Magic and Cultivation

- Ranked cultivation: Warriors and mages possess numbered ranks, while Saints and Deities form the continent’s highest circles of power. Ernst’s preliminary Necropolis selection requires candidates to be under thirty and at least seventh rank 18 25 26.
- Bloodline inheritance: The Baruch Clan’s Dragonblood Warrior heritage can be cultivated through bloodline guidance, physical tempering, and Dragonblood Battle Qi 15 24.
- Divine resources: The Necropolis contains divine sparks, divine artifacts, and the collections of fallen Deities, making access a major concern for the continent’s strongest factions 24.
Commerce and Intelligence
- Established trade networks: Continental commercial history records the rise and decline of major chambers of commerce over several centuries, including their leading figures and business models 8.
- Resource trade: Mineral output, ore transport, climate, and interference from local nobles affect commercial planning. Lin Yinuo uses geographical and climatological knowledge to guide Ailina’s early shipments 8 9.
- Shadow Commerce Guild: Lin Yinuo and Ailina develop a combined commercial and intelligence network, using mercenaries and wanderers as potential information sources 9 30.
- Military cooperation: Before leaving, Lin Yinuo authorizes selective cooperation with the O’Brien military using non-core Type II Magic Cannon designs, while reserving the core technology and energy arrays 30.

History
Revival of the Baruch Clan
Once renowned as the continent’s most illustrious Dragonblood Warrior clan, the Baruch Clan declines as its bloodline thins. Its recovery begins with the brothers’ exceptional magical talent and the rediscovery of an ancestral chamber containing the Dragonblood Secret Canon and dragon blood essence. Hogg awakens his bloodline, reaches the eighth level, and begins rebuilding the clan’s defenses and political connections 2 6 16 17 18.
Border War and the Magic Cannon
The approaching O’Brien–Luo’ao war gives Lin Yinuo an opportunity to deploy his secretly manufactured Magic Cannons. At Third Watchfort, five cannons destroy siege equipment and disrupt the attacking army, forcing a retreat. His victory and imperial title bring the Baruch name back to the attention of the continent’s major powers, while the weapons attract imperial, religious, and alchemical interest 19 20 21.
Necropolis Expedition and Departure
The Necropolis’s opening draws Saints and hidden Deities from across the continent. The expedition costs its highest ranks several Saints, but some participants obtain divine sparks, creating the prospect of new Deities and a future shift in the balance of power. O’Brien prestige rises through Lin Yinuo’s achievements and the deterrent effect of the Magic Cannons, though its conflict with Luo’ao remains unresolved 26 29.
After returning, Lin Yinuo designates the continent as his secure rear base and future source of talent. He leaves clan affairs to Hogg, commercial and intelligence operations to Ailina, and further protection and cultivation guidance to Linley. He also supplies a component for attempted cross-plane communication before departing for the Infernal Realm 29 30.
