deathbirth Society mobilized a fleet to stop them. As the ship approached the enemy force, Yang Yi prepared to fight and retreat toward the Sea of No Light.

  • Gilbert watched the Nightmare Star dodge the first Wave Cannon strike and ordered the Deathbirth Society ships to converge on it.
  • Yang Yi warned the crew about the cannon, ordered Cui Xiya to switch the Hunt to the Screaming Demon's corpse, and decided to flee toward the Sea of No Light.
  • Yang Yi took the helm toward the surrounding fleet while Su Na fed the Great Sea Lung the last two drops of Fruit of Abundance Extract.
  • Gilbert ordered his ships to spread out, target the Nightmare Star's propulsion, and hold the Big-Mouth Knight for another Wave Cannon strike.
  • The Nightmare Star dodged three more cannon shots with increasingly powerful leaps, then closed to ten nautical miles from the sixty-two enemy ships.

Ch. 477Expulsion, Part Two

Yang Yi prepared the Nightmare Star to break through the Deathbirth Society’s fleet while Su Na assessed its biomechanical enemies and Cui Xiya was assigned to steer. The enemy fired a devastating long-range shot at the ship, convincing Yang Yi’s crew that the biomechanical constructs had to be destroyed quickly.

  • Yang Yi identified seven biomechanical enemies among the Deathbirth Society’s ships and planned a fast assault through their line.
  • Yang Yi assigned Cui Xiya to steer the Nightmare Star while he fought, and left Su Na and Xiaoji to defend the deck.
  • The Deathbirth Society broadcast a demand that the Nightmare Star disarm and submit to inspection, but Yang Yi refused to comply.
  • A ranged biomechanical construct fired a bone projectile from over 9,000 meters away, tearing apart Su Na’s Stitched Monster and punching through the Painful Wailing Cabin.
  • Commander Gilbert called the shot a warning, while Yang Yi and his crew concluded that the dangerous biomechanical constructs had to be destroyed quickly.

Ch. 478Takeoff

Yang Yi charged the Deathbirth Society fleet while dodging its railgun fire, then used the Parasitic Wings to gain the ability to fly. The chapter ended with him testing his new flight and confirming that the Society was targeting him rather than the Nightmare Star.

  • Yang Yi ordered Cui Xiya to drive the Nightmare Star at full speed toward the Deathbirth Society fleet.
  • Captain Gilbert directed four Black Crow Enforcers to shoot Yang Yi, who dodged most of the railgun bullets and deflected one with the Broken Iron Greatsword.
  • Yang Yi attached the Parasitic Wings to his back, where the parasite took root and grew despite being scorched by his flames.
  • The Parasitic Wings burst open into flaming feathers, and the Deathbirth Society warned its units that Yang Yi could fly.
  • Yang Yi gained the ability to fly, tested his new wings, and confirmed that the enemies were targeting him.

Ch. 479War, Part One

Yang Yi used the Royal Trident to summon thousands of infected fishmen as the Nightmare Star and the Deathbirth Society fleet began fighting. The Nightmare Star survived the opening exchange, while its cannons sank the first enemy ship.

  • Cui Xiya urged Yang Yi to evade the Deathbirth Society fleet, but he stayed near the Nightmare Star and prepared the Royal Trident.
  • Yang Yi activated the Royal Trident and summoned more than eight thousand fishmen from the surrounding waters.
  • Commander Gilbert ordered the Deathbirth Society ships to attack as Yang Yi commanded the fishmen to kill everyone aboard them.
  • The Black Crow Enforcers fired on the Nightmare Star, while its Rotary Beam Cannon destroyed incoming drones and Yang Yi shot back with the Roaring Flintlock.
  • Su Na used Animated Weaponry Magic to deflect some incoming shells, and Bone Arms and vines repaired damage to the Nightmare Star.
  • The Nightmare Star's cannons launched a Rotting Whale onto an enemy ship, and after two more volleys the ship sank.

Ch. 480War, Part Two

Cui Xiya and Yang Yi fought the Deathbirth Society’s fleet as proliferative Fishmen swarmed its ships and the Nightmare Star attacked with its cannons. Yang Yi disabled a Black Crow Enforcer, but Gilbert detonated its bomb, leaving Yang Yi engulfed in an explosion as ominous heartbeats sounded from the smoke.

