Ning Rongrong is the daughter of Ning Fengzhi and grew up under the doting care of the sect’s guardians, Chen Xin and Gu Rong. Her anime counterpart is described as the sect’s greatest talent in several hundred years; her manga counterpart’s talent is said to be unmatched since the sect’s founding 18 20 23.

Anime World: Academy Dispute and First Wager

At Shrek Academy in Suotuo City, Rongrong refuses Flender’s running exercise, questioning why a support-type Soul Master should undergo it. When he threatens to expel her, she invokes her sect’s standing and dismisses his authority as a Soul Saint 2.

The sect’s ninth-place ranking, above the tenth-place Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, vindicates Rongrong’s position in the first wager. Yu Xiaogang refuses to fulfill its terms, instead claiming that he arranged the bet to give her a way to submit to academy discipline 16.

Their argument produces a second wager. Rongrong maintains that the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda can evolve into an Eight Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, citing her father’s teachings. Yu Xiaogang again promises to kneel and apologize if the Sky Screen confirms her claim 17.

The screen first establishes that eight- and nine-treasure forms are possible, then identifies the manga Rongrong as an existing Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda wielder. Anime Rongrong celebrates the discovery despite her sect losing the first comparison round and renews her demand for an apology 18 19.
