Wangchuan remained unmoved.
"The leader of the Eight Demon Sorcerers, lord of the Kan Position, the one with the densest dark chi."
Kali took a step forward.
Dark red flames spread beneath her feet, scorching the cracked concrete black.
"I don't believe it."
"I don't believe you Eight Demon Sorcerers can stay at the pinnacle of dark chi forever."
She raised both arms at once, and dark red light gathered overhead into an enormous, spinning disc wreathed in black flames.
The disc was three times larger than the last one.
Three times hotter.
Its aura of destruction was three times stronger.
"Let me see."
Kali's blood-red eyes lit up.
"What gives you that right?"
Sol tightened his grip on Mjolnir, lightning crackling across the hammerhead.
"She's gotten stronger." His voice was low. "More than twice as strong as before."
Loke had already taken three steps back.
"Well..."
His voice came from behind them.
"I just remembered I have something to do."
"Loke!" Sol roared without turning around.
"Just kidding." Loke stopped, though his feet still pointed toward the stairwell. "But if things go wrong, I'm definitely running."
Wangchuan ignored them.
He simply watched Kali, watched the figure holding up the black-flamed disc with both arms, watched the light of destruction flickering in those blood-red eyes.
He tilted his head.
"Attack."
That was all he said.
Kali's pupils abruptly contracted.
"You!"
Fury erupted in her voice.
"You're looking down on me!"
The dark red flames surged, and the black-flamed disc spun three times faster, so hot that even the air burned.
The concrete beneath Kali's feet began to melt, turning into a liquid like lava.
She compressed all that power into the disc.
Then she thrust it forward.
"Destruction!"
The instant the disc flew out, the entire building began to melt.