  • Cui Xiya deftly piloted the Nightmare Star through enemy fire while proliferative Fishmen attacked the Deathbirth Society’s ships and the Nightmare Star’s cannons sank vessels.
  • Gilbert ordered his fleet to sink the Nightmare Star, but the Fishmen and other creatures made it difficult to carry out his command.
  • Yang Yi attacked a ranged Black Crow Enforcer, dismantled it, and set it alight until it stopped moving.
  • Yang Yi learned that Black Crow Enforcers contained remotely detonated bombs, then sensed the damaged Enforcer’s core charging with energy.
  • Gilbert detonated the Enforcer’s bomb, blasting Yang Yi and half the ship as heartbeats sounded from the smoke.

Ch. 481War, Part Two

Su Na and the Nightmare Star’s crew fought off the Deathbirth Society ships while Yang Yi battled a Black Crow Enforcer. Both Enforcers self-destructed, and after Yang Yi was badly injured, Commander Gilbert caught him in an electrified net and fired the Space-Based Wave Cannon.

  • Su Na used the Nightmare Star’s vines, Ancient Skeleton Arms, and weapons to repel boarders and suppress the enemy ships attacking from the right.
  • Su Na drank her last Supermagic Potion and froze the Black Crow Enforcer’s ship with a spell, then warned Cui Xiya to move away before the orb exploded.
  • The Black Crow Enforcer fighting Yang Yi self-destructed, badly damaging him and destroying his left arm and much of his left side.
  • An underwater net caught Yang Yi and dragged him beneath the water as Commander Gilbert fired the Space-Based Wave Cannon.

Ch. 482Infected with undeath

Yang Yi survived the Deathbirth Star’s wave cannon through Refuse Death, but the blast infected him with Undeath Disease. As he returned to the battlefield inside a fiery giant’s body, the war continued and the disease’s world-ending potential became clear.

  • Commander Gilbert fired the Deathbirth Star’s wave cannon at Yang Yi, apparently destroying him and catching nearby ships in the blast.
  • Su Na confirmed Yang Yi’s Qi and Blood and Sanity had fallen to 1, then attacked enemy ships with ice spheres while the battlefield paused.
  • A flaming hand rose from the sea, seized the underwater Black Crow Enforcer that had ambushed Yang Yi, and burned it to molten iron.
  • Yang Yi’s Undeath Disease activated, restoring his Qi and Blood to full and revealing that the infection could spread without limit if his Sanity and Spirit reached 0.
  • Yang Yi regenerated underwater as the Burning Giant’s Heart formed a giant body of flame around him, and he grabbed his attacker as he rose toward the surface.

Ch. 483Breakout and Questions

Yang Yi, transformed into a Flame Giant after surviving the Space-Based Wave Cannon, broke through the Deathbirth Society fleet while keeping his body submerged to contain his Undeath Disease. After Captain Gilbert explained why the Society had attacked him, Yang Yi asked for information about the disease, and Gilbert's crew answered with gunfire.

  • Yang Yi used his flaming hands to destroy enemy ships and Black Crow Enforcers while the Nightmare Star escaped the blockade.
  • Captain Gilbert suspected Yang Yi had contracted the Death Plague and tried to contact the Matron, but the Deathbirth Star lit up early and disrupted communications.
  • Yang Yi destroyed the remaining Black Crow Enforcers and sensed numerous Undeath Disease sufferers inside the artificial satellite.
  • Gilbert told Yang Yi that the Matron had ordered the attack because she judged he was likely to contract Undeath Disease, and Yang Yi asked for information about its transmission and containment.
  • Someone threw a phone into the water, then gunshots rang out in an unbroken burst.

Ch. 484Suicide

Yang Yi discovered that the Deathbirth Society fleet had chosen mass suicide to avoid the undying disease, then searched Captain Gilbert’s phone for information about why they had attacked him. He found records linking the attack to the Matron and suspected the fleet could only submit reports at night, but his attempt to contact her failed.

