Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Eternal life and absolute sovereignty within the shop 4 Granted by the system upon his arrival, approximately half a month before this chapter. Lin Yue consequently sees no need to cultivate. No conventional Soul Master rank is established for his real body.
  • Arena levels are simulated match settings, not cultivation breakthroughs. His documented battles include level-90 and rank-30 matches, with Martial Souls and Soul Skills selected for each encounter 24 35 36.

Background / History

Before transmigrating, Lin Yue had read Douluo Continent and numerous works of fan fiction based on it. He unexpectedly awoke in its world, bound to a system and running a shop whose game allowed customers to experience a heavily modified parallel Douluo Continent 3.

His recollection of the original story is incomplete; he admits internally that he has forgotten much of it. His familiarity with fan fiction and the system’s information support his recognition of important figures and his knowledge of events beyond the shop 8 9.

Appearance

  • Youthful appearance: Visitors expecting an ancient expert are surprised to find a young man 7 21 28.
  • Smooth skin and calm eyes: Yu Xiaogang notes both while assessing him after Zhao Wuji’s defeat 7.
  • No detectable Soul Power fluctuations: Meng Shu, Chao Tianxiang, and Yu Xiaogang initially find no outward indication of his strength 4 7.

Personality

Lin Yue is a self-described homebody who prefers leisure to cultivation. He watches shows, follows AI short dramas, drinks cola, and frequently sleeps behind the counter. The system sometimes wakes him with a faint electrical jolt when customers or disputes require his attention 4 23 35.

He is patient with sincere questions and willing to help customers personally. He feeds Zhu Zhuqing without charge, offers her employment, notices Jiang Yu’s concealed unhappiness, and arranges assistance for Jiang Yu’s return home. His generosity also extends to sharing additional payments with his employees 6 14 33 37.

His treatment of aggressors is markedly harsher. He mocks Dai Mubai and Yu Xiaogang, forces Zhao Wuji to kneel, and permanently strips Tang Hao of his titled rank. Against Bibi Dong, he deliberately invokes her traumatic past to humiliate and intimidate her before demanding an apology 6 7 12 28.

Despite these confrontations, he does not permanently exclude the Shrek group from doing business. He later accepts payment for members who want to obtain additional Martial Souls 37.

Abilities & Skills

Absolute Sovereignty Within the Shop

The system establishes Lin Yue as the shop’s absolute sovereign, with authority described as sufficient to make even a visiting deity kneel 4.

  • Attack nullification: Dai Mubai’s White Tiger Fierce Light Wave disperses before touching him. Bibi Dong’s attacks from outside likewise vanish before reaching the shop 6 12.
  • Compulsory commands: He forces Zhao Wuji to kneel and freezes Tang Hao mid-attack with a spoken command 7 28.
  • Soul Power and Martial Soul suppression: He prevents Bibi Dong from accessing either while inside 11 12.
  • Permanent cultivation reduction: He reduces Tang Hao to level eighty-nine, removing his Titled Douluo standing 28.
  • Location restriction: This sovereignty is explicitly tied to the shop. Bibi Dong regains her Martial Soul connection after moving roughly thirty paces beyond its entrance 4 12.

System Access and Administration

Lin Yue uses the system to obtain information, manage facilities, and distribute resources 4 12 16.

  • Information access: Receives parallel-world background information, observes customers’ experiences, and obtains updates on outside events 4 6 9.
  • Arrival-point control: Secretly places Yue Guan and Gui Mei near the Martial Soul Sect rather than leaving their game-world arrival location random 5.
  • Inventory access: Produces scrolls, Divine Rings, a cookbook, and snacks from system storage 12 16 31.
  • Prize-odds adjustment: Secretly doubles the Prize Machine’s overall odds while helping Jiang Yu pursue a reward capable of addressing his immediate predicament 33.
  • Item appraisal and buyback: Uses the system to value Jiang Yu’s Class Four offensive Soul Tool at 1,385 Gold Soul Coins and purchases it for that amount 32.

