Standing atop a treetop, Minato Namikaze gazed out at Konoha, his bewilderment deepening.
By now, he had discovered that the entire village seemed to have been rebuilt.
That was why the village's outer walls had disappeared, and all the buildings and houses looked so brand-new.
Having noticed these clues, Minato Namikaze immediately began considering who could have inflicted such enormous losses on Konoha.
Had the other shinobi villages joined forces to attack Konoha?
The thought had barely surfaced before Minato Namikaze dismissed it.
No matter how far Konoha had declined, it could not possibly have allowed other villages to wreak such extensive destruction on it.
Not even if the other major shinobi villages joined forces.
Minato Namikaze had complete confidence in Konoha!
With that possibility ruled out, the only remaining explanation was that the Nine-Tails had gone berserk.
If the Nine-Tails really had gone berserk, that meant Naruto Uzumaki had been in danger.
At that thought, Minato Namikaze's expression became exceptionally grave.
"The Nine-Tails shouldn't be very likely to go berserk. After all, I already used Sealing Jutsu to split him in two. With the Eight Trigrams Seal on top of that, breaking free of his restraints would be very difficult."
That said, Minato Namikaze could not guarantee that everything he had arranged back then would be foolproof.
"I'll find Naruto first. I hope nothing's happened to him!"
Looking at the peaceful yet bustling village before him, Minato Namikaze struggled to suppress his growing agitation.

Just as Minato Namikaze was about to enter Konoha, a streak of light flashed in his eyes, instantly putting him on alert.

Before the newcomer could appear, Minato Namikaze moved, vanishing from the spot in an instant.