  • Yang Yi saw the Deathbirth Society members kill themselves and watched their ships self-destruct, salvaging a few bodies, including the remains of Captain Gilbert.
  • After his Burning Giant form ended, Yang Yi examined the recovered phone and found its last command urging the Society to die to protect the world.
  • Yang Yi deleted footage and records of his Bald Werewolf appearance after learning the Matron administered the satellite and that the Society had reported Crystal Island’s disappearance.
  • Yang Yi read Captain Gilbert’s old reports and noticed he had submitted them after eleven at night in the Death Plague Sea.
  • Yang Yi messaged the Matron to test whether reports could only be sent at night, but the message failed.

Ch. 485Records of the Undeath Disease

Yang Yi discovered that the Deathbirth Star had failed to respond to his infection with the Undeath Disease, suggesting something had gone wrong aboard the artificial satellite. After learning how the disease spread and how sanity could suppress its passive transmission, he planned to wait until his sanity recovered before returning, while warning Su Na to monitor the Deathbirth Star.

  • Yang Yi found the Deathbirth Society’s records describing the Undeath Disease as an unstoppable threat and ordering the Deathbirth Star to capture anyone potentially infected.
  • Yang Yi noticed that the Deathbirth Star had not activated war mode and suspected that something had gone wrong inside it, potentially endangering other imprisoned Undead.
  • Yang Yi sent Su Na screenshots of the database, which included records condemning the Fire Worship Cult and its Grand Elder’s attempt to infiltrate the Deathbirth Star.
  • Yang Yi learned that the Undeath Disease could spread actively through touch or passively through declining spirit and sanity, while Su Na calculated that high sanity and her Witch Set could reduce his passive transmission radius to zero.
  • Yang Yi decided to wait until his sanity recovered to 100 before returning and asked Su Na to watch the Deathbirth Star, while recognizing that uncontrolled infection could spawn an Immortality Order.

Ch. 486Source of Wings

Yang Yi removed the regenerating, plague-infected wings from his back and discovered their egg-shaped source. While swimming toward the Nightmare Star, he copied a sea map from the phone and learned more about Rust Disease and Steam Island.

  • Yang Yi used the Maw of Gluttony and a cleaver to remove his growing wings, which multiplied as he cut them.
  • Yang Yi found and removed the opened egg connected to his spine, then identified it as the Source of Wings infected with Wing Disease.
  • Yang Yi stored the egg and swam after the Nightmare Star while using the phone’s map app.
  • Yang Yi copied the Death Plague Sea map into the system and shared it with the Fleet, noting that Steam Island and Rust Island were absent.
  • Yang Yi reviewed the Rust Disease intelligence and learned that its source was a mobile ruin filled with dangerous Rust Robots; the system also confirmed he had found information on Steam Island.

Ch. 487Back aboard

Yang Yi returned to the Nightmare Star after recovering his sanity and prepared for the dangers and damage left by the battle. He ordered the ship toward the edge of the Death Plague Sea while the crew watched the Deathbirth Star and he began sorting the battle’s spoils.

  • Yang Yi boarded the Nightmare Star, rejected Su Na’s enhanced casual clothes, and accepted her Witch’s Dagger.
  • Yang Yi gave Su Na the death-plague-infected Parasitic Wings and returned her phone, then agreed to undergo an examination and avoid high-risk actions because his pollution depth was near its critical point.
  • Yang Yi ordered the Nightmare Star toward the edge of the Death Plague Sea, and the Old Captain took the helm as the ship accelerated to 70 knots.
  • Yang Yi assessed the ship’s battle damage, assigned Xiaoji to watch the artificial satellite, and oversaw construction of a three-layer canopy.
  • Yang Yi emptied the corpses from the Charred Black Giant Worm Ring to inventory the battle’s spoils.

Ch. 488Magnetic Rail Rifle

Yang Yi tested the Hunt effects of the remains he had collected and chose Captain Gilbert’s arm for its ship bonuses and reduced Death Plague infection. He used most of the Ghoul and Black Crow Guard remains for Gacha draws, obtaining a toxic restraining suit that could suppress Death Plague.