Knowledge of Characters and Possible Futures

His reading history and system access give him information unavailable to ordinary inhabitants of the continent 3 8 9.

  • Recognizes Zhu Zhuqing, the Peerless Dragon Snake family, Spirit Hall’s senior figures, and Dugu Bo on sight 3 4 21.
  • Reveals Tang San’s effective age as being in his early forties 9.
  • Explains how parallel counterparts can share names and appearances while remaining independent people with different histories and fates 4.
  • Tells Dugu Bo about the exploitation and miserable ending awaiting him in the course of events he has now avoided 22.
  • His knowledge is not presented as perfect recall; he acknowledges forgetting much of the original story 8.

Arena Combat and Build Selection

Lin Yue uses the Arena to demonstrate unconventional Martial Soul builds and test competing theories under controlled conditions. Its preparation phase allows participants to select Martial Souls and Soul Skills before combat 24 35 36.

  • Battles can simulate Soul Masters from level ten to level ninety 35.
  • His Arena selections do not establish that he permanently possesses those Martial Souls outside the simulation 24 35 36.
  • He favors combinations whose defensive, offensive, and recovery effects reinforce one another 25 29 35 36.

Blue Silver Emperor Build

In his level-90 demonstration against Dugu Bo, Lin Yue uses the Blue Silver Emperor as a power-attack Martial Soul 24 25.

  • Blue Silver Armor: Forms hardened, close-fitting armor from interwoven vines 24.
  • Blue Silver Overlord Spear: Condenses a spear for melee combat; he later creates nearly a hundred for a ranged barrage 24 25.
  • Blue Silver True Body: Doubles the power of his Blue Silver Soul Skills while halving their Soul Power consumption 25.
  • Blue Silver Puppet: Produces the vine-armored giant Tianshu and an Azure Dragon to counter Dugu Bo’s poison attack 25.
  • Demonstrated limitation: Dugu Bo’s experienced spearwork initially forces him onto the defensive. Lin Yue ultimately wins after Dugu Bo exhausts his Soul Power 25.

Ghost Shadow Build

Against Qian Daoliu, Lin Yue selects a ghost shadow Martial Soul centered on imitation, numbers, and endurance 29.

  • First Soul Skill — Mimicry: Creates a solid imitation of himself or Qian Daoliu and reproduces demonstrated attacks, including Angel Feather Blade and Heavenly Feather Falling Blades 29.
  • Second Soul Skill — Shadow Clone: Generates numerous shadows that can be transformed through Mimicry, allowing massed copied attacks 29.
  • Fifth and ninth Soul Skills: Described as increasing the power of copied Soul Skills 29.
  • Sixth and eighth Soul Skills: Described as recovery abilities 29.
  • Qian Daoliu concedes after Lin Yue reveals these remaining enhancement and recovery options 29.

Rank-30 Blue Silver Grass Build

Lin Yue defeats Tang San using ordinary Blue Silver Grass rather than the Blue Silver Emperor 35.

  • First Soul Skill — Blue Silver Power Gathering: Greatly increases physical strength and slightly improves recovery 35.
  • Second Soul Skill — Endless Circulation: For one minute, his summoned Blue Silver Grass continuously repairs itself; contact with his body also provides gradual healing 35.
  • Third Soul Skill — Blue Silver Armor: A weaker version of the armor used against Dugu Bo, sufficient to withstand Tang San’s restraints when combined with the other two skills 35.
  • He tears free of Tang San’s bindings and poisonous web, prompting Tang San to concede 35.

Luo Sanpao “Charging Fortress” Build

When Yu Xiaogang demands a rank-30 match restricted to Luo Sanpao, Lin Yue combines protection, enlargement, and charging attacks 36.

