At his words, Mikoto could not help rolling her eyes at Xuandou.
"Kushina is a mother. How could she possibly bring her child to live in an unmarried man's home?"
"What would people say if word got out?"
A trace of embarrassment appeared on Kushina's face as well.
Seeing this, Xuandou could only settle for the next best thing.
"Well... there are still a few vacant rooms in the clan's apartments."
"The apartments the clan built are much nicer than the ones the village provides. Kushina, you can live there if you'd like."
A flicker of interest crossed Kushina's eyes.
The Uchiha Clan was famous throughout Konoha for its generous benefits.
She had long heard people mention the clan's free apartment buildings in particular: clean, spacious, and comfortable.
Many people outside the clan envied them greatly.
Of course she would be willing if it meant giving Naruto a better environment to grow up in.
Seeing her begin to waver, Xuandou felt a surge of delight.
After all, once Kushina moved into the Indulgence Apartments, he could use the system to watch a live feed of her room whenever he wanted.
Just imagining those scenes was exciting!
Of course, he did not have the slightest dirty thought.
His original intention was simply to check whether little Naruto was having his "meals" on time every day.
So he immediately said:
"How about this? I'll take you to see the apartment first. If it suits you, you can decide then. If it doesn't, we'll think of something else."
Kushina hesitated for a moment before finally nodding.
"Then... all right."
And so, Xuandou and Mikoto brought Kushina to an apartment building in the center of the Uchiha Clan Compound.
Before them stood a five-story building with cream-colored exterior walls.
A row of neatly trimmed
