After dealing with Eleanor, Dorothea and Allen pushed the wheelchair back to the cabin together.
Dorothea had only given Eleanor her address in the Imperial Capital, deliberately leaving out her cabin number-she did not want to be disturbed.
They closed the cabin door, shutting out the noise in the corridor, and together lifted the frighteningly light, hunched figure from the wheelchair onto the narrow bunk.
"Go outside for now, Allen."
Allen nodded silently and gently closed the door behind him as he left.
With only the two of them left in the cabin, Dorothea looked down at the figure curled up on the bed and sighed deeply, her expression somewhat complicated. "Vanessa, how did you end up like this?"
The person in the wheelchair was none other than Vanessa.
At the very last moment in the Theater, Elliot had controlled her and sent her tumbling over the railing, landing right in front of Allen and Dorothea, who were there to receive her.
Dorothea had been badly injured herself at the time. She had forced herself to stay precisely so she could help Vanessa get away.
The instant Dorothea's spying was discovered, she had dismissed all her mirrors, even throwing away the monocle itself in the nick of time!
Almost the very next instant, the lens connected to her soul had exploded under an invisible force!
Had she not reacted so quickly, she would probably have lost an eye forever.
Even so, her monocle was bound to her soul, and the impact on her soul had still left her gravely injured.
Vanessa, however, was in an even more miserable state.
She had barely a breath left and had fallen into a deep coma. Unfortunately, there had been no way to treat her there, so Dorothea had packed her into a suitcase
