The show begins

Uchiha Yan had no desire to open his eyes and waved a hand dismissively.

"What else? Taking shelter! With a fox that huge out there, why wouldn't we hide in the safest place? Are we supposed to go out and get ourselves killed?"

"You should have gone to the shelter, not the Hokage Building. I now suspect you of being spies."

Uchiha Yan sat up and slowly opened his eyes, only to see a masked ninja pointing a kunai at him.

At the sight, Uchiha Yan couldn't help laughing.

"Come on, man! Look at the three of us. What about us looks like spies? Or have you seen a baby work as a spy before?"

"That's not for me to decide. When you meet Lord Danzo, you can explain it to him yourself."

At the name "Danzo," Uchiha Yan's brow furrowed slightly. Now he understood: this was a Root ninja.

Remembering the conflict between Danzo and the Uchiha in the story, Uchiha Yan felt a headache coming on.

At this point, no matter how young they were, Danzo would brand them spies simply because they were Uchiha.

I only just transmigrated, and there's already all this trouble. This won't stop until I'm dead.

Who was Danzo? Konoha's First Pot Kage. Could a little kid like me escape his clutches?

Luckily, nine years of compulsory education left me unable to abandon the little kids and run for my life, or this situation really would be difficult.

In the story, Danzo should be confronting Fugaku at the Uchiha Clan Compound right now. Meeting Danzo means meeting Fugaku.

With that thought, Uchiha Yan held out both hands. "All right! I surrender. Take us to Lord Danzo!"

"No!"

Uchiha Itachi cried out anxiously to stop him. "Sir, I'm Uchiha..."

Before he could finish, Uchiha Yan stepped forward and clapped a hand over Itachi's mouth, leaning close to his ear to whisper:

"Don't talk. Trust me!"

The Anbu ninja clearly thought nothing of the two little boys. Tucking one under each arm, he left the Hokage Building.

Wind whooshed past their ears. The Anbu ninja moved so fast that neither boy could open his eyes, and Sasuke, who had just fallen asleep, was crying too.

After an unknown amount of time, the Anbu ninja finally stopped and tossed the two boys onto the ground.

"Lord Danzo, these two sneaked into the Hokage Building. I suspect they intended to harm Lord Hokage."

"Is that so?"

Seeing two children, Danzo felt displeased. Are you out of your mind? Even two little children count as spies? With idiots like you to rely on, how am I ever supposed to become Hokage?

Then he spotted the Uchiha Clan crests on their backs, and his eyes instantly lit up.

Good, good, good! That's Root for you. The men I trained really are different! With you around, the Hokage position will be mine sooner or later.

"Ahem!"

Danzo gave a light cough to conceal the excitement on his face, replacing it with anger.

"Uchiha Fugaku, what are you trying to do? Don't tell me these two aren't members of your Uchiha Clan.

"First you used the Sharingan to control the Nine-Tails, then you tied down Root's forces here, and finally you even sent two children to the Hokage Building.

"And you still dare claim the Uchiha aren't preparing a rebellion?"

Uchiha Fugaku couldn't even be bothered to respond to Danzo. Instead, he stepped forward and helped Uchiha Yan and Itachi up.

When he saw Uchiha Itachi holding Sasuke, along with the wound on Itachi's forehead, Fugaku instantly activated his Sharingan.

Before anyone could react, he sent the Anbu ninja from earlier flying with a kick.

"What did you just do to Itachi?"

At those words, everyone present was dumbstruck. The Uchiha clansmen all turned their eyes toward Uchiha Yan and the other two.

"Aren't those Itachi and Yan? Wait, is that Sasuke in Itachi's arms?"

"If you don't want your Sharingan anymore, donate them. You can't even recognize Sasuke?"

"Those Root bastards! How dare they treat Itachi like that? They have no regard for the Uchiha!"

"Clan Head! Stop hesitating. Let's wipe out Root today!"

"That's right..."

Root's members were dumbfounded too. Of all the people you could have arrested, you grabbed the Uchiha Clan Head's two sons.

Uchiha Fugaku had sent his own two sons to be spies, one six years old and the other a baby? Who would believe that? Even framing someone required a decent excuse.

Danzo glared fiercely at the ninja from earlier. How stupid did someone have to be to arrest Fugaku's sons?

