At the thought, Victoria could not help closing her eyes in pain.
She deserved this. The Great Being had devised such a far-reaching plan, coming here step by step from the Courtyard, each link fitting into the next. It must have taken immense effort.
Yet she had ruined it just like that!
But...
Victoria shifted her fingers slightly, and the spider silk forming the cocoon instantly loosened. Vanessa fell with a splat.
"Please punish me. Vanessa had no part in this. She only arrived after Lillian and I failed."
Victoria stepped forward, shielding Vanessa behind her.
Across from her, Elsa's tone immediately grew more serious. "Lillian? Where is she now?"
This Elsa was, of course, Elliot in disguise.
It really was inconvenient for him to appear as himself. Explaining would be too much trouble, and the Believers might even grow suspicious and monitor him. He could forget about using the Difference Engine then.
Looking like Elsa made things much easier. When everyone saw Elsa appear, they would only think the Great Being had descended through Elsa's corpse. They would never suspect he was a living person.
Speaking of which, he had no idea where the real Elsa had gone. She absolutely must not come over now, or things would get rather awkward.
Still, Elliot was confident he could fool the Believers, and even Victoria would not pose much of a problem. But with Lillian, that was harder to say.
In his view, Lillian's strength put her in a league of her own, beyond every other Supernatural person he had met.
The fact that the Difference Engine displayed [Destroying the Second Era] for her all day long was enough to show she was no minor figure.
So the one Elliot actually worried about most was Lillian!
If Lillian was here, he
