• Xuan Zi complained that Zhang Lexuan had restricted his food and welcomed the chance to roast drumsticks during the hunt.
• A Shrek teacher warned that attacking the thirty-thousand-year Golden Hawksbill Turtle could attract powerful Soul Beasts, but Xuan Zi said its allies would be manageable and told the group to hunt without him.
• Xuan Zi said he would monitor the group with his Spiritual Power and step in if they faced danger, so the seven-ring Soul Douluos set out to attack the turtle's protectors.

• Xuan Zi attacked Zhongli Wu after accusing the Holy Spirit Cult of killing Shrek’s people, and Zhongli Wu knocked him down using power gained by burning Feng Ling’s life force.

• Yan Shaozhe stopped Wang Dong from killing the Auspicious Beast after his Bright Phoenix martial soul began rejecting him, then agreed to let her conduct Attribute Guidance.

• Yan Shaozhe met Cai Mei'er outside Shrek City and learned that none of the teachers or students from the expedition had returned, while Xuan Zi had come back alone.
