"Here's the thing."
Korra secretively pulled Azula aside. Only after making sure no one else could hear their conversation did she begin, fidgeting:
"Recently, I met a guy."
It turned out that what Korra wanted to ask Azula about was romance.
She had recently developed a crush on a boy: the captain of her current team, the Fire Ferrets, a young Firebender named Mako.
As it happened, Azula and Kahn had watched the Fire Ferrets compete in person before. Once Korra mentioned him, Azula recalled what he looked like. He could not compare to Kahn, but he was not bad.
The problem troubling Korra now was that, although she liked Mako, Mako did not seem to feel anything for her.
Mako and his younger brother Bolin had lost their parents as children. The brothers had depended on each other to survive, wandering and struggling to make a living-a stark contrast to her upbringing in a happy family and comfortable circumstances, even if she had not had much freedom.
On top of that, she was rather thoughtless, so she sometimes accidentally said things that offended the brothers, making the atmosphere awkward, never mind making any progress.
"So, what do you think I should do now?"
Korra asked Azula for advice.
Naturally, she had chosen to ask Azula because of Azula's experience in romance, hoping she would share some advice as someone who had been through it.
"I see..."
After hearing her out, Azula's expression turned a little strange, but she still feigned composure and pretended to think.
Never in her wildest dreams had she imagined that one day she would be giving someone else romantic advice. Although she liked to compete and come out on top in everything she did, she still had a little self-awareness when it came to romance.