  • First Soul Skill — Headlong Charge: A fast, low-consumption charge that cannot change direction once launched 36.
  • Second Soul Skill — Scale Armor Barrier: Covers Luo Sanpao in protective dragon scales 36.
  • Third Soul Skill — Gigantification: Greatly increases size, toughness, strength, and defense for approximately three minutes 36.
  • The build withstands Yu Xiaogang’s Thunder Cannon and Lie Yan Breath, then overwhelms him through repeated charges 36.
  • An ongoing charge retains its momentum even after Lin Yue removes the enhancements following Yu Xiaogang’s concession 37.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Game Pods: Provide access to the parallel world. Chosen Martial Souls, cultivated Soul Power, and acquired Soul Rings synchronize with customers’ real bodies upon exit 9.
  • Martial Soul Lucky Draw Machine / Prize Machine: Dispenses rewards usable in both worlds, including Soul Ring coupons, recovery items, Battle Armor, Martial Soul limit-breaking items, and Divine Rings 9 15 23 33.
  • Retrieval Box: Uses fingerprint identification to let customers withdraw resources obtained in the parallel world 13.
  • Martial Soul Limit-Breaking Scrolls: Reopen Martial Soul selection and allow additional Martial Souls without a stated numerical upper limit 10 16.
  • Divine Rings: Grant access to divine power without necessarily increasing the recipient’s Soul Master level. Lin Yue supplies them to employees and later awards one to Feng Xiaotian 16 33.
  • Specialty Cookbook: A system-provided guide assigned to Yue Guan and Gui Mei for the shop’s meal service 16.
  • Central Display Screen: Broadcasts Arena matches to spectators inside the shop 24.

Relationships

  • Zhu Zhuqing — Employee and recipient of his support. He shelters and feeds her, challenges her reliance on Dai Mubai, and supplies the scroll and Divine Ring that turn her door Martial Soul into a continent-wide transportation tool 4 6 8 12 16.
  • Yue Guan and Gui Mei — Recruited from Spirit Hall. Lin Yue forgives their attempt to test his strength through Bibi Dong’s visit, equips them with additional Martial Souls and Divine Rings, and places them in charge of cooking 5 12 16.
  • Dugu Bo — Customer and Arena opponent. Lin Yue reveals information about his avoided future, defeats him in a demonstration match, and protects him and Dugu Yan from Tang Hao’s attempted seizure of their gains 22 25 28.
  • Dugu Yan — Customer and promotional collaborator. Her proposal to advertise through public Soul Fighting Arena matches becomes the shop’s new outreach strategy 23 32.
  • Meng Shu, Chao Tianxiang, and Meng Yiran — Initially skeptical visitors who become returning customers after losing Meng Yiran’s intended Soul Ring to Shrek. Lin Yue introduces them to the Prize Machine and parallel world 4 9 10 13.
  • Ning Fengzhi — Customer who gives Lin Yue half his gold coins in gratitude; Lin Yue distributes the payment to his three employees 14.
  • Qian Daoliu — Customer and defeated Arena challenger. He praises Lin Yue’s ingenuity and approves of Yue Guan and Gui Mei’s decision to work for him 29.
  • Jiang Yu — Customer and temporary employee from the Sun Moon Continent. Lin Yue accepts his Soul Tool as payment, helps him obtain access to divine power, and promises transportation home through Zhu Zhuqing 32 33.
  • Feng Xiaotian — First-place finisher in the Arena’s ten-day cycle. Lin Yue honors his choice of a Divine Ring and explains how to attach it to his Martial Soul 33 34.
  • Bibi Dong — Hostile visitor whose bid for exclusive control is rejected. Lin Yue suppresses her abilities and forces an apology after she attacks the shop 11 12.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Repeated ideological and personal opponent. Lin Yue challenges his authority as a theorist and defeats both his disciple and him in controlled Arena matches 7 35 36 37.
  • Tang Hao — Aggressor punished with permanent reduction to level eighty-nine after trying to seize Dugu Yan’s opportunities 28.
