The Five Kage looked at one another and began to think.
As the Supreme Commander of the Allied Shinobi Forces and one of their strongest fighters, Shihōin Naraku absolutely could not be sent to protect the Daimyo.
That would be a crime!
There were more important matters on the battlefield that needed Shihōin Naraku's attention!
So Naraku was the first to be ruled out, and Gaara was ruled out right after him.
As Commander-in-Chief of the allied forces, Gaara would head to the battlefield with the Allied Shinobi Forces at the earliest opportunity to support the fighting on all fronts.
It could even be said that Shihōin Naraku was their trump card, meant to deal with the enemy's top fighters, such as Madara Uchiha.
Naraku was their anchor, so he absolutely could not be deployed lightly!
Gaara, on the other hand, was the key commander who would actually lead the Allied Shinobi Forces into battle on the front lines.
His task was extremely important, and he absolutely could not spare the time to protect the Daimyo.
Of the three remaining Kage, Ōnoki had to command the Second Division and accompany Gaara to fight on the front lines.
His physical condition also would not allow him to divide his attention to protect the Daimyo.
That left only Dodai and Mei Terumi.