He wanted to force the Uchiha into rebelling, not force the Uchiha Clan into attacking Root alone.

If he really branded Itachi a spy, Uchiha Fugaku would probably attack him regardless of the consequences, dragging him down even if it meant dying himself.

Thank goodness! Thank goodness! There's still one more. Judging by those Uchiha's reactions just now, he should be an orphan!

And he's old enough, too. A silver lining!

At that thought, Danzo said gravely, "Itachi is young. He couldn't possibly be a spy.

"However, this Uchiha Yan must be a spy. Itachi may have been led astray by him."

At that, Danzo turned a cold gaze on Uchiha Yan.

"Uchiha Yan, speak. Who sent you to the Hokage Building? Don't force me to use Root's methods."

Uchiha Yan knew Danzo's objective all too well. He simply wanted to force the Uchiha into rebelling.

He had stopped Itachi from revealing his identity because he wanted to tie himself to Itachi, leaving Uchiha Fugaku no choice but to intervene and stop Danzo.

Another reason was that he wanted to avoid going to Root. If Itachi had given his name outright, the Root ninja might well have taken them straight to Root.

Now that Danzo had separated Itachi from the matter, Fugaku was once again caught in indecision.

Just as he had thought, when Danzo excluded Itachi, Fugaku said nothing to stop him, while the voices of the other Uchiha clansmen had no effect on Danzo at all.

"Uchiha Yan, do you think staying silent will save you? Root has plenty of ways to make you talk."

Facing the aggressive Danzo and Fugaku, who stood to one side playing dumb, Yan's lips curled slightly.

"That's right! Someone ordered me to go to the Hokage Building!"

"Who? Was it Uchiha Fugaku?"

Danzo's face brimmed with excitement. As long as Uchiha Yan said "Fugaku," he could immediately get the Third Hokage to order the Uchiha Clan's destruction.

Beside him, Uchiha Fugaku looked utterly stunned. What was this? Since when had the Uchiha produced someone so afraid of death?

Under Danzo's expectant gaze, Uchiha Yan slowly uttered the words:

"The Fourth Hokage!"

"Nonsense! The Fourth is fighting an intruder. How could he give you an order?"

"I ran into him on the way!"

Uchiha Yan lied without blinking. "He suddenly appeared and then disappeared again. He told me to go to the Third Hokage and ask for Anbu reinforcements.

"I'd only just arrived and hadn't even had time to speak before this senior brought me here.

"Boo-hoo... This was my first mission since becoming a ninja! If I fail and put Lord Hokage in danger, I'll be guilty!"

Uchiha Yan dropped to his knees, clenched his fists, and pounded the ground, his wails ringing throughout the Uchiha Clan Compound.

"Lord Fourth, I've failed you! Aaaah...

"Lord Fourth, please don't let anything happen to you! Otherwise, my conscience will torment me for the rest of my life!

"If you have to blame someone, blame me! Blame me for not knowing the Body Flicker Technique, blame me for not being able to fly, but please don't blame Lord Danzo. He's doing this for Konoha too.

"Boo-hoo... Lord Fourth, if you have to blame someone, blame the Uchiha Clan! They're the ones who disobeyed your orders and didn't go to help.

"Please don't blame Lord Danzo for stopping them here. He's doing this for Konoha too.

"It's all the Uchiha Clan's fault for not having the Mangekyō Sharingan. That's why they couldn't stop the Nine-Tails from rampaging.

"I'm guilty! The Uchiha are guilty! Lord Danzo, I confess! I submit to punishment! Kill me!

"Boo-hoo..."

Danzo opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but had no idea how to put it into words.

The boy kept confessing and submitting to punishment, even saying everything was the Uchiha's fault. What else could he say?

Surely he couldn't say this wasn't the Uchiha's fault? If it wasn't the Uchiha's fault, then it was his, Danzo's.

The boy had even worked out the Uchiha's crime for him: they had disobeyed deployment orders. That could also serve as indirect evidence that the Uchiha were preparing a rebellion.

But everyone knew perfectly well whether the Uchiha had obeyed their deployment orders.

With Minato Namikaze's brains, there was no way he would believe an accusation like that. No matter what anyone said, he would protect the Uchiha to the bitter end.
