Background / History
Qian Renxue’s Disappearance
Qian Daoliu and Qian Xunji devised Qian Renxue’s infiltration of the Heaven Dou imperial family. When she disappeared for two days after being summoned to the Holy Demon Continent, the Worship Hall mobilized all seven enshrined to find her. Her safety eclipsed the mission, and Qian Daoliu threatened Bibi Dong when she mocked his inability to locate his granddaughter 4 5.
Qian Renxue’s return immediately dispelled his grief and killing intent. Recognizing the danger of leaving her alone in the empire, he took her back to Spirit City and entrusted the remaining situation to Golden Crocodile Douluo. Golden Crocodile then replaced the infiltration scheme with a coup and installed Xue Beng as a puppet emperor 5.
Investigating Cross-World Travel
Although worried about the Holy Demon Continent’s dangers, Qian Daoliu recognized that cultivating there had improved Qian Renxue’s Soul Power. He reluctantly allowed her to continue visiting, despite resenting Jiang Li’s influence over her 5.
When Qian Renxue attempted to reverse-summon Jiang Li, Qian Daoliu interrupted the process. He concluded that Jiang Li lacked sufficient protection to survive the passage and the coordinates needed to return home. He then supplied a ten-thousand-year spirit medicine for Qian Renxue to take to Jiang Li as a gift 7.
Reconsidering the Holy Demon Continent
Qian Renxue’s prolonged absence left Qian Daoliu unable to contact or observe her, making him unusually irritable toward the other worshippers. He nevertheless refused to leave the Angel Temple to travel, citing his duty as its guardian 19.
Her safe return brought evidence of stronger Soul Power, improved Martial Soul attributes, foreign equipment, forging methods, skills, and pills. After witnessing her purification of a Soul Master with an evil-attributed Martial Soul, Qian Daoliu became more receptive to her account of the Light Angel God. He agreed not to obstruct further visits, provided she returned periodically and remained safe 20.
He theorized, rather than established, that the Light Angel God and the Angel God he worshipped were the same deity. He further suspected that Qian Renxue’s journey was divinely guided and that helping humanity defeat the Demon Race might be part of her path to godhood 20.
Securing the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well
Qian Renxue entrusted him with Ancient Elves Clan writing describing a Teleportation Array, along with Jiang Li’s information about divine inheritances and Immortal Herbs. The possibility of personally reaching the Holy Demon Continent interested Qian Daoliu chiefly because it would let him help his granddaughter; he held little hope of advancing beyond the fate attached to his position as Great Enshrined 21.
After obtaining Yue Guan’s herb research, he led Qian Renxue, Qian Jun, and Jiang Mo into the Sunset Mountains. The contracted Dragon Souls of the latter two reacted fearfully near the hidden well, prompting a more meticulous search. Qian Daoliu discovered an area that blocked his spiritual perception, entered alone, and summoned the others only after confirming it was safe 21.
He assigned Qian Jun and Jiang Mo to guard the site and recommended it as a cultivation ground for other worshippers. Though displeased by Qian Renxue’s eagerness to entrust the movable herbs to Jiang Li, he accepted that Jiang Li’s pill refinement could make better use of them. He also urged her to merge the Infernal Delicate Apricot into her own Martial Soul rather than leave it behind 22.
Teleportation Array and Survival
After learning that Qian Renxue had hurried back to Jiang Li without meeting him, Qian Daoliu concluded that her feelings were deeper than she admitted. He ordered his subordinates to accelerate their deciphering of the Elf Clan’s writing and later began constructing a Teleportation Array 41 43.
Qian Renxue ultimately attained godhood without requiring his complete sacrifice. His soul survived, and a new body was formed for him on the Holy Demon Continent, where he obtained the Light Angel God’s inheritance 43.
Personality
Qian Daoliu is normally restrained and is described as having high moral standards, but fear for Qian Renxue can overwhelm that restraint. Her disappearance brings out murderous hostility, while her return instantly restores his gentleness. When he cannot contact her across worlds, his anxiety manifests as repeated criticism of the other worshippers 4 5 19.
His devotion to the Angel God shapes both his duties and his interpretation of new discoveries. He initially struggles to accept the existence of another Angel God, then reconciles the evidence with his faith by proposing that both continents worship the same deity. Light Feather Douluo also identifies rigidity and decisiveness in matters of life and death as characteristic traits of Qian Daoliu 19 20 40.
His dislike of Jiang Li does not prevent practical cooperation. He acknowledges Jiang Li’s talent after inspecting the Light Spirit-Nurturing Pill and permits him to study the Immortal Herbs, despite suspecting that the young man has won his granddaughter’s heart 20 22.
Abilities & Skills
Spiritual Perception
Qian Daoliu possesses spiritual power among the strongest on the contemporary Douluo Continent 21.
- Bo Saixi’s spiritual power slightly surpasses his, while Tang Hao’s is inferior 21.
- He detects changes in Qian Renxue’s Martial Soul attributes as well as the stability of her increased Soul Power 20.
- The hidden Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well initially escapes his perception; a careful, inch-by-inch search reveals the obstruction 21.
Spatial Sealing
He can circulate Soul Power to seal off a small pocket of space 21.
- Uses the seal before Qian Renxue discloses the Teleportation Array and other sensitive information.
- Golden Crocodile Douluo judges the seal unstable and reinforces it with another layer 21.
Cross-World Summoning Analysis
He identifies the immediate dangers of Jiang Li’s attempted passage between continents 7.
- Determines that forcing the summoning could cause Jiang Li’s body to collapse.
- Explains that reaching the Douluo Continent would not guarantee a return journey without corresponding coordinates.
- Attributes Qian Renxue’s safe travel to the other continent’s recognition of her, her native connection to Douluo, and the Angel Set’s interconnected pieces. The narration describes this explanation as largely correct but incomplete 7.
Knowledge of Divine Inheritances
He recognizes several possible inheritance sites from Jiang Li’s information 21.
- Confirms the Angel God’s inheritance in Spirit City and the Sea God’s inheritance on Sea God Island.
- Identifies Slaughter City as the likely location associated with two gods.