  • Yang Yi tested Ghoul and Black Crow Guard remains on the Execution Rack and rejected the Guard’s Hunt effect because it increased infection and offered little benefit.
  • Yang Yi tested Captain Gilbert’s severed arm and found it boosted durability, ship capacity, and speed while reducing Death Plague infection.
  • Yang Yi tested the Black Crow Enforcers’ remains, discovering that the Ranged unit could grant a long-range Magnetic Rail Rifle, then kept one and replaced the other Hunts with Captain Gilbert’s arm.
  • Yang Yi fed the Ghoul and Black Crow Guard remains into the Gacha Machine, receiving mostly common supplies along with protective suits, stabilizer, food, and a Black Crow Guard’s Restraining Suit.
  • Yang Yi put on the Restraining Suit after learning it suppressed Death Plague but could poison and infect anyone who was not already infected.

Ch. 489The Gacha Haul, Part One

Yang Yi fed the Black Crow Enforcers' corpses into the Gacha Machine and obtained their weapons and equipment, including a Biochemical Magnetic Rail Rifle. Xiaoji eagerly agreed to have the rifle installed, and Yang Yi used the Limb Restoration Spell to begin grafting it onto the robot.

  • Yang Yi exchanged the Melee-Type Black Crow Enforcer's corpse for a Giant Cleaver, a Giant Great Shield, and a Giant Headguard.
  • Yang Yi put the Ranged Black Crow Enforcer's corpse into the Gacha Machine and obtained a Junk Rotary Cannon, an Eyeball Drone Controller, and a Biochemical Magnetic Rail Rifle.
  • Yang Yi considered grafting the rifle onto himself but decided to ask Xiaoji, who was guarding Deathbirth Star, whether it wanted the weapon.
  • Xiaoji enthusiastically requested the rifle as a hardware upgrade, and Yang Yi cast the Limb Restoration Spell to begin modifying Xiaoji's mechanical arm and the weapon.

Ch. 490The Gacha Haul, Part Two

Yang Yi completed Xiaoji’s second-generation upgrades and received a Mid-Tier Abyss Soulstone from the Gacha Machine. During Su Na’s examination, she discovered that Yang Yi’s wounds and separated tissue reverted to their original state, leaving her determined to find a way to study his body.

  • Xiaoji integrated the Biochemical Magnetic Rail Rifle and an Eyeball Drone, becoming the Multifunctional Combat Robot-Xiaoji, second generation.
  • Yang Yi used the final gacha item and received a Mid-Tier Abyss Soulstone.
  • Yang Yi went to Su Na for an examination and was restrained on the metal bed.
  • Su Na repeatedly cut Yang Yi, but his wounds and the flames within them reverted before she could collect tissue.
  • Su Na tried to draw flames from Yang Yi with a syringe, but they returned to his body, and she resolved to find another way to study him.

Ch. 491Studying Undeath

Su Na examined Yang Yi’s Undeath Disease and concluded that his body might restore itself at the atomic level, while extreme temperatures could slow or halt its healing. At eleven, the Death Plague Sea remained in daylight as its temperature rose to 63°C, and Yang Yi stayed aboard to monitor the worsening situation.

  • Su Na tested how extreme cold and heat affected Yang Yi’s healing, using the White Shard to freeze his arm and observing a tissue sample vanish as the wound healed.
  • Su Na speculated that Yang Yi’s body could restore itself at the atomic level, though sufficiently extreme conditions might leave him unable to move.
  • Yang Yi checked his Sanity, prepared equipment for sale, and received the Mid-tier Artisan Inscription Stone and Mid-Tier Abyss Soulstone he had purchased.
  • At eleven, the World Chat Channel activated without night falling, and Yang Yi’s weather interface showed a temperature of 63°C and an unknown daylight duration.
  • Yang Yi decided not to approach the artificial celestial body, asked Xiaoji to monitor it, and found Cui Xiya exercising before receiving a payment from the Iron Brotherhood.

Ch. 492The rusty fish gun

Yang Yi received Yu Dawei’s payment and a Rusty Long-Legged Sardine Pistol, then traded and shopped while considering Yu Dawei’s invitation to meet near Steam Island. He sold two musical instruments to Shen Guanquan and obtained a photograph of the Musician, whose fleshy, wailing design reminded him of the Painful Wailing Cabin.

