The members of the White Lotus Society and Team Avatar were in the square inside Omashu's Royal Palace, but they had arrived in a very different way from what they had expected.
The leading members of the White Lotus Society, including Zuko, Iroh, and Kupa, along with the members of Team Avatar, Aang among them, were all bound tightly in heavy, thick iron chains and pinned to the ground, unable to move at all.
Not only that, but every chi point in their bodies had been blocked, ensuring that, aside from still being able to speak, they were no different from cripples.
Their operation had failed. They had suffered an utter defeat.
In a sudden attack, hundreds upon thousands of bombs had rained down on their heads, utterly destroying them while they were completely unprepared.
Their entire force had been wiped out, with devastating casualties.
They looked utterly bedraggled now, their faces covered in dust, their hair disheveled. Every one of them bore injuries of varying severity, their clothes plastered against bleeding wounds and stained dark brown.
