After so long apart, everyone gathered to share their experiences. Kahn and Toph first told the others what had happened in Omashu during that time. To everyone's surprise, each incident Kahn described was more explosive than the last!
"Azula infiltrated the Royal Palace?!"
"The Dai Li rebelled again?!"
"You captured Azula?!"
"The other two girls joined our side?!"
"Zuko even started dating one of them?!"
As Kahn spoke, cries of surprise rose one after another. No one had imagined so many heart-stopping events could have happened while they were away.
"Thank goodness you stopped their plot. Otherwise, it's hard to imagine how terrifying things would have become."
After hearing the story, Katara still looked shaken. She could imagine how dangerous it would have been to let Azula remain hidden in the Royal Palace.
"They disguised themselves as Kyoshi Warriors to infiltrate the Royal Palace?! Then what happened to the real Kyoshi Warriors?!"
After hearing this, Sokka asked anxiously:
"Where did Suki and the others go?!"
The Kyoshi Warriors were an elite squad left behind by Kyoshi, the Avatar from two incarnations ago, and every member was exceptionally skilled. On their way to the Northern Water Tribe, the group had passed through Kyoshi Island and met the Kyoshi Warriors. Sokka had even developed feelings that went beyond friendship with Suki, their current leader.
Mai said:
"I'm sorry. I think they've probably already been sent to a prison in the Fire Nation."
"No!"
Sokka struggled to accept that Suki had been imprisoned. He slammed his fist against the table, then stood up angrily and said:
"Of course you should be sorry! You were our enemies, yet you get to sit here while Suki's locked up in your prison!"
With that, he stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