  • Yang Yi received 5.5 million Conch Coins from Yu Dawei, who explained that the Iron Brotherhood had made money by turning Rust Disease-infected fish into weapons.
  • Yu Dawei sent Yang Yi a Rusty Long-Legged Sardine Pistol and suggested they explore Steam Island together in a few months.
  • Yang Yi warned Yu Dawei that Steam Island attacked approaching targets and described the danger surrounding the Deathbirth Star.
  • Yang Yi bought supplies and Delicious Jerky, leaving his balance at 59.73 million Conch Coins, and concluded he could not yet afford Su Na’s 200 million requirement.
  • Yang Yi sold the Scream Drum and Wailing Horn to Shen Guanquan, the captain of the Musician, in exchange for a photograph of his ship.
  • Yang Yi recognized that the Musician’s flesh-and-blood design resembled the Painful Wailing Cabin.

Ch. 493Cui Xiya wanted to grow muscles...?

Yang Yi found Cui Xiya exercising to lose weight and learned she hoped to build muscles, then considered whether Muscle Fibers might increase her strength. He entered the Painful Wailing Cabin to repair his damaged equipment and discovered its Life Fireplace could burn corpses as fuel.

  • Yang Yi examined Cui Xiya’s miniature Broken Iron Greatsword and checked her weight, finding that her exercise and Holy Water diet had made her lighter.
  • Cui Xiya said she hoped to grow muscles, and Yang Yi considered using Grafting Surgery and Muscle Fibers to overcome her strength limit if she agreed later.
  • Yang Yi packed his damaged equipment, dismantled the Life Fireplace, and went to the Painful Wailing Cabin while Xiaoji monitored the Deathbirth Star.
  • Yang Yi explored the cool cabin’s workshop and installed the Life Fireplace, then tested it with a Long-Legged Sardine and Wriggling Corpse.
  • Yang Yi took out his damaged equipment and prepared to repair it with the Greedy Craftsman’s Hammer.

Ch. 494That'll Cost Extra

Yang Yi examined his damaged equipment and activated the Greedy Craftsman's Hammer, revealing Grand Craftsman Banks inside. Banks offered to repair Yang Yi's armor and forge a short weapon, but demanded an exorbitant fee and was shoved into the Life Fireplace before he could finish quoting a price.

  • Yang Yi inventoried his weapons, damaged gear, and repair materials, then decided he needed to fix his Penitent Armor and obtain a short melee weapon.
  • Yang Yi discovered a hand inside the Greedy Craftsman's Hammer and activated it by putting the hammer in the Life Fireplace.
  • Grand Craftsman Banks introduced himself and insisted that Yang Yi pay before he would work.
  • Banks said the Roaring Flintlock and Broken Iron Greatsword were beyond his ability to repair, then warned that repairing the Penitent Armor and broken sword would cost extra.
  • Banks quoted three hundred million Conch Coins to repair the Penitent Armor, and Yang Yi shoved him back into the Life Fireplace before he could finish naming the sword's price.

Ch. 495The Greedy Soul

Yang Yi forced master craftsman Banks to lower his repair price, then fought off Banks when the spirit tried to possess him. Banks returned to the Artisan's Hammer, which could now guide Yang Yi in repairing equipment, though only for a limited time.

  • Yang Yi threatened to burn the Greedy Craftsman's Hammer until Banks agreed to repair two pieces of equipment for ten million Conch Coins.
  • Yang Yi paid Banks five million Conch Coins upfront, restoring the craftsman's soul and body.
  • Banks invaded Yang Yi's body and tried to take it over, but Yang Yi resisted and impaled Banks's soul with the Broken Iron Greatsword.
  • Banks begged for his life and promised to repair the equipment, so Yang Yi flung his soul back onto the Artisan's Hammer.
  • Yang Yi received a system message stating that Banks could guide him in repairing one piece of Exceptional-quality equipment or lower for eight hours, followed by a 72-hour cooldown.

Ch. 496The first repair

Yang Yi used the Greedy Craftsman's Hammer and Grand Craftsman Banks's expertise to repair his damaged equipment by forging it together into a new belt-centered armor. The repairs were completed just before the eight-hour limit, and Banks's soul withdrew into the hammer.

