"Could you stop touching me?"
Uchiha Jin pushed Shisui away in disgust. Two men clinging to each other like that was unseemly.
He had no idea what his past self had been thinking.
He had actually grown closer and closer to this guy.
They should have cut ties long ago over their conflicting ideals. Their interactions afterward felt rather inexplicable.
He had actually allowed Shisui to come looking for him from time to time. Anyone who didn't know better might have thought he was all bark and no bite.
Still immersed in the joy of regaining someone he had lost, Shisui Uchiha heard the undisguised disgust in his best friend's voice. He gently released his arms from around Jin, slowly stepped back, and stared blankly at his friend.
Jin's attitude toward him had clearly changed.
Although disgust had slipped into his voice when he spoke to Shisui before, he had never dropped all pretense like this.
That resolute attitude reminded him of the night Jin had left...
"Jin..."
Shisui Uchiha opened his mouth, looking as though he wanted to say something but hesitated.
The Kotoamatsukami genjutsu he had planted in Jin seemed to have suddenly stopped working.
"Go play somewhere else."
Uchiha Jin waved impatiently. He had no time to waste chattering with Shisui right now.
His gaze swept over Deva Path Pain before settling on the collapsed ruins.
With that guy's physical constitution, a single punch shouldn't have killed him.
Loose stones and rubble tumbled down.
Amid the ruined walls, a dust-covered hand gripped the edge of a rock.
Obito Uchiha struggled out of the collapsed ruins. His black cloak patterned with red clouds was torn and damaged in several places, the fabric slashed by rubble and covered in dust and blood.
