Background and History

Jiang Li has lived two lives and retains knowledge of the worlds’ originally expected events. His previous-life experience gives him unusually strong mental faculties, although he does not possess a photographic memory. At Knight Sacred Mountain, he recognizes Long Haochen’s newly contracted Haoyue as Austin Griffin, the God of Damnation 1.

His original innate internal spiritual power of three severely limits his cultivation prospects. Under Ye Hua’s instruction, he compensates with physical conditioning, practical combat, and research. He begins killing demons even before awakening internal spiritual power. After discovering his secret outings, Ye Hua scolds him but eventually follows him covertly to provide protection 5 27 32.

Before Long Haochen becomes Ye Hua’s disciple, Jiang Li regards his teacher as his only family in this world. He also frequently spars with Li Xin; despite her superior cultivation at the time, she never wins a match against him 14 32.

Jiang Li purchases a two-story home in Haoyue City with a courtyard workshop and a large underground cultivation chamber. He uses it for forging, medicinal research, training, and storing valuables, then sells it before leaving for the Demon Hunt Squad Selection Tournament 3 30.

Personality

Jiang Li is intensely disciplined, treating both cultivation and research as opportunities to improve. Even while traveling, he studies Ancient Elven writing and exercises his mental power rather than remaining idle. His fixation on strength comes partly from witnessing the Demon Race kill people who lacked the power to protect themselves 6 13.

He is also calculating. His early generosity toward Qian Renxue is intended to build trust and improve his own aptitude, and he subtly guides her toward proposals that benefit him. When she detects his motive for suggesting a Retainer Knight Contract, however, he admits it rather than denying it 3 7 8 11.

His loyalty is personal rather than based on reputation: he repays kindness regardless of whether others consider the benefactor good or evil. Qian Renxue’s voluntary Blood Pact changes his attitude toward her from strategic cooperation to heartfelt closeness. He later trusts her enough to exhaust himself completely during training, something he previously dared do only near Ye Hua 16 18.

Beneath his caution lies a genuine appetite for danger. Jiang Li enjoys testing his limits against death rather than viewing his demon-hunting life solely as a hardship. He nevertheless remains guarded around most people and is slow to recognize Qian Renxue’s romantic attachment 14 24 32.

Contracting Qian Renxue

After failing to gain a mount’s recognition at Knight Sacred Mountain, Jiang Li uses its summoning array. He reaches a lonely, light-bearing presence and offers companionship, forming an Equal Contract just before exhausting his strength. The summoned figure introduces herself as Xue Qinghe, but Jiang Li recognizes Qian Renxue and avoids exposing her disguise 1 2.

Her arrival gives him a route beyond his original aptitude. An attempted soul-bone fusion fails because the two worlds’ power systems conflict, while an attempted journey to Douluo proves unsafe. Jiang Li instead helps her enter the knight cultivation system and proposes a Retainer Knight Contract 6 7 8 11.

Shared Cultivation and Cross-World Exchange

Jiang Li takes Qian Renxue demon hunting to correct her inefficient fighting style. Their two-and-a-half-month expedition improves their cultivation, gathers valuable materials, and deepens their bond. Her later decision to establish a Blood Pact raises his innate internal spiritual power to 79—above the minimum threshold for attempting to activate a Divine Throne 13 16.

He supplies Qian Renxue with forging methods, equipment, skills, and pills for Spirit Hall, then uses his knowledge to help secure medicinal opportunities before Tang San. He also encourages her to look beyond her family conflict by showing her the complicated lives of ordinary people 18 20 22 28.

Demon Hunt Squad Selection

Jiang Li reaches the fifth order before the tournament and aims for first place to obtain a Spirit Furnace. Nalan Shu appoints him captain of the six-person assessment team, which successfully completes its qualification mission 27 31.

During the journey, he intervenes against Lin Xin’s attempt to manipulate Long Haochen. In the Holy City, he ambushes Gui Wu and later helps Ye Hua instruct less-talented children in sword intent 34 36 38.

Qian Renxue also brings him a ten-thousand-year tiger. He confirms that Soul Beasts can grow more freely under the Holy Demon Continent’s laws and, with Ye Hua’s help, eventually establishes a summoning arrangement through Knight Sacred Mountain rather than making it his mount. The final chapter calls this creature the “Hell White Tiger,” whereas its earlier appearances call it the “Holy Light White Tiger” 41 42 43.

Final Developments

Jiang Li wins the selection competition, obtains a Spirit Furnace, and begins serving with a Demon Hunt Squad. After Qian Daoliu completes the intercontinental teleportation array, Jiang Li travels to Douluo with Qian Renxue and awakens his soul-based Body Martial Soul 43.

His cultivation accelerates under both systems. Repeated attempts to hinder Tang San fail to stop Tang San from escaping, so Jiang Li decides to prioritize Qian Renxue’s ascension. Using Holy Demon Continent resources and Electrolux’s inheritance shared with Long Haochen, she becomes a god while preserving Qian Daoliu’s soul 43.