  • Yang Yi gained craftsman's knowledge from the Greedy Craftsman's Hammer and learned about Soul, Magic, and Alchemy Craftsmen.
  • Yang Yi planned to combine his damaged equipment into armor, and Banks advised him as he gathered materials and prepared to forge.
  • Yang Yi crawled into the Life Fireplace to raise its temperature, then repeatedly stoked the flames while forging the materials.
  • Yang Yi spent nearly seven hours hammering the equipment together, using Limb Enhancement and enduring Banks's curses.
  • Yang Yi completed a belt with a metal armored head resembling the former Penitent Armor, and Banks's soul returned to the hammer.

Ch. 497The Forsworn Transforming Belt

Yang Yi tested the Forsworn Transforming Belt, prepared to offer equipment repairs, and upgraded his shield. He returned to the Captain's Quarters and found Cui Xiya transformed by a spell into a ravenous creature, so he restrained her.

  • Yang Yi tried the belt’s clothing and armor forms and successfully used Oathbreaker Slash without relying on the Forsworn Soul.
  • Yang Yi planned a new sword repair, announced his repair service, and upgraded the Giant Great Shield to Exceptional quality.
  • Yang Yi sensed malice in the Captain’s Quarters and found Cui Xiya had read the Corpse-Eating Cult Introductory Manual and fallen under Wendigo’s Banquet.
  • Cui Xiya attacked Yang Yi and bit off flesh, but his wound healed as he restrained her, closed the Magic Book, and wrapped her up.

Ch. 498Primal Call

After Cui Xiya recovered from the Magic Book’s influence, Yang Yi isolated her to watch for signs of the Death Plague and told Su Na what had happened. Su Na read the book and learned Primal Call, leaving Yang Yi oddly drawn to her.

  • Cui Xiya realized she had tried to eat Yang Yi, so he wrapped and isolated her while they watched for possible Death Plague infection.
  • Cui Xiya swore she would lose weight, gave Yang Yi her food, and asked him to keep her accountable.
  • Yang Yi brought the Magic Book to Su Na and warned her about its effects, while Su Na said she planned to eat the Stone of Truth after they left the Death Plague Sea.
  • Su Na read the Corpse-Eating Cult Introductory Manual without her Sanity falling below 65 and learned the spell Primal Call.
  • Su Na downplayed her new spell and avoided Yang Yi’s gaze as he found himself drawn to her.

Ch. 499Making a ship model for the first time

Yang Yi struggled to make a convincing model of the Iron Will, then switched to a simpler design and completed a wooden sailboat model that improved the Nightmare Star. He left the ship model workshop satisfied with the result.

  • Yang Yi and Su Na discussed the Deathbirth Star, the Matriarch, and how the Deathbirth Society might have transformed humans into ghouls.
  • Yang Yi lost track of Su Na's messages while thinking about his ship model, and she stopped responding to him.
  • Yang Yi finished an Iron Will model, but the system rated it as only 12% realistic and awarded a modest durability bonus.
  • Yang Yi decided to attempt a simpler ship model while Cui Xiya remained in quarantine.
  • Yang Yi completed a detailed wooden sailboat model, which the system rated 33% realistic and said would increase durability and speed while reducing the Nightmare Star's volume.

Ch. 500Ship transformation and dreams

Yang Yi tested the Nightmare Star’s Ship Model transformation, then canceled it after inspecting its convincing but flawed disguise. He went to sleep aboard the ship and awoke in a familiar nightmare, where a speaker addressed him as a doctor who had been unconscious for over seventy-two hours.

  • Yang Yi activated the Ship Model, shrinking the Nightmare Star and disguising its flesh and blood as a wooden sailboat without changing its stats.
  • Yang Yi and Su Na inspected the transformed ship and found that its hold had changed while the Witch Laboratory remained intact, though some details could expose the disguise.
  • Yang Yi canceled the transformation and decided to make more realistic Ship Models using firsthand knowledge of Special Ships.
  • Yang Yi checked on Cui Xiya, arranged for Su Na, Cui Xiya, and Xiaoji to monitor the ship while he slept, and set a wake-up time.
  • A siren woke Yang Yi, and a speaker asked whether he needed a second treatment after being unconscious for over seventy-two hours; Yang Yi recognized that he had awakened from his nightmare.
