Slaying a Highgod, Part Two

After withdrawing his Amethyst Space, Lei Jialie finally no longer had to divide his attention to control more than a hundred Midgods.

He attacked Aosijiade directly with his full strength. His already swift figure shot even faster toward the fiery-red figure at the front of the crowd after Zijing controlled the repulsive force to give him another burst of speed.

Just before his attack reached Aosijiade, a pair of amethyst gauntlets covered his fists. Apart from not having transformed, Lei Jialie was now essentially using his full strength.

His amethyst-covered fist slammed into Aosijiade's fist before the latter had fully swung it. Aosijiade flew backward, punched straight into the crowd of immobilized Midgods on his own side.

The Divine Sparks of the two Midgods at the very front were knocked straight out of them by the collision with Aosijiade, a testament to the power contained in Lei Jialie's punch.

His divine body is so strong. That punch of mine barely injured him! Lei Jialie was secretly shocked.

Sensing how difficult this opponent was to deal with only strengthened his determination to kill him.

After steadying himself, Aosijiade also understood that protecting the remaining Midgods was no longer realistic. Moreover, if one Highgod could come, another could come too. Who knew how many Highgods this side had in total?

Preparing to retreat for now and return later to settle the score, Aosijiade began to transform.

His already towering figure grew from over five meters tall to over ten meters. A layer of flowing lava covered his body, possessing extraordinary defensive power as well as some offensive power.

Already taking this very seriously, Lei Jialie roughly understood his opponent's intentions when he saw him transform. He either wanted to flee or fight for his life. Naturally, Lei Jialie could no longer hold anything back, and a layer of Amethyst Armor immediately covered his entire body.

"You can transform too? Haha, then let's see who's stronger, you or me, a Volcano Giant!" Watching Lei Jialie transform as well, Aosijiade's eyes grew even more savage.

No longer bothering with the Midgods behind him, Aosijiade's aura surged even more powerfully. He actually forced his way through Zijing's innate divine ability and attacked Lei Jialie.

"Red Flame Fury!" Carrying the scorching heat of flames, his fist erupted with terrifying power and smashed straight toward Lei Jialie.

"Earth Void!" Lei Jialie likewise threw a punch containing earth-element power and profound mysteries such as Gravity Space, exchanging punches head-on with Aosijiade.

While Lei Jialie kept Aosijiade occupied, Zijing began clearing out the immobilized Midgods within the Amethyst Space. A longsword formed from the Destruction Rule slashed through the divine bodies of the Midgods who could not move.

After killing all the Midgods and collecting their Divine Sparks, divine artifacts, spatial rings, and other items, Zijing looked toward the battlefield where Lei Jialie and Aosijiade fought, then charged over without further hesitation.

While Zijing had been dealing with the Midgods, Lei Jialie had already been injured in his repeated clashes with Aosijiade. He was no match for this man in a head-on confrontation. In addition, Zijing's innate divine ability was limited by her own strength, making its control weaker than Lei Jialie's Amethyst Space.

This allowed Aosijiade to force his way through the restraint and clash with Lei Jialie. The Volcano Giant's innate divine ability was also exceptionally formidable, combining offense and defense. After Lei Jialie broke through the lava's defenses, lava would spray out from beneath the armor.

Lei Jialie had just suffered because of this. He had finally broken through its defenses with an all-out strike and dodged Aosijiade's punch with his speed, only to be injured by the armor formed by his innate divine ability.

It had only been a minor injury, but Aosijiade seized the opportunity to unleash a powerful punch into his body, shattering his Amethyst Armor outright. Blood flowed continuously from the corner of his mouth.

"Hehe, you think you can kill me with that strength? Hahaha, just you wait! The next time I come will be the day I raze your Alliance!" Aosijiade clamored arrogantly.

"Ptooey!"

Lei Jialie spat out the blood in his mouth. The arrogance he had developed after becoming a Highgod was now completely gone. Before, he had only felt that even if he was not the strongest, no one could defeat him.

He had never expected to struggle this much against a single Highgod casually dispatched by the Demon Alliance.

That man's punch had indeed knocked some sense into him. His faction needed to develop, and his own strength needed to improve as well. Otherwise, the enemy's top combatants would crush them.

"Are you all right, Lei Jialie?" Zijing looked at him with a worried expression.

"I'm fine. It's just that we'll have to use our trump card this time. Otherwise, it really won't be easy to take him down. His physical attacks and physical defenses are both too strong. We can only kill him with a soul attack!" Lei Jialie's eyes were filled with confidence in their trump card.

A purple light denser and brighter than any before instantly drew Aosijiade into this new Amethyst Space.

Even more terrifying forces of attraction and repulsion pressed down on Aosijiade. The lava armor on his body visibly crumbled beneath the repulsive force.

"Whoosh... whoosh..."

An incredibly eerie sound of wind rose within the space, assailing the soul.

Already struggling to move under the gravity that had suddenly grown many times stronger, Aosijiade could only maintain his defenses with all his strength to guard against a surprise attack.

Before he could control his divine power to stop his lava armor from crumbling, he heard that eerie sound of wind.

The eerie wind left Aosijiade's head reeling in waves of extreme pain.

He wanted to fly beyond the Amethyst Space's range, but repulsive forces from every direction pressed him in place. Under the soul attack carried by the eerie wind, his thoughts grew increasingly sluggish. He did not even know when all the lava armor on his body had completely crumbled away.

At this point, Aosijiade was effectively standing defenseless before the Zijing Couple. Lei Jialie could kill him with a mere wave of his hand.

A thoughtful look flashed through Lei Jialie's eyes. In the end, he still raised his hand and punched toward Aosijiade's head.

His head exploded, and a red fire-element Highgod Divine Spark flew out. Lei Jialie put it into his spatial ring.

After doing all this, the two stopped their innate divine ability at the same time, and the purple light disappeared.

Lei Jialie and his wife appeared before the other members of the Amethyst Alliance as well. Every Midgod present had a fervent look in their eyes. Their two leaders had slain a Highgod.

In this period when Highgods were scarce, every Highgod was an overlord who dominated a region.

This further strengthened their conviction to follow Lei Jialie and his wife. After all, another Highgod Divine Spark in the Alliance meant another Highgod would emerge. Naturally, the Midgods became even more loyal.

After ordering everyone to return to the Alliance, Lei Jialie took the lead, flying toward the Amethyst Mountains.

Although the two had slain a Highgod in a flash, that was because they had used the Fusion Innate Divine Ability of the only two Amethyst Sacred Beasts in existence.

This divine ability was tremendously powerful, but its consumption was also enormous. In just that brief interval, the two had nearly exhausted all their divine power. They urgently needed to return to the Amethyst Mountains and safely replenish their divine power, just in case.

If Rhodes had been there, he would certainly have said, "Divine ability fusion-truly terrifying!"
