Hogg inherited the burden of restoring a once-illustrious Dragonblood Warrior clan whose bloodline had thinned over generations. Believing his own talent insufficient to awaken it, he initially feared that the responsibility would fall to his sons, Lin Yinuo and Linley 1 2.

Old wounds compounded his difficulties. A fight with a high-ranking magical beast had badly injured his left shoulder, while an obstructed junction in his lung meridian disrupted his Battle Qi circulation. Rediscovering the Clan’s Legacy

Lin Yinuo used maple leaves resembling dragon scales and remarks about blood and protection to rekindle Hogg’s interest in the ancestral legacy. Hogg reopened the abandoned library and began searching its records, balancing town administration and his sons’ training during the day with research by candlelight at night 4 5.

After witnessing Lin Yinuo’s supreme affinity for all elements, Hogg ordered him to keep it secret and decided that the Ernst Institute should educate him. Hogg later discovered ancestral notes mentioning “bloodline resonance” and an “ancestral land core.” With Lin Yinuo’s guidance, he located a responding stone slab beneath the library floor and pried it open, uncovering the entrance to the clan’s long-lost hidden chamber 16.

Recovery and Clan Revival

Inside the chamber, Hogg found the first part of the Dragonblood Secret Canon and a jade bottle containing dragon blood essence. He immediately began cultivating with them while his sons stood guard. His recovery gave the clan a powerful protector and allowed him to turn from searching for its lost inheritance to rebuilding its influence 17 18.

He combines ambition with caution. He tries to conceal Lin Yinuo’s extraordinary talent, recognizes the danger behind powerful factions’ interest in the Magic Cannon, and eventually treats his eldest son as an equal partner in decisions about the clan’s future 5 18 21.
